At my contractor's suggestion, I went to Imperial to find a 5.5" trim/casing to go around my garage door. Earlier thebsame dayI'd gone to Ganahl's lumber in Pasadena since it was closer to me. At Ganahl's I was treated with little care by a guy behind a desk who had no trim suggestions except either fiber cement board or redwood. HOWEVER, at Imperial Annie immediately suggested Bodyguard's 5.5" trim made for exterior applications. (I like the Bodyguard trim because it had eased edges that looked more finished than straight lumber edges). Annie explained how the pine product is double primed, etc. She called her supplier right away to see if they d it in stock which they did. She also showed me samples she's ordered for another client so I could see the quality of the product. In other words she took the time to care about what I was looking for. At Ganahl's they really didn't care about what I actually needed. My husband might prefer the redwood option(because it's a more "noble" wood than pine,) but I definitely prefer the great service at Imperial which is where I'd go for any future hardwood and moulding needs. read more

Ani was probably one of THE best sales representatives I have ever worked with. She helped me navigate the selection and purchasing process really swiftly, especially considering supply chain issues. She was very communicative, letting me know how much stock her suppliers had, when the material was ready for my contractor to pick up, and working directly with my contractor for material pick-up. Hovik deduced an issue with my planned flooring well in time to adjust and save a costly mistake. He's a flooring artist and a gentleman. Ani was more than professional, a pleasure to work with, and pushed a supplier to mill a step "nose" so the job could be completed in time for an event at our house. Seemingly not the absolute cheapest at first, but when you consider it was done 10x as quickly as the Orange Home Supplier could and to a much higher quality, It was worth a little extra. Followed the recommendations on Yelp and my experience could not have been more different. I needed a couple lengths of baseboard in Doug Fir. I called before heading over and talked to a man. He asked for the product number, I provided it and he said he had the moulding on MDF. I told him I wanted Doug Fir, not MDF, and asked for the price difference ($1.10/ft). He said he had it in stock. When I arrived today the same man told me he did not carry Doug Fir and said he could only provide MDF. Why do merchants do this? When someone takes the time to call about what you carry, just answer honestly and don't waste people's time. read more

As everyone says in their prior reviews, Ani is really ALL THAT and makes this place worth going to. ( and of course the prices were on point and less than our comparison at Home Depot for what we were looking for) She is the type of person you want to and wish you could work with every time you had to deal with any type of customer service. Especially in home repair project related vendors, where it can be difficult to find someone with good communication, helpful, and decent priced. Immediately upon calling and describing to her the type of quarter round we were looking for to match our baseboards we just put in ( bought from Home Depot), she offered for me to text her my pictures of our current baseboard area and our ideas and combinations of what would look good with it. We proceeded to text and communicate by phone several times until we had our order in place. Their prices are almost half less than Home Depot and offered the length we needed when HD didn't. Amazingly helpful, kind and they have huge selection. As far as selection goes, they have just about all kinds of floors you might need when it comes to laminate. We were looking for options for Gray laminates and ANI was very helpful and knowledgeable with all the questions we had, and even recommended cheaper options for almost identical looks for the Gray that we wanted. We were able to purchase all the floor boards we needed for our house from this one place and it only took 2 days to receive all the floors and moulding after ordering. Ani, sales rep at IH&M is very knowledgeable and personable. However, their price quote for what most flooring companies would consider as a small, or perhaps a tiny job, was excessively high! In fact, their price quote was higher than Lowe's and Home Depot. During these times, when home improvement companies are in their busy season, many just can't help themselves not to be tempted to over bid a job they are not really interested in doing it. My advice, get many bids until you find what you're looking for, at the price your willing to pay. They are out there, keep on truck'n till you find them. I found a great flooring company in Burbank. Initially, we just went to see a sample they carried in store. Ani helped us find the sample. She was aware we were working with a contractor and that we may not ultimately purchase from them. Regardless, she helped us compare several brands and laminate options. She explained in detail the pros and cons of considering regular laminate vs. waterproof vs. hardwood. We were so indecisive and looked at too many options. Ani genuinely cares about the customer, is super in tune with their needs and has a passion for flooring! Laminate pricing doesn't vary by much, so even before finding out the price, we knew that we'd be willing to pay a little more after the awesome customer service we had received. Came in on Friday day after thanksgiving for hardwood flooring for 2 rooms after a last minute delay with my contractor. We couldn't wait any longer and needed same day installation. They were great and honest up front. The recommended installers were Hrair and Zhiro from Z& H Hardwood and Tile. They delivered and installed everything including baseboards and molding. Very satisfied. The final price was about 1/2 of what my General Contractor was quoting. All I can say is WOW! We had been told to go to Van Nuys/No Ho to find what we were looking for but at 2PM on a Saturday, they were all closed. We walked in with a 20-year old scrap of moulding and right away one of the employees nodded his head and said yes. Within 10 minutes we had a 16' new piece of the sample we walked in with and the other moulding we had been looking for around town. Ani was extremely helpful and in regard to price.
