This place is dishonest and the staff is rude, especially the owner, Robb. They basically stole my…read moremother's computer equipment, and then humiliated her and yelled at her in front of other customers when she went into the store to enquire about it. She had dropped off her computer for possible repair, and if it couldn't be repaired, she was going to purchase a "new" refurbished machine. She left messages with the store which were not returned. So she went in in person to ask what was going on, and Robb told her that her computer had been "trashed." They had made no effort to contact her to let her know that was going to happen, and she had even left messages with them they hadn't returned. She had files on that hard drive that she was given no opportunity to attempt to recover. Despite being upset about that, she was asking about the possibility of buying the refurbished machine they'd spoken about, and Robb basically kicked her out of the store, by yelling at her and saying that she is "obviously broke." My mother is sick, elderly, and posed no threat to him whatsoever. She had fully intended to spend her money at A-1, until that day. She chose to take her business elsewhere, and now has a brand-new computer from Staples that she bought for less money than A-1 was going to charge for the comparable refurbished machine. I was so upset that this happened and how they'd treated her that I called the store, following up, to attempt to find out why things went down the way they did and why they'd just thrown my mother's computer away without making an effort to contact her. I spoke with a sympathetic-sounding clerk, who took my info and said he'd ask Robb to get back to me. That was weeks ago, and I never heard from him.

This place is a rip-off! The prices are based on what they think they can get out of you! They put…read morea virus on my computer when I took it to them for an update! Just so I would bring it back to them! Well that didn't work on me! I took it some place else!

They provide you a quick quote (very competitive), timely repair & turnaround, always meeting expectations. To top everything off, the entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I took my iPhone 14 Pro Max to GUI in Winchester on July 6 after it developed the "white screen of…read moredeath." The phone still responded to touch, but the display was completely white. They replaced the screen, and that issue was fixed. Over the next week, I started noticing problems that I had never experienced before the repair. During phone calls, if I held the phone to my ear and then pulled it away to switch to speaker so I could look something up or use my phone while talking, the screen would stay completely black and I couldn't access it. The only way to use my phone again was to wait until the other person hung up. I also stopped receiving wake-screen notifications--the phone would vibrate and make a sound, but the display wouldn't turn on. Before going back to the store, I waited a full week to make sure it wasn't a software issue and even reset my phone, but the problems continued. I went back on July 13, and the technician gave me two options: leave my phone for a couple of days for diagnostics or replace the screen again. Since I couldn't be without my phone because of doctor appointments, bills, and other responsibilities, I chose to have the screen replaced again. When I returned today ( July 18) to finally leave it for diagnostics, I was told that a diagnostic test had actually been done on July 13 &' everything came back normal. This was never mentioned to me at the time until today. The technician then said he never told me diagnostics would take a couple of days only a couple of hours, even though that's what I understood from our previous conversation. Instead of offering a solution, he suggested I just buy a new phone, even though I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, which isn't an old device. I paid $208 for the original screen replacement, and every issue I'm experiencing started only AFTER the repair. I left feeling like my concerns were dismissed and that I wasn't being taken seriously. The technician came across as rude, and I was disappointed by the lack of communication, accountability, and customer service. I simply wanted my phone fixed properly and my concerns addressed.

She…read morewas slow to respond to emails and texts and doesn't always answer the phone or promptly reply to voice mail messages. Once payment and schedule were worked out, she came to our house and replaced the screen. As soon as she was done, she suspiciously left in a hurry. Later I checked my phone, and the back button wasn't working. Not in a hurry and not wanting to bother her, I waited a week and then contacted her about the problem. She wanted another $106 paid upfront to fix what she should have checked in the first place. My suspicion is that either a cable didn't get connected, or, in replacing the screen, a cable accidentally got cut. Either way, the back button was working before she touched the phone, and now it is not. And the back of the phone looks horrible, with the backing torn. Her shirt advertised a warranty. I asked her about it, and she no longer has a warranty, to which I say false advertising. Her website advertises prices, about half of what I paid for my specific phone. When I asked she gave some excuse. Again, false advertising. False advertising, difficult to work with, manipulative, miscommunication, non-communication, and didn't do the job correctly. But she does professionally work through some conflicts and send lengthy emails defending herself when necessary.
