Additionally, we know how great of a school FCS is since my husband is a FCS Alumni and I was a substitute Teacher at the school for a year a while back. We thought that we would give public school a try, to save some money, and if we didn't like it or it didn't work out for our kids, we would re-evaluate our options.  This year when schools transitioned to distanced learning, due to COVID, our worlds were turned upside down, along with the rest of the world.  Our kids were struggling not being in the classroom and not being able to socialize with children their age, so when we heard that FCS was bringing back kids safely on campus we jumped on the opportunity to transfer them and have never once regretted that decision!  The Teachers, Principal and Staff at FCS have been AMAZING to say the least.  When we drove on campus to drop the kids off to school on their "first day" we immediately felt that our kids would be well taken care of, which was not a confident feeling for us at our previous school. The organization, care and seamless process to get the kids safely on and off of campus puts our minds at ease.  The Teachers do a wonderful job with communication and my kids immediately loved their new school and look forward to Chapel every week, which was also not an option at our previous school.  We appreciate and love our new FCS home and are so glad we transferred our kids to this school when we did. I went to this school 35 years ago, and I still remember it! I remember the young boy who came into…read moreclass late every day after lunch/recess puffy faced and crying. And, I remember the shame, humiliation, and fear I felt as a sweet 5 year old who got sent to the principals office for a spanking because I pulled tiny leaves and twigs off a bush and lose on the floor to make a little nest for birdies. I still remember the girl who told on me for this "offense" and how I had to remain standing when the whole yard, maybe 100 kids sat down, after the yard duty blew her whistle to signal someone's (me) in trouble. Making me stand amongst all the sitting kids was to shame and humiliate me. I then remember a couple of teachers asking me how I would feel if someone plucked my limbs off as I did to the poor bushes. They then shuttled me to the principals office in which I had to stand in line of maybe 5 other kids who were before me to face the principal. Then, I saw the boy who showed up late puffy faced and teary eyed every day after lunch/recess, leave the principals office after obviously enduring some sort of physical punishment by the person in charge of this institution. Then it was my turn to enter into the principals office. I was alone with this person. I was shaking. This person pulled out the paddle that she must have used thousands of time before day after day after day. She told me if I ever break the limbs off another one of gods creation's again that I would be paddled, as she smacked it against her hand. I remember leaving the office and seeing my neighbor, also a teacher, who said hello to me. I avoided her for the rest of my time living in our home as I was worried she would share what I had done with my mom. Then every day since then, seeing the same boy who came late to class after lunch/recess every day hurt my heart so badly as I knew he was being beaten by a paddle every day. This is all I remember from my thankfully only one year at this place. I'm sure it's changed since then but wow what an awful mark it left on me and I'm sure so many others, especially that poor boy.

Then principals changed yearly sometimes mid year, the Preschool director changed, and the kindergarten teacher retired. My child didn't have a productive year in kindergarten. The teacher couldn't control the class and homework was taken from a Pinterest idea. For the money paid it was a waste. Preschool, my child had a traumatic experience and would refuse to go after a month. My child was so excited to start school and go and that all changed. My child started feeling petrified of the school director. What was once before a loving community gradually turned into an environment where the kids felt isolated and insecure. For a place that is teaching about the love, nonjudgmental acceptance and mercy of the Lord didn't set an exemplary environment.

Faithful to the Word; unapologetic truth that points us to the compassion and mercy we have received. All sermons (from old and New Testament) show how Jesus' sufficient job on the cross is the a-z of the Bible (and really the core of life ). 2) The people! A group of people that know they are broken, don't pretend, and are there for you when you fall and are in the dumps. They eat with you, pray with you, cry with you, mourn with you, are goofy with you, admonish you, encourage you, and plainly walk through life with you. We left the church when we had to move to another country, but I wouldn't have left otherwise! Miss my New Life family!!! But the Lord is always faithful and I have a new church family in Canada now If you're on the fence about checking it out, don't be! Just go! Try it out a few times and then decide. You don't need to be a Christian. If you're a Muslim, a atheist, an agnostic, a Hindu, whatever you wanna call it, but you wanna find out more about Jesus or Christianity, you're welcome there!

