I was in dire need of a haircut and ran across this establishment. I called yesterday to book an appointment and did not get a response. I couldn't leave a voicemail since it wasn't set up. I then sent a text and Mr. Lopez responded. We set up a mobile appointment with one of his barbers for 5 pm today. He did not ask for my address and when I asked him if he needed it (since he was traveling to my hotel), I didn't get a response which raised a red flag. 5 pm comes and goes and I didn't hear from him. I reached out to ask if someone was coming, but I never got a response. I was disappointed because the shop's reviews were so positive. If you couldn't accommodate an appointment or had to cancel, just communicate that. No need to waste people's valuable time with horrible business practices. read more

You think you can only get a true fade in the city? Not true. Imperial Cutz in Schaumburg is for reals. They're spelling cuts with a z so you know they are legit. For a fade that uses no guards and razors, I normally go to the city. It just so happens that Imperial Cutz is a true barber shop where all of the barbers are from the city. I got a tight zero fade side part for $25 with 10% off after a Yelp check it. My barber, Junior, shaved my hair to the skin and faded the rest to the top which takes skill. I remember a time when you went to a new barbershop for the first time and the barber looked forward to making a lifetime customer. I guess not at this shop. Having been in the area I wanted to find a barber when I am in town that I can always go to. I checked Yelp and drove over at opening time. My barber, whose name I wont use here, was standing outside on his phone and invited me to his chair. He gave me a bald fade as I asked for. Nothing more nothing less. Then I asked him how much. He said $30. I nearly fell backwards. Never in my life have I paid so much for a haircut let alone a simple bald fade. I felt like he was ripping me off and I looked around the shop for the price list that is usually on the wall but there was none. He even looked at me like he knew he was wrong but I simply paid and leave. Lesson learned-ask a new barber how much he is charging you. Otherwise you risk being taken to the cleaners as I feel I was. Unfortunately I will never return. And my line was crooked to boot. read more

This is a great barbershop with a really chill, no-fuss atmosphere. Clientele includes all walks of life and all hair types. They have many different hair care products for all the various types of hair as well. I have been going to Issac for a few months and dude is definitely a cut above. Professional, personable and punctual. One unique thing here is they will share the clientele if circumstances dictate. For example, on one occasion I arrived for my appointed visit and Issac still had a head that he had just started on due to a backup. These things happen from time to time so I wasn't upset. However, he then asked another barber, Keith, to take care of me instead so I wouldn't have to wait. Keith gave me a great cut, exactly what I was looking for so I was thrilled. Since my son was in desperate need of a haircut, I decided to stay since there was no wait. When I requested for a simple comb over with the hard part, I assumed the gentleman understood the hairstyle I wanted for my son. I even told the barber where I wanted the fade at and not to exceed any higher. My son had the resting B*%#H face the entire time; not even my son like his haircut. I got a very original style here, but had so many bleeding spots on my scalp (from the close shave) and a ridiculous cut right under my nose (from the beard treatment's use of a razor), that I should have taken photos as warning for others. There was a few days of using Neosporin on my scalp and face to ensure I didn't end up with scar of any sort. I didn't see any of the tools in any sort of disinfectant, so what, all those tools that caused me to bleed get used on the next poor guy? Hmm. I thought this was going to be the shop for me but I was apparently mistaken. Two weeks ago made an appointment with Keith to come in (based on the reviews). Came in, cut was legit. Lining was on point, quick, even cut so I planned on coming back in two weeks. Hit Keith up earlier this week, made an appt for today at 3. 2 days ago, I accepted a job interview for today at noon so I hit up Keith & told him I need to come in at 11 if he can. He said ok. Came in, HE NEVER SHOWED UP. Texted him, still no show. I heard he's NEVER in the shop early so I wonder why he even accepted the appointment. So at 1125, I went ahead & had Donny give me a lining so I could make the interview (I was still late). After my lining, I told Donny I was coming back for my fade after my interview. I texted him & said I was coming at 2 if he didn't have any appointments. He said ok. Came at 2 & waited for NEARLY 2 HOURS before getting in the chair. Like c'mon, you could've told me you had appointments. I could've went HOME; this threw off my whole plans for the day. Not sure if I recommend this shop unless you just got time to burn. This used to be a great spot to get a clean fade. Since Isaac left, its obvious no one who works here cares about their customers/takes their job seriously. First time I made an appt with Marlon he kept me waiting for half an hr, and then was talking to his buddy in spanish the whole time he cut my hair. Im not racist, i just think its rude to completely ignore a customer and carry on another conversation for the whole cut. Had an appt this morning at 10 am with Marlon....nobody was even at the barber shop by 1015. The open sign was on though, so atleast i got to walk up to the door and look like an idiot. Absolutely great experience here, best decision we've made! The first time we were in the area, my boyfriend needed a haircut pretty bad so we actually stopped at the shop next door to this one, Mad Men Barber Shop. It was an alright cut, felt like your classic sport clips or super cuts, not bad but it was alright. We noticed Imperial Cutz as we were leaving and decided that the next time we would try this one instead. The second we walked in to this shop we were greeted right away and felt very welcome. While on a work trip, I was in desperate need of a haircut. After scouring Yelp for a while, reading countless reviews, and checking out the pictures of the work of several barbers, I decided to go to Imperial Cutz. I called ahead and spoke to Isaac who said he would take care of me. When I walked in, he was the only barber there at 12:30pm (which I find unfortunate for the other barbers as there were several patrons). In any event, I got a cut from Isaac and it was fantastic. He took his time, paid attention to minor details which really elevate a haircut. He was also a good conversationalist who took an interest in the work I do that brought me to Schaumburg all the way from San Francisco. I'd highly recommend Isaac to any other person looking for a good cut; I'd also like to add that the young man getting cut before was another person of color, seemingly of Asian descent, and his cut was just as impressive. I note that for those who are not black, and curious as to whether or not he can cut well the hair of other nationalities. Good job, Isaac! read more

This place is really good. I just moved to the area and I hit up yelp to find a barbershop. This was the place with best reviews and with reason. From the atmosphere to professionalism it is top notch. Isaac hooked me up with a cut and a shave. I am a really picky person when it comes to my beard and he delivered. I like that he pays attention to detail and makes sure he is going in right direction by asking if everything is fine (obviously for first time customers). Talented, energetic, and friendly are words that describe this busy barber lounge Schaumburg. I have been getting my haircut with Marlin since the shop opened. I have NEVER been disappointed with him, nor have I seen a bad haircut leave the barber shop, and never a disappointed client by any of the barbers. He is on time, professional, and very knowledgeable. I drive 40 minutes just to see him. All of the barbers here a great men with lots of skill; If you're searching for that one barber, you'll definitely find him here. I was in the Northwest Suburbs on Halloween weekend for a friend's wedding. I'm not from the area so I was clueless about where to go, so after looking on Facebook and Yelp I saw some reviews for Imperial Cutz. Marlon was able to fit me in that Saturday morning (even without an appointment). Usually as a walk-in I am hesitant to try new shops because you want to be respectful of those who might have appointments, but as a new "face" the barbers were very welcoming. He claims he took off 10 years It can feel a bit pricey at 25 bucks+ tips if you are used to the Great Clips of the world. I can usually get a good cut for 20 bucks at Hair Cuttery or Sports Clip.
