I spent over a month working with CarMax to have a vehicle transferred from Nevada. There were some…read moreminor back-and-forth issues during the process, but the real problem was the window tint. The vehicle had window tint that is legal in Nevada but illegal in Colorado. The rear windows are limo tint and the front windows were around 28%. I told the agent I was working with at least eight separate times that I could not purchase the vehicle with that tint. Not only is it illegal in Colorado, it also makes the car very difficult to drive at night. Each time, I made it clear that the tint would need to be removed before I could buy the car. To pick up the vehicle, I drove about 1.5 hours south while my mother drove about an hour north to meet me there. When I arrived, they attempted to sell me the vehicle with the illegal tint still on it, despite all the previous conversations where I had specifically asked that it be removed. What is most frustrating is that no one ever told me they would refuse to remove the tint. If they had simply told me that ahead of time, I would have saved three hours of driving and a completely wasted trip. Instead, I showed up only to find out the car was not something I could legally buy or safely drive. Chris at that location (I don't know his last name, and there are two of them) repeatedly assured me things would be handled, but in the end nothing was resolved. The entire experience was extremely disappointing. After this experience, I hope to never do business with CarMax again, especially this location. If you are considering buying a car from here, I would strongly encourage you to think carefully and consider other options. My experience with their customer service was extremely poor, and it felt like my concerns as a customer simply didn't matter.

15 Days With My 2026 Corvette -- No Completed Diagnosis or Repair!…read moreUnfortunately, my experience at Mike Maroone Chevrolet North was disappointing from the first impression through the final outcome. I had a scheduled service appointment for my 2026 Corvette Stingray on July 20, 2026, with Johnny Herrera as my service advisor. When I pulled into the service drive directly in front of Johnny's desk, I wasn't acknowledged. Another service advisor eventually approached, asked if I had an appointment, checked and said, "Oh, you're with Johnny." That was my first impression. I left the Corvette with an engine/transmission concern. I ultimately picked it back up on August 4--15 days later--without the problem being diagnosed or repaired. During those 15 days, Johnny communicated periodically, but the updates remained essentially the same: no new information, the vehicle hadn't made it into the shop, or they were waiting for a transmission technician. I understand that dealerships get busy and C8 Corvettes may require specialized technicians. My issue isn't that the diagnosis couldn't be completed immediately. My issue is that North accepted and retained my Corvette for 15 days despite apparently not having the technical resources available to move the diagnosis forward. The transmission technician became an obvious single point of failure, yet expectations continued to be extended instead of simply telling me they couldn't get to the vehicle. After a promised completion date passed without further communication, I visited on a Saturday. Johnny initially didn't recognize me until I reminded him, "black Corvette." He then explained they would probably need it through the following week, possibly longer, because the transmission technician was working on another C8. Eventually, I stopped asking for updates. On August 4, I arrived unannounced and asked Johnny for my keys and Corvette back. He brought it around and apologized that he hadn't been able to do much with it. I left. The same problem returned September 1: check-engine light, Engine and Transmission System fault and "IDLE CREEP DISABLED." This time I contacted April Kuntzsch at Mike Maroone Chevrolet South. The contrast began immediately. When I arrived, April walked directly to my Corvette, greeted me with "Michael?", an extended hand and a welcoming smile. More importantly, she scheduled my Corvette when South could actually get it in front of the appropriate technician. I dropped it off September 2. By the morning of September 3--less than 24 hours later--it was diagnosed, repaired and ready for pickup. South documented ECM P073E and TCM P0776, P2856 and P2854. The TCM calibrations were out of date. They programmed the TCM, performed the required GDS Fast Learn and rechecked the vehicle. South also diagnosed my nonfunctioning rear parking alerts and discovered both Parking Assist Module connectors were disconnected. They reconnected them. That's why my experience at North was so frustrating. Johnny Herrera/Mike Maroone North: 15 days, no completed diagnosis or repair. April Kuntzsch/Mike Maroone South: less than 24 hours, diagnosed and repaired. Same owner. Same Corvette. Same underlying problem. Completely different service experience. Had North simply told me upfront that they didn't have an available transmission technician and couldn't provide a reliable timeframe, I could have made an informed decision instead of losing the use of my Corvette for 15 days. Under-promise and over-deliver. Unfortunately, my experience at North was the opposite. One star.

What an incredible experience. Their inventory speaks for itself. They have the most interesting,…read morerare, and special cars in their showroom and on their lot. Extremely knowledgable and friendly staff and genuine interest in learning about customer needs, not pushing certain cars they have. But, many dealerships can achieve this, though few do it well, but what sets this group apart is their straight shooting honesty, no nonsense approach, and willingness to listen and find creative solutions. If you need a jeep, need to customize a jeep, or need any car they should be the top of your shortlist to reach out to. I traded a newer Rubicon in on an older model to recoup some money and they were genuinely interested in finding the RIGHT car for me, not the most expensive, or the oldest one there. Extremely impressed and will not hesitate to send anyone I know there. Also, I appreciate that they employ veterans! One of the most fun and positive automotive experiences I have had.... And I'm nearing my 30th car!

My husband brought his mother to be a co-signer for him, due to us going through hardships since my premature baby was born and I had to quit my job to care for him. Joe Burgess, the finance and sales manager told my husband to write up a letter on our hardship, and he will submit it to a lady he knows with one of the lenders on Monday (3/11/19) when she was in the office. He said with it being Saturday, we will just have to wait until Monday to see what can be done. He assured us that they are not like the big dealerships and will not sell the car from under us. He said that particular vehicle has been there for a little bit and isn't going anywhere. Today, Monday, 3/11/19.... my husband gets an email from Joe 8 minutes after they opened explaining "Thank you for submitting the letter, however sorry, the car was sold Saturday afternoon." This same guy, Joe, is the one that assured us that it was basically on hold for us over the weekend so we can see what happens on Monday... and now somehow it got sold from under us. I will never ever reccomend Dream 4x4 to anyone and I will write multiple reviews everywhere I can so other people are warned on how they do business. This was an extremely dirty move on their part. Now we are still looking for a vehicle with a huge ding on the credit score, along with our current hardship already.
