Went here looking for a cut, been here before and theres a OG that cut the hair good, but this time…read morehe said he got couple people in line so referred me to this old guy with crossed eyes that I try not to judge by appearance and was recommended by OG but the guy mess my hair super bad like I've never seen before, left my hair uneven to the point you can see the color of my skin on top of the head, I asked him before he started the cut if he was able to do it, I only asked for a taper and a squared lineup in the back(showed him pictures of what I wanted) something simple then told him to cut only a little bit of hair but even on top sides and back very simple cut. He messed it so bad it was uneven on top to the point that even if u brush and try to comb the hair it look uneven, super hard to explain the mess he left at my hair, the taper was higher in one side, and still charged me 45 dollars I don't care to pay but cmon I asked you and I showed you then I told you that you mess my hair everyone in there saw how bad was it. After that I had to go to other barbershop to get everything fixed, I was trying to grow my hair and because of this guy now It's super short. What pisses me of the most is that I cut my hair with this guy because OG said he got couple ppl in line but while I was getting the cut OG finished the guy that he was cutting and sat down and didn't cut anyone else, so he lied to me just to give the crossed eyes guy a new customer. I felt disrespected because my money matters and every time I go there they charge me 45 and I always leave 15 or 20 dollars tip, so in total I pay 60 or 65 depends how my pockets are that day. But yea DONT GET A CUT BY THE CROSSED EYES GUY HERE. I'm definitely never cutting my hair again here with the OG for disrespecting me like that and never getting a haircut with the crossed eyes guy again, there's other barbers that are good like Darrell I think his name is, pretty good barber, respectful and talented! I've been to Vheekie's twice & didn't have any issues, besides her wasting my time on one occasion, when she told me to come at a certain time to fix 2 braids that fell out, & she wasn't home. I took an Uber there, and had to take an Uber right back home. Then had to return a second time! This time around I had an appt. on Thur, Aug 20 @4:30pm. Let me be honest & say I was 25 mins late. I was about 15 mins running behind time, but then when reaching her neighborhood there was a naked man, who had striped in the middle of the street (Northveiw) & was dancing all over the place. Traffic was backed up, and I called 911 to get him help. Once I arrived she started my hair, but it was taking longer than normal. At 1am she said whatever wasn't finished at 2am, would have to be finished the next day, I said fine. 2am came and about 1 side still needed to be done. She said I should come back at 8am or 11am. I said Vheekie which one? That's a big time difference & I had to plan the day. She texted early in the am & said come at 11am. I made sure I left at a decent time & arrived at 11am. I texted & let her know I had arrived. I got no answer, so I came inside. She was braiding someone else's hair, I said should I wait in my car? She said yes. 12pm came nothing, 1pm came nothing, then soon after, I got a text from her saying she should be done soon. 1:30pm came and I saw the client leave. Vheekie did not inform me, I just saw her & texted her to ask if I should come in. She responded, I have to eat first, I said ok. At 1:40pm I decided to wait inside for her. She was preparing a meal on the stovetop, talking to some friends on speaker. I waited patiently in the living room, while she ate & talked, to about 2pm. Here it is I arrived at 11am on the nose, and she started my hair close to 2pm. I had a very important Black Tie event to go to; my Godson's going away to college/belated prom/graduation celebration. You'll know Class of 2020 didn't get the real celebrations this year. 2:55pm came and Vheekie said she had a dentist appointment to go to by 3:30pm. Mine you my hair was half done. I said Vheekie I have to get my hair completed, this was day 2. I couldn't miss the event, she said, "You're going to have to wear a hat". I'm like you're kidding right? She's like no! I was upset, but stayed calm, because I needed her to finish. She made calls to the dentist office, asking if she could reschedule. She said they said, the next appt. was mid Sept, and that they'd keep her $200 deposit if she didn't show this time. She stated she had canceled twice before. Then she claims to have called back & told them she wasn't feeling well & she needed to reschedule in order to keep her deposit. Then she claimed to have called back again & told them, she'd just come. With COVID-19, I know an office wouldn't tell you to come, if you just shared you were sick. Anyway she said she had to go, that we could finish the following day (day 3) or she could refer me to a shop in Lanham, who could finish my hair. She stated she would take care of the cost, since she couldn't finish it. Mine you I needed to be home at 5pm, latest 6pm, in order to leave by 7, to get to the event by 7:45pm. I get to the shop and the women have no idea on how to finish my hair. Originally I was just getting corn rolls, then Vheekie advertised a style that she wanted someone to model (rainbow braids). I volunteered, my original $25 deposit went towards this style, and she asked that I buy the hair. When someone models, you don't make them buy the products you're using, and pay for the service, which I mentioned to her. She ended up saying, keep my receipt & she'd reimburse me for the hair. When the braids were finally complete after 2 days, around 6:30pm Vheekie wanted to take pictures. I said sure, but I really have to go, so it has to be quick. I was now extremely late for the event. I thought she took 5-6 pictures, then I said Vheekie, please respect my time, I have to go & I left. Vheekie had my $25 deposit, she never reimbursed me for the hair, so what I owed her was technically $5.78 plus a tip, which is only voluntarily at this point (Cost of modeling a style for her was $90). The hair total that I purchased for her was $59.22. Minutes after she texts me 12-13 pictures that she took, and complained that they weren't nice enough. Then she sent multiple texts saying I owed the lady who helped with my hair $80, and that my hair was short; which it isn't, etc, etc. I just wanted to get to the event & she's calling & texting. I couldn't give her anymore energy. 4:30 am I get a message saying she charged my card $120. When I responded to her later in the am, she said she did that on purpose, JUST to get my ATTENTION!!! This is now FRAUD!!!

Although there is a coupon on the website for $20-$40 off, they won't honor it. I called the day before and explained the style I wanted (large Senegalese twists) and was told the it would cost $180. When I got there, they asked for payment up front and confirmed that the price was $180. Once I pulled out the coupon Fatima/Fery stated that she couldn't take it because: 1. There was a special for the day & prices were already discounted. 2. After I contested, she said my hair was too long and too thick and that the normal price would be $200. 3. After more discussion, she explained that the shop was taken over by her sister and that because her sister is new, she didn't know the correct prices when I called the day before. Other customers had similar experiences with varying prices while I was there. 2. It took ten hours for large Senegalese twists. I went to another shop earlier this year and got the same style. It only took 5 hrs and that's with one braider. 3. The very next day several braids unraveled and the hair was shedding everywhere. This has to be the cheapest hair I've ever had and the braider was not as good as she should have been. Summary - don't waste your time or money!

I went on Yelp to look for Dominican hair salons and after calling this salon, they had availability for the same day. They accommodated me with no problem and I was able to get my hair dyed. Elena, the hair stylist, was super fun and sweet to be around. I really loved her energy and she made my experience at the salon really comfortable. I am happy to say Elena was able to accommodate me and make sure that my new hair color matched the tips of my hair. My roots grew out so they were dark brown and Elena dyed my hair for the first time and succeeded at matching the color of my tips! I really appreciate her.

Another client came in and wanted twist, because the Bridgett was the only one that could do twist I had to switch to the other lady. I was ok with that until she started braiding my hair too tight.
