The frames are very easy to shop and are displayed by color which makes the process of picking out the correct frame much easier. I've been to Images of Austin twice now and each experience was simply excellent. The first was a simple framing of a set of three pieces of art as a gift for my partner. They turned out beautifully. I told Robin my budget and she worked with me to get the price to where I needed it without sacrificing a bit of quality. She has such an eye for what goes best with each piece. The second job was framing an old "Freddy Krueger" video store window display from the 80s. How have I not left a review for Images of Austin yet? We found this place at the end of last year and had a couple of pieces framed, both of which were beautifully done. Since then we've had several pieces framed, as well as a couple of repairs, one of which was a re-stretch from another framer in Austin that did a terrible job. So, here's what you need to know: 1) Excellent and well organized selection of frames. 2) Beautiful work, these guys do it themselves, including stretching canvasses, they don't send the work out elsewhere to be completed. 3) Fair price for the work. If you want cheap framing, go to a craft store chain, but if you want quality work and frames, these guys are great. Also, the turnaround time is good. If they say two weeks, they mean it. We used to have a framer that did fantastic work, but it would take the guy weeks to get around to it. Oh, and one more thing. Robin and her husband (Bud, I think), both have an excellent eye, so if you have a piece and aren't certain what style of frame you want, they provide wonderful input. We had a gigantic painting broken by movers a while back, and the frame was beautiful, and of course, no longer available. It took us a long time to find the perfect frame for it, so it was upsetting when it broke. Robin ended up finding the right frame for the piece, and it turned out better than the original frame we had it in!! read more

I'm so happy to have found this family-owned business right near my house! I called and gave them the dimensions of the painting that I wanted framed over the phone. They gave me an estimate. I came in a few minutes later and they quickly took care of the order and gave me an estimated date for completion. I was a little bit sad that it was going to take a few weeks so I called them back the next day and asked if I could get it any sooner. They said no problem and a week later it was done. They even called me on Sunday to tell me that they would be around if I wanted to pick it up, even though it was their day off. The service is incredibly friendly and professional. You have to go into the shop as well because there is an incredible collection of beautiful ceramics and other pieces of art for sale. The staff at Images of Austin are so friendly, welcoming and they totally understand that it's really hard work to navigate through the endless decisions one makes when getting something framed. They guide you through it, and take the stress out of the equation! We brought two posters that were very valuable to me. They took care during the consultation, they listened to what I wanted and gave me a quote that beat the socks off of all other local frame shops. Then, although they said it would be 2 weeks for these large pieces, it was done early! I can't believe how beautiful our pieces are! I've been meaning to get a review in for Images of Austin for a while as I'm pleased as punch with their work! In 2007 I went to Egypt and my one big souvenir was a papyrus scroll of The Book of the Dead. I love this scroll. It's in my bedroom and is the second thing I love to see in the morning (don't worry hubby, you are the first!). However I made a huge mistake when I went to get it framed, I fell for the sirens song of the coupon! Yes, I stupidly took it to Michael's. It took them two tries to try to get it to look like what I wanted and it was still an epic fail. I was stuck with it mounted in a frame that was too big, looked cheap and made the scroll look oddly and sadly wavy. Fast forward to 2015 and I had a bit more money in my pocket and decided I'd finally had it with the frame of blah and wanted to get it fixed. So I took it to Images of Austin. Bud was there and we chatted about the issues with it. Robin wasn't in so I left it with him and planned to meet up with her to discuss options. Before we met she manged to get the papyrus off the backing without damage. I was, and still am, incredibly grateful for that as it turned out Michael's had used HUGE strips of double sided tape on it. I stopped back in and she helped me select a beautiful frame (it actually looks like papyrus flowers) and mat AND she totally got what look I was going for! It made me so happy as the Michael's staff had looked at me like I was nuts when I told them what I wanted! It took a bit of time to get the framing done as I think they had some personal issues but they were super communicative about it. In the end it was completely worth the wait. It's like having a new picture and my mornings are much brighter! Next time I will avoid the song of the coupon and take my most precious images to Images of Austin. Had an excellent experience at Images of Austin. After too long, I finally decided to frame my college and law school diplomas and law license. I wanted all three to match, even though they are different sizes and different paper. I am thrilled with the way they turned out. They look like a perfect matching set. Robin was super patient and helpful, letting me stick to my simple style but also giving helpful suggestions. For example, I never would have selected the gold mat, but it looks so good and really ties all three together. This was not cheap (about $1000 for all 3) but I knew that and figured this was one time to spend some money. I can get cheap art framed at Hobby Lobby, but these I will have and proudly display for the rest of my life.
