I had to have an expansive filling removed and replaced and felt no pain. I keep repeating it because it amazes me so much to not feel pain at the dentist. Dr. Castro was also great about talking through everything that would be done and asking permission about doing things. He uses the most advanced technological equipment I have witnessed at the dental practices I've been to in the last 10 years. Old crown removal, repair of underlying tooth, measurement of area, creation of new tooth and the permanent placement all happened in one hour. I have to add that the procedure he used to numb the area was pleasant to say the least. Patience and precision on his part took most of the pain and anxiety away. My first appointment included a checkup and cleaning. Dental hygienist Sharon gave my teeth the most thorough cleaning I've experienced in a long time. Her friend's son was organizing a Blood Drive in conjunction with the annual Blood Drive that a dentist's office in Kailua sponsors every 4th of July weekend. Hmmm... She knows that I am a regular blood donor. I was scheduled to donate in June, and I juggled my schedule around so that I could support two worthwhile projects at the same time! This event was well organized with live music; free shared parking in the lot next to Jack In The Box on Oneawa Street; and goodie bags for donors! It made me want to participate every year! If you're able to donate blood, please consider signing up for a convenient bloodmobile near you - or at the Dillingham or Young Street locations of the Blood Bank of Hawaii. Thanks to Dr. K.B.