We now also have an assistant pastor, Rich, who's been such a blessing to New Life. Since Rich's arrival, we've witnessed a huge growth in young adults ministry. - Though I'm sure people will only write good stuff about their own church, I want to first let you all know that I am going to be as unbiased as possible in the following review. I found New Life back in April through a pastor I'd met in Palo Alto. I had just moved back home from New York, and while looking for a church to settle in, the pastor suggested this church that is fairly new in my neighborhood. Since it was a pastor I trusted, I decided to give it a try. It couldn't hurt - it was only a few minutes from my house! Though I was at a very confusing stage in my life when I first started attending this church, I was able to settle in without feeling uncomfortable, thanks to the friendly, non-intimidating environment that is not too in-your-face. Seven months later, I am still attending the church. I have experienced a slow but visible growth in my faith, through the loving and supportive community, as well as Pastor Dave's sermons which are always on-point. The vibe of the community is very fun, friendly, yet intimate. Pastor Dave's sermons are intellectual and witty, but never straying away from the very core of the gospel. Though it is a fairly small church, there is an order that cannot be ignored. I believe this is a reflection of the gospel-centeredness of the church. This allows the church members to be accountable and supportive towards one another. What I love the most about NLMC is how welcoming and accepting everyone is towards newcomers who are still questioning their faith or have never even been to church. I have been to churches where there's the "inner circle" of people who grew up in that church their whole lives, but this church does not question or judge your faith; instead they provide you with some insights and guidance to understanding Christ. The congregation is mostly young married couples or young parents, but there still is a younger single crowd. The church vibe is still very young, and the church is very responsive to the younger crowd, so it'd be nice to see it grow more. Anyways, I suggest everyone to check out the church just for two weeks. I know that everyone feels differently about different churches, but I am pretty confident this one will make you feel safe as a place to grow in your faith.

Without getting too complicated there are only certain degrees which qualify you for the license and they are in the areas of social science and education. At the time I knew I didn't want to to Psychology (because I believe it's mostly crap) or Sociology. So the choices left were Education or Anthropology and I took classes in both to decide between the two. While taking the Introductory Education class I had to tour different types of schools as part of the process. This was one of the places I toured, and to be honest had to be the WORST. The children weren't in physical danger or anything, and the place was clean enough but the standards are so low here I wouldn't even send the child of my worst enemy (if I had one) here! The program is below developmentally appropriate for children it's downright boring! Some places you can comment have to much push on children, this place has the opposite problem no push at all and what little art I saw was cookie cutter and didn't allow the children to learn basic data about colors and mixing. Parent's please please please don't send your children here. This place was so bad I think I'll even list is as one of the reasons I picked Anthropology instead.

Blacow YMCA has a preschool program, as well as a before & after school program. The kids in there are very close and supportive of each other, and the staff is wonderful. It feels more like extended family than a childcare center. I never worry at work because I know my child is in good hands. It's also really nice that the head of the site stays in close contact with the teachers and principal at the school. She is aware of all school functions and after school activities, and is very accommodating to the kids who participate in after school sports & programs. My son is in the talent show every year, something he loves and wouldn't be able to do if he wasn't accompanied to the after school rehearsal's by a YMCA counselor. There are also pot luck parties and such so that the parents have a chance to get to know staff and other children in the program. I love this Y center and feel so lucky that my child gets to spend time here.

