I am not one who works out for fun. I have tried countless things from running to barre classes to yoga to at home stregnth training. Nothing kept my interest long enough to make me not dread doing it. Even before taking my first ILKB-Somerset class, I was involved in one of their challenges. The outpouring support from the other members and the trainers blew my mind. They were (and still are) so encouraging and motivating. Over the course of one month, I felt like part of a family, a fitness family. Once the doors FINALLY opened I was so scared and nervous to get on the mats. As promised the warm up is really tough. Jogging, dreaded burpees, mountain climbers, push ups, sit ups, high knees are all things you can expect. A great reminder from Nerissa, one of the instructors, is "It doesn't get easier, you get stronger". It really is a great mantra!! Then they throw in some stretching, bag training, partner training and more stretching. The instructors walk around and make adjustments so you don't get hurt. They encourage you and push you to keep going and work harder but in a nice way! After my first class I was on cloud 9 and was totally hooked. I joined ILKB in Somerset because I take on a new fitness adventure every year and kickboxing looked like a fun workout that would kick my butt. The class did that, but also so much more. My very first class I met a couple fitfam friends that keep me motivated towards my goals. The instructors are really energetic, positive, inspiring and informative! I could only do knee pushups when I started and now I can do a couple regular pushups because one of the instructors showed me how to properly build my pushup strength. I also used to have a lot of back pain while doing certain ab exercises and another instructor helped me correct my posture to relieve my back backpain so now I can really work my abs. The Somerset ILKB location is so supportive as well. They check in to see how you're progressing with goals (I'm down almost 20 pounds in just 3 months!) and to see how you are feeling overall. Although I've looked into other types of fitness classes that are closer to me, I stay here because I feel super supported, I see constant physical and mental progress towards my goals, and I have a kicka$$ time every class. read more

iLoveKickboxing has been a wonderful addition to my life. Already I am noticing changes in strength and stamina. The staff are amazing and truly compassionate. I have a knee injury that limits my ability to find an effective workout that I can handle I look forward to the classes. Instructors help me modify throughout each class and will demonstrate how to participate effectively and safely. I am impressed by their dedication to me and to other members, offering individual support during the classes. When arriving one day, they were looking up specific modifications for me and explained them before the class began. It built my confidence in myself and showed how much the instructors really care about their members. I love kickboxing somerset is hands down the best place around! I've just never had the motivation I needed to steadily work out but that all changed quickly and I mean it! From the day I signed up to the day of my first class the motivation I received was amazing. They are always posting in our Facebook group giving us support. I was always afraid to work out because I was worried people would judge me if I'm doing something wrong rather than helping me and teaching me. Ilovekickboxing (Somerset) has a huge positive impact on me. I'm getting back in shape. At other gyms I didn't feel motivated to keep coming back nor did I know the right combination of work outs to work my entire body. It is a very positive environment that keeps working out fun and energized. All the instructors know my name. I've made new friends in class. People have a range of abilities, so there is always someone who inspires me to push myself. Even class to class, I've noticed a change in what I can do. I love coming to see my #FitFam. I joined three weeks ago after not working out for far longer that I care to admit, and feeling terrible, and non-motivated. But everyone was so welcoming and encouraging that I love coming back! The instructors are amazing and break down each move and help correct your form. I started seeing results right away. iLoveKickboxing is amazing! I was nervous to start it because I knew literally nothing about kickboxing, but the staff is very welcoming and the classes are geared toward all levels. There are also multiple staff members that walk around during class to make sure you are safe, doing all the moves correctly, and push you past your limits. I have been to 7 classes so far and I am already seeing the results. I've lost weight and gained muscle tone in my arms, abs, and legs. It's the best workout I've ever done! read more

This is the Cheers of Kickboxing! You walk in..... and everyone greets you by name! I hate exercise and have avoided it in the past at ALL COSTS. So I saw the trial class offer and decided to go for it! The staff here are great... motivating, they teach you the correct way to do the moves, funny.... and most of all, welcoming to whomever walks in!! I HATE working out and can rarely stick with any one thing too long...BUT it has been 3 weeks and I am addicted to this place. They must pump something into the air because everyone is always smiling even as we sweat our butts off. The staff is very friendly and encouraging in a way that doesn't feel fake. What a fantastic experience. I have never been a part of a fitness environment that was so engaging and positive.
