It was my first time at illusions I'm not from the area Nicole Ramos did my hair. I WENT IN WITH BLONDE HAIR and we agreed the goal was MORE blonde and at the end I came out with RED/BROWN HAIR with the ends grey from purple shampoo. -Okay so on the 3rd of July I went in for lightning my roots 2 shades down and heavy blonde babylights. My root growth did get lightened to a brown color but my new roots have a red/brown tone so I doesn't match the rest. Also some of my roots are still left black! I still ended up paying 150$ plus tip but I wasn't happy I was in a rush for work I just wanted to leave that place Her excuse was the lighting in the salon. I deserve another session. read more

I'm newer to the area and was looking for a great salon to get my hair cut. Someone recommended Sarah to me, so I called and booked an appointment for the following day. I was getting 6 inches cut off to just above shoulder length and lots of layers, and my haircut turned out FANTASTIC!! She used a couple products I hadn't used before (one was Matrix Biolage Thermal-Active Setting Spray) which she said is what helped give my hair so much volume. She wasn't pushy about selling product whatsoever, so I bought a bottle and she explained when and how to spray it on. She was entertaining throughout my cut and very nice. I'm not much of talker during salon services, and I never felt awkward. The salon is very nice, without being too done-up and pretentious feeling like another salon I had tried in this town. I had a hair appointment the morning I'm supposed to be in a wedding that I booked a month in advance. When I arrived I let the ladies know I was here for an appointment with Tabaitha and all I'm told is to have a seat. 30 minutes goes by and no one has said anything to me so I decide to call Tabaitha. She tells me she's out of town. I could not believe it!!! No heads up and no one there told me anything. In the time spent waiting for nothing, I couldn't help but notice all the dust, on the coat rack even. I love dogs, they're great but three in a beauty salon is excessive. I saw a customer stumble over one! I do not recommend Tabaitha or this shop. read more

IM OBSESSED . Bernadette is the sweetest most amazing person that has ever walked this planet . All the ladies in there are so sweet and welcoming and I felt so at home as soon as I walked in . There were puppies running around and I almost lost my mind because I love dogs . Backspace lol . I made an appointment yesterday and they told me to come in today at 330 so I'm like okay that's fine and she calls me and asks me if I wanna come in earlier . Yeah , great , getting my hair done faster . I sit down in the seat and she looks at my rats nest on my head and asks me what I want and makes some suggestions for the better of my hair . I was just thinking something natural , something nice , something better than a red balayage that I had . We start having an amazing convo and we are laughing the whole time , it was great . When she washes out the bleach and the color dye and shows me . Girl ... GIRL... my hair is SOOOOOO CUTE . I love it , they are so nice , I got what I always wanted and didn't even need to give extra instruction and I'm so happy with the result . 11/10 . Would recommend . I was referred to Tranquil Massage Therapy @ Illusions Hair & Nail Studio by the folks at Dimensions Chiropractor. I was able to make an appointment with Elizabeth. We worked together getting me an appointment that worked with the chiropractor's schedule too (massage first to loosen the muscles, then snap/crackle/pop by the chiropractor afterwards). I gotta admit, she did a wonderful deep tissue massage that let me speechless! She is down to earth, strong as an ox, and knows her craft. I was impressed with how well she was able to reduce my tight-as@ muscles into mush for the next appointment. Her prices are more than reasonable...I'd say even the cheapest for the quality of work you're gonna get. I bought her deep tissue massage package deal (4 for $150 - $37.50 each!!!). She also offers a relaxation package 4 for $100. Best deal in town! Her deals change, so contact her directly for current discounts & deals. And by the way...she is totally LEGIT! Elizabeth is a skilled professional therapist who's work many year perfecting her craft. She won't even entertain sexual passes, gestures, or requests for 'happy endings'. Bernadette just did my hair- cut and all over highlights. Not only was she a lovely person, but she made my hair look so pretty. I am pretty particular, and have had my share of bad experiences with trying a new salon and my hair looking funky. She asked me a lot of questions, we got on the same page, and she worked magic. I am pretty upset that this is the result of my very first visit at Illusions Hair & Nails. I am always open to try new stylist because I figured that if they have a license, they should know what they are doing. Therefore, I should trust them right? Unfortunately, I was not happy with my results. I called them on Friday because I was hoping there was an available spot any time next week and they said they can see me the very next day! I was very happy with their service and friendliness on the phone and in the shop. That is why I give 2 stars. I showed up the next day and had an appointment with one of the girls who happened to be probably the newest one there. I didn't mind because with experience, comes practice. I really should have known better than to trust someone who just got their license but I am very open minded. Once she was done with everything, I noticed that my hair looked pretty much the same as it did when I walked in. I didn't want to worry too much because my hair was still a little wet so I thought the color will maybe come out later. But once I got home, it was confirmed. The color did not hold onto my hair. The only difference was very little streaks of the color that I chose. I'm sorry to say that I paid about $120 for her to maybe blow dry my hair. Highly disappointed in my experience. read more

This is an updated review! My stylist Nicole who is the only knowledgeable person apparently for curly hair is great with color however cutting my hair is another story. Last appointment I went in for some highlights, ombre TouchUp, and a cut. I let her know ahead of time before the color of how short I wanted it. She did the color job and then realized she didn't bring the ombre high enough to accommodate the hair cut I had requested so instead she reccomended I get it layered so I settled. She straightened it then cut it. The "layering" job was so awful you could see it, the shortest length was to the beginning of my shoulder and the rest was my regular length(to my back) just trimmed. It was so bad I cut my own hair and brought up the longest length to the shortest. Also the knowledge of products for curly hair is limited and her products consist of Tigi and a moroccan oil mask for her clients. Tigi for my hair is a big no no unless Im going for the dry frizzy look. The search for a salon that accommodates all my needs continues. read more

I have gone to Samantha twice for cut and color. Very nice cut both times exactly what I was expecting and the color is great I am new to color only had it done by one other person in the last ten years and Samantha did it in half the time the other person did and turned out great with highlights. I let her choose the colors which I am very happy with. Now the thing that makes Samantha exceptional why I have to give 5 stars is the above and beyond treatment which is the scalp MASSAGE! When she puts some toner or something like that on you get a massage when she washes color out massage, then shampoo!massage, conditioner massage, pre cut product massage, post cut product massage. It's really nice ! It gets the itchiness from the color thx out. I am used to a nice scalp massage from the shampooing but Samantha's is way better pressing some pressure points and includes it like I said every time aha applies anything to the hair with her hands. I should have paid attention to Chanelle's review. I'm also from out of town and booked an appointment on a whim. As chance would have it, Nicole was able to see me. All I wanted was to add some layers and have my bangs redone. It looked passable when she straightened it out in the salon, but it's a different story when I blow it out. I was underwhelmed with the bangs as well, but after asking for adjustments twice and still not seeing what I wanted, I decided to stop tempting fate. They are bluntly cut and not laying right, and the layers are frankly awful, which was only apparent after I played with my hair a bit. I took photos and put them on facebook and my cousin asked me if she cut them with school scissors. She may as well have. I'm sorry, because she was very friendly and nice, and it was a pleasant experience and all, but the haircut is not good. It's disappointing, because literally I've had better layers from a Super Cuts, and this was not a Super Cuts priced haircut. Maybe try someone else if you're going to get a layered haircut at Illusions. Personally, I'm going to try my luck somewhere else entirely. read more
