Been coming to the shop for about a year now. My nephew who's 6yo and my brother in law were the ones who told me about the place. Place is always clean and the most I have waited for a haircut is 5 min, they always have someone ready to take the next customer. My barber there is Lou and again like the shop its the people that work there that make the experience worth wild. He isn't the type of barbers who is just there to get you in and out of the chair. He takes pride in his work as any artist should. One big thing that used to get me ticked off about the other shops and barbers I came in contact with is that if they got a personal call or text or someone they knew walked into the shop they would stop whatever they were doing with me and continue a conversation. This is the only place that I bring my boys to. I've been using Jason since day one. Polite and knows how to work with my boys because trust me, they are not the easiest guys to work with! When it comes to tipping, I always give what they deserve. In Jason's case, his station is always, and I mean ALWAYS clean. I'm sorry but I am picky. I do not want my sons head's to be touched with who knows what. Since day once I ask if I can have a look at his machines and they were all clean. My oldest had what is called a "Ring Worm" from another barber shop I used in Bayonne NJ. Ever since then I check all machines! I've used 2 other guys from Imperial Barbershop. I know the one guy's name was Luie. I forgot the second barber's name. They both deserved the same tip that I give to Jason. Clean and they know EXACTLY what they are doing. I moved to jersey city about 7 months ago from Long Island and it has been very difficult finding a new barber. It has been so bad that I've drove back to Long Island a few times to get a haircut from my old barber a few times; that is until now! I read the reviews about street fame online and decided to give it a try. The style that each person has made me feel comfortable along with the typical barbershop conversations (I.e., like the ones you would have with friends). After sitting and watching the different barbers for 10 minutes or so, I decided to have Hollywood Lou cut my hair after seeing him do a good job on the previous person. The haircut was done exactly how I wanted it for he first time since moved to New Jersey and I am happy to have found a barber close to home. 100% recommend this place. read more

I've been going to this barbershop since I was about 17yrs old and now I'm 23. I've never had a bad experience throughout the years that I've been getting my haircuts. My barber is Jae and he's most reliable person to get your cut with. He's always on time when you set an appointment & even if you don't have an apportionment walk-ins always good. He makes sure you leave looking your best. Actually takes his time when working so that it can come out perfect. The environment is very welcoming. All of the barbers are friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they're doing. If you want to be in a place where you'll also have a good time and laughs this is the right one for you. As a mother to a 4 year old son I would get anxiety on where and who to take my son to for a haircut. A cousin of mine told me about his barber Hollywood Lou who also cuts his 3 year old son's hair. I was skeptical but once I saw how good my cousin and his son's cut looked I definitely had to take my son there as well and so I did. The following day I took my son to Imperial Barbershop and I must be honest: NOONE has ever given my son such a great cut as Lou does. I'm pretty difficult when it comes to my hair. I'm very particular about it, and I'm 30 you have to be. Most places I've been they cut the way they want to cut your hair, or they pushing your line back. Not here I've been coming for a few years and this is my place of choice. Amazing shop, clean, on time, and professional. I will continue to go here as long as I can. Unlike most other barbershops where u either have to wait, your in and out the chair in 10min or you think its more of a party or get together rather then a place of business, imperial is none of those things. My particular barber is jae, I have deep waves and don't trust many people cutting my hair the correct way. Hollywood Lou is the barber on the first chair to the right when you walk into Imperial Barbershop. They're all good but Lou great, that's my barber. I don't ever let anyone cut my hair besides him. Good atmosphere in this barbershop. Everyone says hello when you walk in. They all can cut hair well. I've never seen anyone leave with a bad haircut. They keep the place clean and the bathroom is clean as well. They also have a vending machine if you need a quick snack. I highly recommend this place. Check the guys out. read more

Have to say a very clean barbershop. Came in a little timid because i thought my hairstyle was too "different" for them to achieve but my tight and sharp comb over with faded sides was perfect.
