Later this year when she's 10 years old, assuming she continues to work hard, she will earn her junior black belt. Needless to say, we've had lots of experience with this program. What makes it so great? The people!!! We drive out of our way for this particular program. They know kids and how to relate with kids. I'm continually impressed in the character education and development. You can't put a price on these life lessons. We originally enrolled our daughter at a young age to assist her in developing her coordination and confidence. She's learning that she can do anything. Last fall she was a third grade female, jr. Pee Wee football player. It never occurred to her that this isn't mainstream. In the same breath, she rocks a delicate yoga pose. I know the day will come that my daughter will choose to move on with all she's learned. Martial Arts America and ALL THE INSTRUCTORS will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you, MAA

Any who, we checked out Flashback after speaking to one of the owners, Jina. We gave it a week's trial, and really love the fun way coach Jesse and Jina (husband & wife) teach the classes. They are playful and very nice, but firm and expect respect from the kids. It was perfect for my son. There is plenty of 1-1 training too, and great examples, in addition to daily sparing where the kids get to put what they learned to the test. Though we were not able to continue to go due to personal reasons, which was quite unfortunate, I would go back in a heartbeat if possible. My wife and son loved it otherwise. If you have a child (or yourself as an adult) wants to learn self-defense and a martial art's system that will be superior to Taekwondo and other forms of karate, then check this place out!

A good park for a lil' family reunion. Which is precisely…read morewhat I was there for! We reserved a large pavilion with grills, tables, and facilities (flushing toilets, you heathens). By the time I got there, my family had mostly set up the area, but there were several picnic tables and lots of space for our own lawn chairs as well as setting up some lawn games to play. The park is generously sized and has several large parking lots. There are playgrounds and, the main draw for many, is the beach area. Swimming was free and the sandy area was kept fairly tidy. There were lifeguards on duty, both on shore and at the raft with the slide and diving boards. You must be able to swim out there on your own and demonstrate a basic ability to stay afloat, in order to dive and whatnot. The water is a Wisconsin lake, so expect some algae and seaweed and even some fish. It is nature. Don't expect pristine-ness. I don't know when or if I will ever be back, but this is a nice park with a lot to offer .
