My husband loves this place and we are nowhere near any of their actual retail locations. He shops their online store, places his order, and picks up his firearm at our local gun shop. He has told me often that their prices, especially sale prices, are very good. So much so that he will purchase from them even though he also has to pay shipping and FFL fees. He has yet to be disappointed with Impact Guns in anyway except one. A few times it took a few days longer for the gun to get shipped out that anticipated, but otherwise he has always been a happy camper. I am also supposed to add that Impact Guns makes their own magazine extensions for a few popular compact guns. He has several of them and really likes them a lot. read more

After purchasing a HK VP9SK from the internet sales department, I drove up to the Ogden Impact Guns location to pick it up that night. When I arrived, I waited in line for the sales person to finish a transfer for the lady in front of me. As I stood there, I overheard the salesperson tell her that 18 years olds can't "own, purchase or shoot" any firearms. Having worked in law enforcement and being a concealed Instructor, I said, "Are you sure about that?" He then said, "Not in our store." Ok? Eventually, it was my turn and the same sales person directed me over to the computers to fill out the Form 4473 for the transfer. As we were over there, he said, "It's a nice gun! You're really gonna like it." I said, "Well it's not for me -- it's for my Wife as a gift." He immediately got a panicked look on his face and said, "That's not ok!" I said, "Yeah -- it is. It's a gift." to which he responded, "The ATF doesn't think so!" So, I thought I was in an Impact Guns store? I guess I was wrong and now I'm in an ATF office. I said, "Whatever dude, I'm not gonna argue with you." Right then, my Wife walked up, unknowing of the conversation at hand and said, "Is that it? Can I look at it?" This Salesperson/Attorney/ATF Special Agent says, "No! This is not your firearm." Now he's disrespecting my Wife. I said, "You know what Bud? You're not an Attorney, k? I didn't come here to have you try to teach me about gun laws! So finish the paperwork so we can finish the transfer and be gone!!" He said, "You know what? If I feel like you're doing something illegal, I can cancel this sale right now!" to which I reminded him that there's about 25 other guns stores between that store and my house and to go ahead. He then got a Manager. The Manager came over and the salesperson "briefed" him on his side of the conversation. The Manager said, "Sure she can look at it. There's nothing wrong with that." The salesperson didn't like that and said, "You finish the transfer!!" and walked off. So now the Manager is doing the paperwork, asked me what happened, I told him and he said, "Well -- you're both right. He's right for saying he can cancel the sale and you're right for saying you can gift it to your Wife." We finished the paperwork and left. Seldom do I ever post reviews on Yelp, but this is not only not the first time the customer service has absolutely sucked at this store, but this store has a bad reputation in general. The only reason we came here is because they had a sale on the firearm and it was the cheapest store in the valley. "You get what you pay for", huh? This store is full of a bunch of gun-totin' tough guys who obviously know nothing about the laws, but use the "ATF" as an excuse to try to bully you. Never again!! P.S. Hey Impact? Ordered a rifle through them, payed for faster shipping and it still took them 3 weeks for a call saying it was ready for pick up. After i went to pick it up they said i needed an in state drivers license. After i got that, i returned to pick up my gun and they said since i ordered a (complete) lower receiver, i had to be 21 to buy it. Couldnt they of said that the 5 times ive been in there before looking to pick it up or even when i called them to say i was sending a lower receiver to them? I ordered a gun on 12/2 which Impact Guns showed as being in stock. It was supposed to ship in 2 to 4 days. It did not ship during that period so I contacted them and was told that it was at an offsite warehouse and therefore would take 6-9 days to ship. I told them it could be shipped from China quicker than that. It finally showed as being shipped on 12/14 at 10 PM. I received the gun on 12/19. So it was shipped in 9 business days. I found that unacceptable based on what their website claimed. I gave them two stars instead of one because I was able on multiple attempts to quickly get someone on the phone. Here is my bottom line: If you choose to order a gun online, carefully check the reviews in advance. If I had done this I would not have ordered from Impact Guns. Also, there are clearly some scams out there. Be careful. read more

After placing my order and sending in my check, I got an email saying they needed to call in to "verify info" I called in and she asked about my dealers license- which was confusing because I had already uploaded it. She was very condescending and impatient as I was looking it up (they didn't say in the email that's what they were missing). Weeks go by and I'm thinking "where's the gun?" I called in to check- "oh we were waiting to hear from you. We sent you an email on the 1st explaining there's damage to your box, so we can give you $25 off if you still want it" I said "the only email I got was to verify info.." "Yes sir thats the one, we didn't hear back so what you want to do?" "I was talking- I called in after that email- she didn't say anything about the box" What do you want to do sir? "Ok you're blaming me here- but the email doesn't say anything about box damage and I called in and she didn't say anything about a box" ".....are you still there?" "Yes sir what you wanna do?" Their site malfunctions regularly including not maintaining the credit card info provided at time of purchase, not updating timely once credit card info provided multiple times. Customer service via phone and email is very poor. Their condescension and impatience is very disappointing, especially when the contact is relating to their site and misleading, inaccurate emails. Kayla is the customer service manager and she's no help whatsoever. She has no business being a customer service manager and it's now unsurprising that the rest of her team acts the way they do with their customers given the example they have to follow. read more

