One of the things my wife and I have a tradition of doing is to visit specialty toy stores while on vacation. Maybe it's because we are not very creative, and can't think of anything interesting to do. Maybe it's because my wife continues to remind me that I am still a child. Or maybe it's because we have the cutest grand-kids on the planet, and we always must bring back a souvenir toy for each of them when returning from vacation. This trip, Imagination Station is the place where we shopped for our toy purchasing adventure. This trip's purchased items included stuffed animals, puzzles, finger paint paper, and a toy plane / card book combo. They have lots of educational toys, family games, and fun things to play with for all ages. Oh, and if you spend more than $100 in a single purchase, they give you a free carry bag to bring home your loot! Ok, so maybe we were a bit indulgent this trip, but hey...what a fun store to be indulgent in! read more

Great selection of toys but no warm greeting and we were watched like a hawk stalking its prey! Sounds like our experience was like some of the other reviews. Like who doesn't greet kids and families with excitement when they come into a toy store? My son was walking around the store admiring the toys and touching some that he found interesting, gently, he knows to not grab or be rough with something until he has selected his toy and we pay for it. The worst part of the experience, they have display windows full of items and a sign that says "please ask for assistance for window items," ok, we respect others rules, there was a kitchen pointed toward the inside of the store and not toward the street for viewing from the window. My son sees it, is obsessed with kitchens and makes his way over. I notice the sign and told him that we need to find something else to play with after noticing the sign. Of course this 2.5 year old is sad by this and starts to cry (it's nap time). I'm holding him and letting him know it's ok to be upset but we have to leave the kitchen alone and the lady working who's been hovering the entire time says "you have to stay out of the window, you can't touch those things" This "toy" store needs to be informed that they need to let parents, parent their own kids. You know, you go to a toy shop and expect to see, touch, and hear toys! I don't feel like this is too much to ask/expect from a toy shop. OMG! You'd have thought my kids were satan's disciples looking at this "toy store's" toys. My kids can be hell-raisers. On this particular occasion, they were being so good. Legit good kids. We had just come from the art gallery next door and were in be good or die mode. Damn the shop owners were horrible! They told them to stop touching things, get out of the way of the other customers (the zero other people in the store), and were so rude about answering questions. Throwing it out there that birthday money saved was spent on our next trip to a far superior toy store in Coeur d'Alene. Be nice!! read more

They have the cutest stuffed animals here that you heat up in the microwave and they smell like lavender. The perfect find for my sweet grandchildren that refuse to sleep at times and the oldest one (she's 5) is obsessed with stuffed animals. A win win! I know you can buy a lot of things online for less but this toy store and stores alike, provide a place that you can actually pick up and look at the toy for your kids, or in our case, grandchildren, and what they carry are of great quality. I love this place and walked out with the perfect gifts for my grandchildren for when we come home from our trip and a few Christmas gifts for later. read more

Pretty much the best kid store I've ever been in. Whoever does their purchasing, needs a raise! These are the best collection of kids toys, and educational products I have ever seen. It is actually fun for me to walk around and I get super excited about what I want to buy for my son! For all of you travelers out there searching for the best place to spend your vacation time. Consider taking a step down memory lane. Imagination Station, what fun. The name might lead you to believe this is a kids only shop, that would be a mistake. This shop has something for everyone whoever enjoyed a puzzle, card game, chess board, dice game, clay, finger-paints, chalks, bedtime stories, and on and on. So if your in town looking for gifts for the little ones or games to play at the bar(s) or at a picnic table someplace. There is likely something fun for you here. No sarcastic slapstick toys, beer mugs, and whoopee cushions here. Just good wholesome fun that brings family and strangers together in all the right ways. Before or after a meal. Wait... meals not included nor are they required. Adults looking for a few wholesome games to play, just head straight to the back right corner. Mind the children on your way. Those with kids, well just follow the laughter and the rest should work itself out. Potential birthday gifts and other occasions are lining the walls for all the little people in your life. Now, one bit of advice and I suggest you heed this. Going to this shop is sorta like going to Grannies house. Your free to bring the toys and goodies out so long as you remember to clean up after yourself (or your kids). One day ago we spent over a hundred dollars in games. Loved the material that the store carried. Came back the next day and it was not such a pleasant experience. We shopped down the street (at a thrift) and was accused of trying to steal when we were leaving. We pointed out the stickers from the store and was treated with some pretty snarky looks/and under breath comments. My 11 year old daughter who was shopping for her birthday was very embarrassed. So if you want cool games it is a good store. Avoid taking anything in from the other shops on the strip mall. You may wish to avoid talking to staff too :( read more

My 5 and 7 yr old girls bought birthstone rings for a couple bucks. They enjoyed looking at everything, playing with a train, and planning for what they wanted for birthday and Xmas. Store has inexpensive toys to expensive toys so good variety. read more
