I could get lost for hours at Murdochs. They have a great selection of pet food and are happy to advise. I also ended up buying garden tools & clothes. They even have kids toys. I couldn't believe seeing toy chain saws, one in standard yellow & one in pInk! :-) I love Montana! Staff are super helpful & friendly. They also have fresh pet vaccines, which I had never knew you could buy at a store & administer to your pet. I trusted Murdoch's Kalispell with my brand-new Honda mower, but after nearly 11 weeks of delays and misinformation, it was returned in used and damaged condition. I only got it back after Honda Corporate stepped in, and I truly believe I never would have received it without their help-there was no apology and no compensation. I can't speak toward all Murdoch's stores, but our local one (Kalispell) is not great. specifically the gun department guys are arrogant and seriously lacking in knowledge. For one thing, if you appear to be under the age of 65 you'll be lucky if they acknowledge you. When you have come to the counter to inquire about firearms they appear to be so insecure that they work at making you feel uncomfortable. I was checking out a specific pistol (Sig P320 Dan Horner) and I asked if it came with two recoil springs for different weights. I knew they were supposed to, but I was trying to have reasonable conversation. His response after asking twice, was very condescending as if I should've already known that " no they don't come with another spring. Nothing comes with an extra spring, you get the box and an extra mag. " I thought OK strange but not gonna argue. This guy who must have more experience with it given that I have yet to own one and he's the one selling it. (I ended up buying it and just as I had thought I knew, they do come with an extra as most all of the sigs with the 1911 style do. next as I was switching between the X5 Legion and the Dan Horner I noticed that the grip frame of the Dan Horner felt a little narrower. So I that and said oh wow this one feels like it's narrower I can get a fuller wrap around it. Again, just trying to have nice conversation. He and his coworker literally at me and said no they're the same frame. And guess what, they were wrong on that too. A simple Google search proves that, but as I was noticing in my two minutes of switching back-and-forth could tell it was obvious in my hand. So that tells me that not only do they not know what the selling come with which may be reasonably excusable that they haven't looked through the box the firearms come in. But then to scoff at a customer to intentionally overtly say you're an idiot When they clearly have not even handled them themselves or if they have are not experienced enough to have felt the difference. Anyways, I'll leave it at that. My recommendation would be if you know exactly what you want and are experienced and they have what you want like in my case with them being the only one around that had that particular firearm fine. But if you need any advice, help experienced information, etc. or even just expect to have courteous pleasant conversation you absolutely do not want to go to these guys read more

I tried getting my mom a replacement magazine for her 22LR she purchased from Murdochs. There was no joke 6 workers behind the gun counter just standing there. They told me they couldn't help me at all. I asked if they could order it, they said I would have to try and find one myself online. Call me old school, but I believe you should be able to find replacement parts for an item you purchased from the same establishment, especially removable and very important parts that are essential to the function of the firearm. read more

Best gun shop in town. Very knowledgable and enthusiastic salesmen. They don't just set a gun up on the counter and stare at you (or worse, walk away) they actually engage you and find out what you are looking for. So I called twice to prepay and reserve baby chicks and they told me I couldn't but I knew of two people who just did that. So I went in the day they were getting more chicks and they only had one kind we wanted so again I asked if I could prepay she came back and said" no if you want I can call you when they get in." NO she never called I just went back in, not very happy with the service! read more
