This store was suggested to me by a bridal shop employee who said I could buy trim myself to decorate my veil. We came in looking for trim, the owner was too busy looking at his phone to help us. I asked the other person behind the counter to see 2 different trims, he refused to show me the second one and was literally arguing with me and raising his voice telling me the 2 trim is EXACTLY the same as the first. I have no idea why I even decided to buy this trim from them, after the worker literally insulted me in front of my mother in law and friend, and other customers by yelling at me that it's the same trim. All I said back to him was: hey, I'm sorry you're having a bad day, but there is no reason to be rude to me. I wanted to get the trim on that day but they did not have enough of it. The owner, Benjamin, took the money, $100 cash, and my address, and told me it would be sent out to me in about eight days. This was on June 8, now it is August 5. I have been back last month, asking him again where my trim is, he told me that he will send it, he will put in order in, but I still have not received it. He also told me he would not refund my money. His justification was: Sorry, I don't have the trim, I will make an order, why are you upset , it's only $100. He suggested I pick something out for that money. I'm not a seamstress and I don't need any other trim. I am simply getting married and I need one piece of trim. That's what I ordered. Extremely rude. I have texted him, and have not received any answer from him. Big mistake ordering anything from this shop- they will take your money and not ship it. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Went in to buy $14 worth of merchandise handed over $100 received $7 back from merchant. Unfortunately I did not realize how short of change I was 20 min after they closed. They are "claiming" that the register wasn't over but sadly they don't know with what they start with or it's a straight out LIE. I'm sure the camera caught $100 not a $20 bill. Shopping in DTLA is a buyer beware experience. Don't go in expecting this "I'm the customer and should be catered too" mantra. If you need help, ask for it. A lot of these businesses deal in wholesale and the majority of customers these businesses do deal with, know what they want and don't need to be "upsold". This place has what we've needed when we've needed. Because timing is always an issue, we are in and out in under 15 minutes. This place is great and has the items we've always needed. Had a costume project that I was dreading, as trim, beads, feathers and all that jazz was needed... not sure if it was the project itself or that fact that we had to make the drive to downtown LA what we were dreading. Large variety of items, but I cannot say that I am satisfied with my purchase nor the service. I was recommended this place for a quality bodice, but I'm not sure that's what I received. I like the trim attachment I got for $20, but I was charged $85 for a bodice that is missing literally 100+ crystals and multiple pieces of string pulling off of it. When I inquired about it, Benjamin said I wouldn't notice although some of the bodice continued to come apart as he handled it. He then proceeded to fold it up and put it in a bag so of course it was a tangled mess once I got to my destination. I then had to go to another store to buy more crystals to fill in the gaps on the dress and ended up cutting the string that was spiraling out of control. Another one of the crystals actually ended up falling off as I was showing the rep at another store. A truly frustrating and expensive experience. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

First time at this place a few days ago, looking for a bridal rhinestone belt. I regret I didn't catch the names whom I interacted with, but the guy with the curly hair behind the showcases was really nice and helpful. Helped me find what I was looking for. But then I was led to the cashier to finalize my purchase, she wasn't friendly at all when I greeted her. She showed disinterest and was hurried while she was texting on her phone while finalizing my transaction. Very tacky, poor customer service skills, and just plain rude! Horrible customer service. Large variety of items yet they were so rude and not helpful at all. We entered the store and were actually ignored, not a greeting or acknowledgement. After looking around for at least 15 minutes unassisted. I walked towards the back where the staff were gathered together chit chatting and all three of them glanced in our direction with cold straight faced glares. I smiled yet was very put off with their unmet unfriendliness. There weren't any other customers in the business at the time so it's not as though they were busy helping anyone else. I guess their conversations amongst one another or huddled activities were more important than assisting customers and making a sale. I value customer service and was totally put off by this establishment. Rudeness and not accommodating the inquisitive nature of pleasant customers is totally unacceptable. Cool store with many beautiful things. Problem is, first off they don't consistently keep the same things in stock. SO if you make or design things that require materials from this store, you better buy in bulk as the next time you need to duplicate an item made with their materials, you very well may be out of luck. I'm currently in a position where I will have to refund a client over a 185 bucks, because the items I need to duplicate a piece she wants are not in stock and wont be for 2 to 3 weeks as the girl that answered the phone stated.. Ummm okay. Secondly, I know this shop is in downtown LA, but customer service is a bit icy. I have never been asked if I needed help, and I always have to make my way over to one of the girls doing whatever at the counter for help. This place is simply amazing. I went to downtown looking around for all sorts of rhinestone appliques buckles, and other things that could help me decorate the venue for my sisters bridal shower. I looked around in many different stores in the area, and found that imperial trim by far offered the best prices in the area. I was able to get small beautiful rhinestone buckles for the invitations. The invitations came out mind blowing. I also got many beautiful lace and rhinestone applique for candle and vase decorations. All which came out to a great price. not to mention the great customer service.
