The Crab Rangoon had little to no cream cheese or filling and my wife's Low Mein was shit. We also got the Egg Rolls and they were like eating a Birds nest. Actually, it probably was a birds nest. $25 down the drain. We literally closed everything up put it back in the bag like it was fresh and set it outside. If you're looking for the best American Chinese in town and maybe the region, Imperial Palace is your place. My husband and I go here for lunch frequently and have tried many of the menu items. I liked nearly everything. The sauces for the foods are varied, so be sure to review the description of the dish to get the one you prefer. My favorite is the Princess Chicken as it is spicy and has a brown sauce with lower calorie count. My husband likes the Sweet and Sour Pork and it is my second choice. The lunch is served with rice, a cup of soup (hot and sour is our favorite.) 2 crab rangoons or an egg roll, hot tea, and a fortune cookie. For all of that the price is currently under $6. I nearly always have to ask for a box to take home as the servings are more than I can eat. I highly recommend the restaurant and the décor is great as well as the service. I think I go here often enough to call myself a regular. The food is always really good. My favorites are the peanut butter chicken, General Tso's chicken, beef and broccoli among others. The hot and sour soup here is some of the best I have had. The service is always excellent. The chicken used in both were noticeably poor cuts of meat and were prepared very poorly. I have had significantly better Chinese food at mall food courts that costed me half as much. We had reservations, a person from our party asked if it was under my last name, then they asked if they were Chinese??? (no we are not) After awhile we were seated by someone else and ordered. 30min latter they bring out the rice, 5 min latter we ask when we will be receiving our food, 5 min latter we get the food. They said they had a lot of take out orders which was why or food was delayed so long. Really?? Do I care about the take out orders? Absolutely one of the best places in lincoln. The food is delicious, service is good and take out is ready in ten minutes. The prices are reasonable $8 a meal for supper. They have awesome lunch specials. Obviously a lot of people in the area doesn't have very good taste when all the buffet restaurants have a four + star rating. The chicken was easily the worst I've had. 3 ingredients in there chicken, water chestnuts, and bamboo. Not an expert but I thought there was more. One measly pepper in there also. The sauce was some clear liquid only palatable by dumping in sweet and sour sauce. Rangoons were fine and the hot and sour soup needs more soy sauce. When we ordered our food online, we put in special instructions under the crab Rangoon, the egg rolls, and at the end of the order that we wanted hot mustard. Yes, 3 different places. No flavor and it smelled awful. The egg rolls were missing a very important ingredient, or it was so scarse you couldn't taste it, ginger... Where's the ginger??? Egg roll tasted like watery grease. Yuk. Makes me want to take my business elsewhere, I mean really, that is just inept. It was even on the ticket that we wanted the mustard. Good food - the best we've found in Lincoln so far. We moved from Kansas City earlier this spring and nothing beats Bo Lings there. But here, no luck so far. We had the General Tso's Chicken - so good! - and the Kung Pao Chicken - not good at all (almost no sauce and no peanuts). The crab ragoon were great, light and airy instead of thick and heavy. We'll definitely be ordering again, but next time, I'll try something different than the Kung Pao. read more

I used to go here as a kid, and it was one of the best restaurants in town. We came here while visiting my mom, and we couldn't believe how far downhill it's gone. The beef in the broccoli beef was so chewy it was nasty. The potstickers were equally poor in consistency, though the flavor was ok. The one redeeming dish was the green beans. While my homemade recipe is better, they were decent. I haven't tried other Chinese restaurants in Lincoln, but I certainly won't be back to this one. read more

I have been a customer of Imperial Palace for about 35+ years, since coming to Lincoln for college. When Stan and his wife were there, it was always a high quality, great customer service experience. In the last few years, that has not been the case. The last couple of times I've gotten take out, something was missing and I didn't realize it til I was home, of course. The last few times we've eaten there, the service was extremely poor. Last Friday was my worst experience EVER. There were four of us, we ordered and got our appetizer quickly, and then we waited, and we waited, and we waited. Meanwhile, two tables that were seated after us got their food. Finally, got our rice, and then waited and waited some more. First two of our four meals come out. Another 5 minutes go by and 1 more meal comes out. Another 10 minutes later our fourth person was served her meal, 15 minutes after the first 2 got theirs. WITH NO APOLOGY or EXPLANATION. When I asked what the delay was, I was told "lots of deliveries tonight". I am sorry, but deliveries should come AFTER you are serving the customer who has taken the time to come to your restaurant. To me, this was unacceptable. I doubt that we will be back, sorry to say. There are certainly lots of Chinese restaurants in this town and I will bring my business to the ones who appreciate me as their customer. read more

Great food, good prices. The waitresses however, are not very friendly.My complaint is that in July when its very hot out, they bring you warm cans of pop! Yes, they put ice in the glass, but warm pop melts the ice very quickly then you just have warm pop. Szechuan menu is the best in town. Just make sure you order from the authentic Szechuan part of the menu. The rest is generic Americanized Chinese food. I eat here at least every two weeks if not more often. The green beans, authentic Kung Pow and beef in red hot oil are some of my favorites, but there are loads of other great things on the menu. Don't fool yourself into thinking this is the same restaurant it was 10 yrs ago. Never again! My husband and I went here to order takeout for a family dinner. We ordered and sat down to wait and wait. A box of food was brought out and everyone working there walked past us and it for 10 minutes. My husband went up and finally asked and the guy that took our order said"that's not yours" and walked off. A bag is brought out and again ignored. After a bit my husband went up and had to flag someone down. He grudgingly threw some fortune cookies in the bag and shoved it at my husband. We were sorry we seem to have put them to so much trouble. I'd love to say the food was good, believe me, but it was really nasty.
