Very clean, the rules and regulations are strictly enforced, but kindly! The guys here are always in a good mood, and they'll make it easy to get started. You're not gonna find your average "angry range fudd" here. Everyone I've met has been helpful, kind, talkative, FUN, and respectful. They offer great community, membership pricing, and events!

I wanted to go shooting because it's been a while since I sent some lead downrange. As well, my brother wanted to go shooting. He was specific that he wanted to go to an outdoor range with more than 25 years because he wanted to sight in his rifle. Louland fit the bill even though it's pretty far from just about everything. Down a dirt road past the clay shooters, we found the pistol and rifle bays and parked. The gent working today checked our membership ($25) and gave us a five minute talk about the range rules and how things operate. Hot range, cold range, when you can move about with your weapon, how quick you can shoot, all of that stuff that is critically important to feel comfortable when you're around strangers who can make fatal mistakes. When the range was cold, he checked every station and then we were permitted to go down range and set up our targets. That went great but there was one dude who TWICE was back at the counter touching his equipment. The range master told him off and I'd have been okay with once, but the second time, he should have tossed the guy from the range. I spent the rest of my time there keeping an eye on this guy. Other than that, it's great to shoot outdoors where the noise is much better (but still super loud) and you can shoot twenty five yards and fifty yards and more. Not great for pistols when you really want closer range targets. If the bad guy is 25 yards from me, I'm not going to be shooting, I'm going to be running. But I still did okay with my dinky .380 caliber pistol that only has a 2.75 inch barrel, hitting the target reasonably well. It was good to cycle some rounds through it and ensure that everything still works. The range accepts cash only and there is a vending machine with some cold drinks. Remember, you're in Florida and it gets hot. In the summer, bring bug repellent! [Review 16737 overall - 1464 in Florida - 249 of 2022.]