I purchase a silencerco Hybrid suppressor on clearance over the weekend. Called the customer service number first thing on Monday and chatted with a nice lady on the phone to confirm my order. She look up my order number, told me they received my FFL information and then told me my order went through. At the end of my conversation with her I said , "just wanted to call and confirm everything went through" she said yes. Next day i received a email stating my order got cancelled. Great place to go once you've been there a couple times and the staff gets familiar with your face. They are all friendly once you get to know them. The range it's also great, I'd recommend to just have good ear protection it echos pretty loud. Buy online and pick up in store because it has better discounts than in store. read more

After reading online reviews I was interested in the Ruger LCP and found out they had one available to test fire at Impact Guns indoor range. I decided to try it out for myself and see what I think. So I walk up to the counter and say I'm interested in firing the gun and immediately the guy tells me "You don't want that gun." I'm thinking, I want to find out for myself. Then he started hard selling another gun, but at the same time not paying any attention to me at all. They look almost identical, except the other gun costs about twice as much and shoots 9mm instead of .380. So I decide to try them both. I asked twice, and then finally had to just state outright "Let me try them both to compare." He takes my driver's license and I go into the range. They felt almost identical, and the shots from both guns grouped together. I can't tell the difference, so I'm thinking I like the cheaper one. Then I have to wait just to return the guns. The guy was so condescending that I just left frustrated. An hour later I get a phone call telling me that they still have my driver's license. He tells me I have to pick it up before 7:30. I'm close to Salt Lake by this time. So I drive all the way back and get there at 7:15. The store was closed up, locked, and there's nobody in sight. This tipped me over the edge. I would have given it 1 star if it weren't for the fact that they have a huge selection and the test fire was free. I'm wondering if all of the other one star reviews on here had to deal with that same employee. Everyone else looked like they were engaging and helpful, but whoever I dealt with was a real butt face. Update: I went back on Monday to pick up my driver's license. There was a different man at the counter who seemed pleasant enough. He handed me my license, and then on my way out I passed by the other employee who I had originally met. He literally looked me over and scoffed. I can't believe any business would allow someone with that kind of attitude to continue working there. read more

Terrible customer service! I would give less than one star if I could, after over a month of an order pending I finally called and asked what their deal was. Turns out my order couldn't be filled and went into a back order status, however there was no communication during this period and no notification as to the status of my order going into back order. A customer service representative told me that in addition to not being able to fill my order there could also be an increase in price or a change in the product when a new shipment did come in, as well as the potential that my order could not be filled again in the future if they received a small resupply. In my opinion this is horrendous customer service and after this one incident they've lost my business in the future. Put your money where it's used best and shop local. This is a mistake on my part trying to get a product that was hard to find and ordering online, but I didn't expect service this bad from what appears to be a well-established company. read more

This would be my second attempt in purchasing a firearm from Impact Guns and both times I cancelled my order due the the duration I was made to endure after the proposed ship date. This last firearm (887 Remington shotgun) order was placed on 9/27/13 and was said to be "in stock now!!!" and would ship on or before 10/6/13. The purpose of this firearm was to be given as a present for my brother birthday on 10/21/13. 10/8/13 passed with no word until I contact them and inquired about the status of my order. They informed me that it had to be shipped from their vendor and 10/12/14 would be the new ship date. I thought to myself "in stock now!!!" means absolutely nothing to them. 10/16/13 passed and I called to inquire about my firearm once again and again not exact date; I was told that they haven't even received it yet!!! They offered to pay for the shipping or upgrade on shipping (it should have been both in my opinion). 10/18/13 a formal cancelation of my firearm was sent to Alex at Impact Guns. I will never waste anymore time on this business or the lack of one to say the least. Now I'm in a river full of shit with no paddle while thinking of an apology for the lack of a birthday gift to my brother! read more

