I was not happy with that dentist and searched for an alternative and took a chance on Dr. Joshi because he accepted my insurance. However he is exactly the type of dentist that you would want to go to. Key positives about his attitude and demeanor: great bedside manner, fantastic with kids, personable, comes across as sincere and honest. However professionally he is a standout. The quality of his work is terrific and he errs on the side of doing less versus trying to convince you to get too much work done. He works in a small office in Madison NJ and it is fine, but not fancy. If you are looking for a great dentist in the area, make sure to give him a try!

He is conservative and doesn't do expensive unnecessary treatments and try to up-sell like so many dentists these days. He (and his lovely hygienist and dental assistant) puts you at right at ease with his calming manner and is a very good and thorough dentist. He did an implant crown for me recently, and I was so anxious about the ordeal, since he was fixing another dentist's mistake. It looks beautiful and I am very happy with the whole process and outcome. If you are looking for a small town dentist feel, then this office is for you. I highly recommend Dr. Joshi. :).

But here's the issue: After 52 years (hey, that's a long time) with one practice, this should never happen -- My wife and I retired, and of course, no longer had company dental insurance. We wanted to buy our own insurance (after COBRA expired) and were told that he didn't accept any privately purchased insurance. As you know, insurance plans (as we always had) have negotiated rates that are cheaper than individuals can get. As a result of all of this, our dental rates went up 20-25%, and that rate increase goes directly to the dentist. While I don't have a solution to this, neither did Dr. Frey, so I had to go elsewhere, after 52 years. Senior citizens have to pay higher rates at this practice -- simple as that. As you approach retirement age, plan on that. I should add that I have about $250,000 invested in my teeth. It would seem like I'd be the kind of patient (and family) that a dentist would want to keep.

I had all my crowns and root canals done by him and the results were amazing no one could even tell they weren't my real teeth. He's great all around In general dentistry and cosmetic and him and his wife have always treated me like family. My sister and brother in law also go to him!