If it weren't for the sheer amount of peer pressure to do well and excel, I would have never bothered to work hard to excel and would probably be competing with high school graduates for burger-flipping jobs. I learned a really important concept while in high school: academic learning is an abstraction for success. While other reviewers complain that the narrow focus on academic excellence was technically useless, it prepared me to minimize-maximize my priorities for success. By re-abstracting the real, working world as a bunch of test-taking and BSing, it's helped me on my race towards the top. Mission is a great example of a Tiger Mother school, and I'd say that beating the excellence out of me worked wonders. It's a trial by fire, and I've suffered more than my share of breakdowns during my low points here, but overall, no pressure, no diamonds (Thanks Mr. Greene for the quote). If I weren't here, I'd just be dinosaur poop. Highlights: -Academic Challenge club (Without it, I would never be indirectly mentioned in the #National_Olympiads section in the Mission San Jose High School wiki) -Teachers: Chaney-Aiello, Geers, Geschke, Lindsey, Greene, Richards, Jaeger, Ishimine, especially Payette and Howell, you have all been the best teachers I know. Hopefully one day I will be able to pass on the light that you all have passed onto me. -Peers. But after four years. The reality has shown me, some teachers at this school did not give the child the support or the best possible experience. I won't know whether the principle behind teaching is supposed to be helpming students succeed. When I left, they did not seem to care at all. After 7 years and all that wasted time being here, it's infuriating to see none of them had even reached out to their members at all. Our daughter has been attending this school since summer'25. We were comfortable with the school…read moreand believed we had made the right choice for our child. Unfortunately, the basic standards of hygiene, safety, and staff competence have dropped significantly over approximately the last six months. 1. RESTROOM SUPERVISION & PRIVACY (OUR MOST SERIOUS CONCERN) Over the last six months, we have repeatedly seen boys and girls being taken into the same restroom at same time despite the fact that the school has separate designated boys and girls restrooms. We raised this concern six months ago. We raised it again on July 23, 2026, during a Zoom meeting with school admin. The school acknowledged that boys and girls were being taken into the same restroom at same time and told us that the matter would be discussed with a supervisor. The practice continued. Two weeks later, our daughter told us that a boy from her class was looking at her private part while they were in the restroom. She told him not to look and told us that he did not listen. She also told us that she reported it teacher. A concern that we repeatedly raised has now materialized into a direct violation of our daughter's bodily privacy and inappropriate viewing of her private area by another child. 2. STAFF CONDUCT & CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT On one occasion, Ms. Nahal told our daughter, "ZIP YOUR MOUTH" We brought this directly to admin. We were told that the matter had been addressed with Ms. Nahal. To our surprise, Ms. Nahal never personally acknowledged nor apologized for what she said, and she remains employed at the school. If a teacher cannot speak to young children with basic respect, they should not be working with them. On another occasion, when we asked Ms. Rebecca about a bathroom related incident, her response was essentially: "I was the only teacher and I have 13 kids to look after. I didn't get time." Parents should not have to accept dismissiveness and a lack of attention to basic concerns about their child simply because staff are overwhelmed. 3. ANT INFESTATION We also experienced a significant ant infestation at the school that lasted for about a month. We raised the issue multiple times before the school finally arranged professional pest control. The problem was eventually resolved, but it was concerning that action was take only after repeated complaints from multiple parents. 4. OVERALL MANAGEMENT & LOSS OF TRUST A school is first safest place outside their home and teachers are first role models in child's life. We believe this school has failed in both basic fundamental responsibilities. Our confidence and trust in the school have deteriorated significantly due to major management changes and teacher turnover. Lacking proactiveness in identifying issues and bring them to resolution. We genuinely hope the school takes these concerns seriously and makes the changes necessary to restore the level of trust and safety that we originally believed we were getting when we enrolled.

She transitioned smoothly from Classroom 3 to 2 during the summer and now to Classroom 1 for the TK program, and throughout this journey, the care, structure, and learning environment at LAPMS Fremont have been excellent. A Special Note on Ms. Tina (Classroom 3): Ms. Tina is truly one of a kind--nurturing like a grandmother, yet firm and gentle in guiding children. She was always approachable and consistently prompt in sharing feedback after the school day, keeping us informed about eating, sleeping, play, and academic activities. She maintained the classroom with great order and cleanliness, and thoughtfully sent home all of the children's artwork in an organized way each week. Her attention to detail and best practices set an example for any classroom to follow. With her experience and genuine passion for teaching, we always felt at ease dropping off our child in her care. Ms. Tina tailored her recommendations based on each child's personality and progress, showing that she truly understood and cared for every student. She treated teaching not as a 9-to-5 job but as her calling, and it showed in everything she did. Acknowledgment for Other Staff: Ms. Pooja (Lead) : She manages the school exceptionally well, balancing the large number of students while still adding personal touches--like greeting each parent by name every morning. She ensures the campus, classrooms & bathrooms are tidy & clean. Spotless. She put incredible effort into organizing events such as the 100th Day of School, Father's Day, and Mother's Day, making them personal/memorable for both kids and parents. She also continues to creates opportunities for children to showcase their talents, helping build confidence and public speaking skills. We truly valued her openness to feedback and her commitment to implementing it. Ms. Lorena: Always friendly and highly responsive, she promptly communicated with teachers and ensured that children were set up for their appointments and specific needs. Also promptly posts weekly pictures on Facebook. Ms. Saheli, From Day 1, has been very kind, welcoming ensuring a great atmosphere for Ira. Ms. Mahi and Ms. Kathleen: During the summer program, they went out of their way to make learning and play enjoyable for the kids, and their warmth and support made the program very special. We are now looking forward to continuing the same positive experience in Classroom 1 with Ms. May, Ms. Mo, and Ms. Radhika. Learn and Play Montessori Fremont has given Ira a wonderful start in her early education journey, and we are grateful to the entire team for their dedication, care, and passion. Highly recommended for the Montessori program.