I can not say enough about what a great experience I had with the staff at this place . I can not believe they have only a few stars . For one the parking lot is always full so they can't be that terrible?? Ok so either way My experience was beyond perfect . The guy that helped us spent over an hour answering all of our questions and addressing any of our concerns . We were highly informed about each gun we were interested in and he even went over the bullets . He was never condescending or even bored with our questions. I left feeling super excited about being a strong women that not only carries a gun but understands the responsibility of truly knowing how to use it . I actually talked to someone about a Kimber and the person had no idea what he was talking about. The last straw was when I went to the range and arrived at 6pm. They close at 7. Terrible!!!! I ordered a "new" Ruger SR1911 Custom that was supposed to be smithed and tuned with $500 worth of work. The sight was put on visible crooked and the trigger had more slack the any of my stock 1911's. Worse, the gun have dent in the frame, severe barrel wear and the trigger was so loose it registers a different weight with each trigger pull. I paid over $1300 for this!!!! The average retail price for a stock sr1911 is $649-$699... I paid $799 + $500 in custom work. I contacted them and they offered me $60 for my trouble or I could send it back to have them "try again". When it comes to firearms, perhaps they should learn how to do it right and quit trying. I have only browsed here for about 15 minutes, so obviously, please read the reviews beyond mine. They had a decent selection of firearms/suppressors/etc.. At today's prices, they were actually just above average. I saw a nice selection of industry standard top shelf stuff such as LWRC, HK, Barrett 50 cal rifles, etc. They had a suchka / krinkov, which I am partial to, but I didn't step in close for a gander at the receiver or tag. Later on I found out that they actually encourage you to step up and check out the rifles they have on the shelf without asking. Obviously, don't be an idiot. Check the weapon's condition if you know how to operate it, don't be careless with the muzzle and keep your appendages off of the F'n bang switch. A nice selection of Glocks, which I was happy to see. They didn't have any wander up and touch handguns, but that's certainly understandable probably for loss prevention reasons. I didn't use their range. I'm an outdoor shooting type of fellow. They looked pretty slim on nylon gear, but since most gun enthusiasts just plink or do low level defensive training that's not critical. read more

Their "online chat" feature on their website doesn't do anything, and when calling either their phone system tells you to call back because they're not open (when they are), or that all circuts are busy. Not sure that these people even run a business. Stay away, it will be weeks until you get anything, even a response, any other place is better. read more

Unacceptable behavior. Placed an order, had to call them two weeks later in order to have the item shipped. Lied about it being in stock on their website and told me they had to receive it from a vendor. Then proceeded to blame me for not calling them to check their emails! My FFL received the handgun late and I live in California, so by the time my FFL received the handgun, it fell off the DoJ Roster. I asked if they would compensate for all the mistakes that were made and for the SSE that had to be done on the handgun, and they refused to! Absolutely horrible customer service on all ends of the spectrum. This was my first and final order from them, they lost my business for good and that of people I know. PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. Received product 10 days after ordering. I bought a "brand new" KP9 from these guys. Once the item arrived the gun did not have the bolt lock plastic on it when I opened in front of th person from dealership the gun was shipped to. I did not think much of it. Once coming home, I started noticing a lot of cosmetic damages from outside. Then once I checked inside the gun the bolt looks like it had been through 1000s of round and spring was blacked up and greased. Bolt had black fouling on it as well. Together these made my hands black from tou hing the parts from outside. There is no way the gun was brand new and this company is a total scam. I called their customer service after picking up the gun from store an hour later. The lady says somewhere in purchase agreement they can not do anything after i take the shipping and refused to even acknowledge the issue. read more

The indoor shooting range is also nice and they have an assortment of guns to rent and test (even some that you might not see elsewhere). Give it a try before you hit the big box stores. read more

These guys do expect you to do your own homework first. But come on people, YOU'RE ABOUT TO BUY A FIREARM. DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK. Clay Rich is a great guy, he took the time to walk me around and show me the accessories I wanted to get with my new AR purchase. I have bought a few guns from them and have had others serviced here. I am VERY happy with the service and knowledge. The only room for improvement is pricing. They aren't the cheapest, but they aren't nearly as expensive as cabelas or sportsmans. I trust these guys to give me honest and upfront opinions. They have earned my repeat business and the range is great. read more

All the negative reviews must have had an impact. Someone there got their act together apparently. Read all the bad reviews and was hesitant but they supposedly had a pistol that is a unicorn today (brand new HK USP .40). Excellent price so I pulled the trigger. From the get go, the process was outstanding. Quick email updates, called customer service and they were on the ball. Pistol shipped out 2 days later and was at my FFL in 2 days flat. $14 shipping. To boot, the price was the lowest I've ever seen on this pistol for a brand new one and they didn't charge my credit card until after it shipped and they had sent me a tracking number. Arrived in perfect new condition. I am actually quite shocked at how well this went. I'll be ordering from them again after this one experience. Hopefully it was not a fluke. read more

I placed an order for an AR-15 that comes with a 30 rd mag on Bud's Guns website. It is not legal to buy or sell a 30 rd magazine in Maryland, but it is legal to posses one or bring it in to the state. They refused to let the FFL regulate it, they refused to ship the magazine to another state, they refused to swap the 30 rd magazine for a 20 rd, and they refused to remove the magazine from the order all together So, to summarize, Bud's refused to ship my firearm, then I canceled the order, then they collected my money and now they have been holding it for well over a week. I placed the same order at Impact Guns. Impact gave me the option to swap, remove, or work with the FFL to handle the 30 rd mag. They collected funds after they shipped. The firearm arrived at the FFL today. Impact Guns was very easy to use and their Customer Service was top notch. read more
