I didn't go inside the shop with my son, so I can't speak about the experience or cleanliness, but as soon as I saw his $30 cut I was like what professional thought this was work to be proud of. My mistake was doing a walk-in at some unfamiliar shop because he desperately needed his back-to-school cut. My son has had his longer hair for the last two years and has never had issues with cuts by barbers out in California. Maybe this shop just isn't for his type of hair, so now we know. His fade is nice, but his hard part is a bit exaggerated and his longer hair looked like he took scissors and started cutting his hair himself. Online and on the door states the shop opens at 9:00am. Someone showed up at 9:25am to open the shop. I went in and told the barber (Tall guy 3rd on the left when you walk in--older man) what I wanted (to keep my mohawk). He clearly did NOT listen to me. He was too bust talking about some young lady that was strangled and stabbed by her boyfriend, and too busy cursing every other workout of his mouth. Taking personal calls was not a good look either. This was my first time at this shop and will also be my last. Way too much cursing at this shop. Terribly unprofessional. Worst haircut I have ever gotten. Paid $40for this mess and had to pay another $40 to get this mess fixed at another shop. SMH...$80 total to get my haircut to look presentable. this would have never happened in San Diego, CA. read more

I take my foster kiddos here to get their haircut and they have always been so kind and courteous. There is usually a wait, but well worth it. The boys will tell them exactly what they want and they always walk out loving it! I would definitely recommend. read more

The good: The proximity to our residence. The BAD: Jay, tha barber. He's the ABSOLUTE worse barber that my brother has ever been given a haircut by. Jay was VERY unprofessional and made my brother feel extremely uncomfortable during his visit at In Da Cut. He spent the mass majority of his time trying to give relationship advice and attempted to "school" my brother in stating that he should NOT be "wearing pink panties" in a relationship and how he's (Jay) been in his relationship for 17 years and is just now deciding to finally commit to his gf. My brother went to In Da Cut to receive a quality haircut, period. He did not need/want and should not have been subjected to the unprofessional and immature advice/behavior exhibited by Jay and the other barbers. To add insult to injury, my brother's hair was healthy, thick and shiny prior to his visit, it is now lacking in luster, looks more like a military standard and is completely uneven at the top. My brother went in with an image of the style he wanted and Jay was more concerned with the males face being hidden on the photo than of the actual style-my brother, of course, did not receive ANYTHING close to the style he requested. After Jay had taken a lot of my brother's hair off, he asked him if he wanted it lower and to that my brother said, no... he told him he thought it should be lower and began to cut it against my brother's wishes anyway. Just horrible! I feel so hurt and saddened for my brother. That total experience was so disappointing and completely unnecessary. Final thoughts: Obviously, my brother will not be returning to get a haircut from Jay or anyone there at In Da Cut Barbershop. God forbid! There are PLENTY of other good places around and no one should EVER have to subject themselves to this sort of unprofessional behavior and unsolicited, vulgar advice and the stereotypical, ancient and disrespectful barbershop etiquette displaced by these employees. People deserve to be treated with respect and not made to feel less than by anyone, especially those who are being paid to perform a quality service. This experience further goes to show that contrary to the media, we are most certainly NOT all in this together. Please, do better! read more

This barber shop needs to work on professionalism within their business. It's as simple as that. If your posted hours of operation are from 9am-7pm, then you need to stop accepting customers at 7pm! Not 6:15, or 6:45, or when your barbers decide they want to go home. 7pm! I assumed that they might stop accepting walk-ins after a certain point so I even called to ask if I could still come in. The man on the phone told me I could, but as soon as I came in I was denied service. It takes one situation like this to lose me as a customer. Appropriate conversation (often very inappropriate in Chicago), quick and efficient. My only gripe was the price. My sons haircut was 10 bucks in Chicago and 25 (5 bucks with the design). This is a great Barber Shop. Walked in on a Saturday with no appointment and my son was able to get his hair cut and we only waited about 15 mins before his name was called. A friend recommend Mondo but he was busy with a customer. So we waited for the next available barber to be free. When Ron was available he gave my son a shape up and we were very happy with his shape up. Ron did a great job and the process didn't take long at all. I've been going to this place for about 2 years now every since they fixed up a haircut I got from great clips that f*cked me up real bad. The prices are reasonable given the quality of the cuts you get but it does depend on what kind of barber you go to as well. My cuts are $25 for combovers from Jay. The wait times are pretty long without a reservation going anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour based on how many people are there, so I recommend to call for one. read more

First time in this barbershop on Wednesday at 10am. It was pretty busy. There were four guys in the waiting area before me. The place was very clean and the barber stations were tidy. The parking lot was empty as my brother and I pulled in to the laundry mat. As my brother did his wash I sat outside and saw one barber come out and say hi. So, we chatted for a minute and then I asked him how much for a cut for my brother and he told me $20. Man, if I was a guy I'd be at the barber once a month, twenty bucks is a steal to get the clean-up that you need (we tipped $10 cuz we're nice like that). So, after the laundry my brother headed over to the barber and I loaded the car. By the time I headed to the barber there were a few cars in the lot. I opened the door to the barber and wow! To my surprise there were at least 15 people inside - 6 getting cuts, 6 giving cuts and people waiting. Basketball was on the TV and it was a busy environment. This is just the barber shop I have been looking for every man in my life! I can't wait to get my son in here. They did a great cut and fade on my brother's hair. They also did a shave for him, which is awesome! My brother enjoyed a hot towel and the razor all the way around his dome. Man, men need to take lessons from these guys. All the hair on my brother's neck, face is gone (thank god) and his hair is neatly cut on top with a fade going down each side. In Da Cut Barber Shop on Green Valley is what I believe a Barber Shop should feel like. They greeted me and my little Men's that I brought in for a cut. My son was serviced within 5 min and I was able to get food and cash and when I return my son was in good hands looking unfazed and unbothered. Now the best and most professional part was the Barber who service my youngest son; who is a little busy when it comes to getting his haircut, however he allowed my son to hold the clippers and made him feel real comfortable while getting his hair cut.
