I received a minimum of fifteen emails and spent approximately fifteen minutes on the phone troubleshooting an issue, during which I was asked to participate in a second call. The difficulty in being added to the class was due to a technical problem on the instructional side, not my own. I requested tracking information for the course materials, which were not provided; moreover, the materials arrived after the start date. The workshop did not occur on the scheduled weekend despite my leaving work early to participate. Despite having paid for the course, I encountered these issues, and similar content is available free of charge on YouTube.

It's a two weekend event where you…read moredrive through Cave Creek, Carefree, and North Scottdale on a self-guided tour of 150+ artists at 40 studios. Multiple artists are set up at a host artist's home studio, and the public gets to browse and shop. It was fun to see some art that we recognized from other shows or restaurants. Each artist had a card, qr code, or newsletter sign up sheet. Just driving through the desert from studio to studio was breathtaking. We saw such a variety of interesting art in beautiful homes and studios. I can't wait to go again next year and will plan more days around it so that we can view so much more. Plan your route and stop by downtown Cave Creek or Carefree for lunch. We did take our kids, after a very firm discussion on being respectful and not touching (art or each other). They did pretty good and found it interesting. Each artist had a bowl of candy or mints out, so that added extra motivation. The artists were wonderful towards the kids.

NO ONE CHECKED ID, the individual who I had pick my child up from that school went to the office and the front office receptionist sent this individual directly to where my child was. The receptionist did NOT check ID & when it was time to grab him from the teacher they too just sent him off without even speaking or asking for Identification. Another incident had transpired where another student was touching my child inappropriately & when it came to time speak with the teacher she WAS AWARE of the incident but FAILED to INFORM ME ! I am not only concerned about my child but I am also concerned about the other student as well as that parent should be aware and informed of the information ! The teacher made it a point to MESSAGED ME AND INFORM ME OF OTHER THINGS but not mention what was MOST IMPORTANT. NOT ONLY did these terrible incidents happen but my son had been here in this school for 6 months & his main teacher still DID NOT know his name but would address him as someone else . FINALLY each time I would address my issues of concern the teacher and both principal and assistant principal were VERY CALLOUS . NO apology NO concern NO EMPATHY ... NOTHING !! This is long, but I'd want transparency when it comes to my child…read more When we toured in July, Ms. Wilson was the director. She was wonderful--she explained the teacher assignment, said the app included camera access and daily updates, and reassured me they worked with new kids often. She mentioned she'd be leaving soon and new owners were taking over but felt confident we'd like them. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. After filling out the application, I waited a week for the rest of the paperwork. Nothing came. I called multiple times and was told it would be sent, but it never was. The Friday before my son was supposed to start, I went in person. They couldn't even find the forms and spent over an hour recreating my account so I could receive them. My son started on Tuesday, and the school called on Monday asking if I still wanted to enroll him because their system showed him inactive. Not a good first impression, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It took three weeks to get a door code and app access. When I did, there was no camera access after all--"Oh we will fix it". A letter later confirmed parents would not be given access. The code itself often didn't work even when I got it. ACH payments also took three weeks to set up. At first, the director said my balance was zero, then suggested I had given the wrong account, then said my account was closed. Without me changing anything, they eventually "fixed" it. The teacher I was told would be in my son's room wasn't there. On the first day, the teacher didn't introduce herself. Weeks later, I realized someone else was actually the teacher I'd been told about. No notice, no communication--just changes parents were expected to figure out. The handbook says to talk to your child first, then ask the teacher for an update. In our case, a new teacher came in at 2 p.m. daily. When I asked her about my son's day, she always shrugged and said she had just gotten there. There was no handoff from the morning teacher. This was frustrating because this was my son's first school experience, and I wanted to know what he was doing so I could support him at home. At one point, a sign on the door said to check the app for a project due. Since I didn't yet have access, I asked the PM teacher. She shrugged and told me to ask the director, who also didn't know. Just a preschool project--but again showed the lack of communication. Meals were another issue. I noticed many items my son wouldn't eat and asked if I could pack something simple like a banana. I was told outside food wasn't allowed. Staff said if a child didn't eat, they'd offer something else like a sunbutter sandwich--but that never happened. Most days, my son ate nothing at all. Eventually, we decided to move schools and turned in our two weeks' notice. On his second-to-last day, I saw him being walked back to class by staff. The director walked by me to the class. The PM teacher told me my son had been in her office part of the day due to behavior. I got only a one-sentence explanation and was told to "ask the director," but she never came back to speak with me. The app stopped updating at 11:30 a.m., and I picked him up at 3:00. No food, no bathroom notes, no details. No call to me or Dad. If it was serious enough to remove him from class, I should have been called. Once again, he hadn't eaten and was very emotional at home. I didn't send him for his final day--it didn't feel safe. Maybe I'm new to "school life," but I expected communication above all else. Instead, I got excuses. If you want a place to simply drop your child off, this school might work. If you want a place you can trust, where staff truly care about your child's well-being, I'd look elsewhere.

However, walking into BSP and meeting Ms Carmela and the other amazing teachers, left us with a sense of relief. Then when our kids started, the teachers kindness/support towards all the children and staff's great communication with parents only reinforced our decision. Both our kids graduated from BSP! Our most recent just this last Fall. Our kids loved their teachers and friends. It's like a little family that was created with the kids and parents. Great Beginnings has been nothing but a pleasure to be apart of. Day in and day out, I know that the people in that place are filled with light and God's glory. Their intent is to raise up a child in the ways they should go, "Proverbs 22:6. Train up a child in the way he should go;". There has NEVER been a moment where I did not trust or depend on a GB teacher to guide my children accordingly. Specifically, Ms. Mandy has prepared 2/3 of my kids for pre-k and has done nothing but a wonderful job. She has challenged them, loved on them, and prepared them to know what to expect in Kindergarten. (And I'm not sure if you know what the education system is like nowadays but it's ROUGH). Realizing that there are moments where she needed to be tough to ensure that my child would be successful was apart of my job as the PARENT. I knew for a fact that she had no ill intent. She is HIGHLY qualified for the job, as both of my boys are gifted in Math. Let me echo this again, She knows what she is doing. I have recommended countless families to GB and will continue to do so. Pleasing everyone in this world is impossible. But, I can vouch and say that GB is one of the best places you can bring your child if you're looking for curriculum that is filled with the truths of God and love of Jesus, teachers who know what they are doing and enjoy it, and a place that you can trust.

Despite having a 504 Plan, my child's documented accommodations--including dietary needs and reminders to drink water--were not consistently followed. Academically, reading instruction occurred only twice per week, which led to significant delays and was especially concerning given the school's small class size and private setting. There was a noticeable lack of individualized academic support. Supervision and school culture were also troubling. On multiple occasions, staff did not assist my child during drop-off. Inappropriate behavior and language among students went unaddressed, including name-calling from older students. A teacher's response that this behavior "meant they loved her" was deeply concerning and unacceptable. Communication was inconsistent and often unclear. Progress reports were repeatedly delayed and, when finally received, contradicted prior conversations about my child's academic struggles. Additionally, my child's tutor identified academic deficiencies that had never been communicated by the school, and there were inconsistencies between staff regarding her progress. Overall, this experience showed a lack of accountability, communication, and appropriate support. Families should ask detailed questions about accommodations, academic intervention, and how student behavior is handled before enrolling.
