I would never use this company again under any circumstances. I purchased countertops from them for my kitchen (not inexpensive); the countertops were definitely well manufactured, but the installation was a nightmare. The 2 man crew who came to install was more like a wrecking crew. Among other things: they took substantial chunks out of the just painted walls above one portion of the counters (and later said "sorry, won't your contractor fix that? ") . At the same location, they disassembled my electrical and phone outlets and did not reinstall them after they left, to the extent that I had to hire electricians to fix that. They also took two chunks out of the beautiful hand-made cherry sill above that counter. On the other counter, they did not put protective covers over drawers and thus left a mess of debris in one drawer. Perhaps most importantly, however, they did not drill the kitchen faucet hole properly, despite my pointing out the importance of this, so that the faucet handle now strikes the backsplash. They also nicked the enamel on my brand new stove. Further, they beat a hasty retreat before giving me a chance to inspect anything. I stupidly tipped them not realizing the mess they had left. Finally, adding insult to injury, when leaving they backed into my beautiful Japanese Maple and took out a huge chunk of branches before I yelled at them to stop backing out. What a mess. This review is about the granite/marble shop. We did not experience the same issues w the tile component of IHS. We ordered product in November of 2022, and the order was botched - part of the order was not made. When the product came in a couple months later, and we found one of the products wasn't included, it turned out it was no longer available. So in the end it seems like IHS resolved this by making an order for a similar product. See pic. It was not our choice, but it was clise enough and after all the other issues we had had, I was too tired to fight about it. The countertop was partially installed about 7 months after the initial order was made. At this time, that one countertop is still not fully installed. We had problems w the production of the other 2 slabs of granite we bought - they were inaccurately cut, had to be returned multiple times and or product ordered was not brought for install, and/or flaws in finish on the products required return visits to have that repaired and final installation. I brought sinks in to the sales person (the POC is was directed to by production) and that person failed to communicate instructions to production and the holes to accomodate the sinks were not made as requested as a result. Getting all the issues resolved has been exhausting. There seems to be no effective communications between sales and production and countless hours of trying to get the orders straightened out was required. And now - 9 months later, we have the company saying we need to pay for the ***incomplete installation*** prior to them delivering product that has already been paid for and installed. There are dozens of options for granite purchase in the area. We went w IHS because we had great experiences w the tile side of the house, but would never go back to even that side of the house, given all these issues. read more

I am VERY disappointed with the service from this stone store. I ordered a small piece of stone to be cut for a ledge in a shower 33x8 tapered down to 4. The order was supposed to be ready on 2/23 I called on 3/24 before heading to Annapolis the man that answered I asked about the stone and he told me that the ticket said it wouldn't be ready until 3/28 that it was marked wrong on my ticket the girl I ordered it from told us 3/24 and I watched her write it down. If your running behind just say so dont put me off I do understand sometimes things happen. But I will not recommend them to anyone I'll go elsewhere even if I have to drive 100 mile. read more

I used In Home Stone for a master bathroom and they were amazing. When I got redid two more bathrooms, though, they were experiencing production problems and cut my stones for 2 bathrooms backwards twice. Yep, that's 4 errors. Multiple trips into the store to find new stones. Multiple extra daus off work. Okay, so mistakes happen, right? We are all human. Instead of being apologetic, though, Paul repeatedly yelled at me and suggested I was being too picky. During the 2nd failed install and while he was insulting me, I told him to come see for himself. He did and was suddenly silent. He also couldn't argue with my photos from the layout on the stone we did in the store. I'm happy with one of bathrooms now, but one of them I just don't like the 3rd stone I ended up with. It didn't help that the salesman stopped being helpful, too, like I was wasting his time. Oh, and as a bonus, I had to wait 3 more weeks until my contractor was available to finish the job, since the granite delays were so extensive. At no point did Paul seem apologetic and at no point was I offered a discount or future credit. Too bad so sad for me. At least my contractor was witness to all this and no longer refers clients to In Home Stone. read more

Customer service was bad from day one. My GC has used them and recommended them for ease of their past relationship. I picked a slab of granite and was quoted the price. 50 percent was paid to hold the stone and cut. Granite was installed and I had to pay remaining 50% what turned out to be incorrect. I was told square footage was wrong on quote so price increased $600. Once my GC installs the small over the oven slab, I see the edges are not cut correctly. 2 weeks and 3 emails later and still no reply. AVOID.... use another stone place and avoid the trouble. read more

In Home stone did an outstanding job from start to finish on my limestone floor. My limestone floor was in poor condition as a starting point. My tile were average at best in quality with excessive variation in color with some etching. Most importantly, my installer did a poor job eleven years ago introducing a lot of lippage. Brett in the tile design department did a great job of finding close matching but higher quality tiles from Egypt. I shopped many tile shops in the area and In Home Stone works with the greatest number of stone tile producers, thus greatly improving the tile selection and matching process. Thanks to Brett and In Home Stone, I was able to supply my tile repair person with the tiles that he needed for a quality substitution of poorly matched or damaged tiles with new excellent higher quality but close matching tiles. On the restoration side, first, Glenn, the restoration manager, gave me a very competitive offer for their work. Second, In Home Stone repair technicians did a superb job of grinding away the lippage and polishing the floor to a nice honed surface. Third, they later came over and showed me various sealer and enhancer choices and put them on a few tiles so I could choose the right one after the samples had dried. The work crew worked diligently from start to finish to produce a floor that is as good as it can be given the materials used. In addition,, they polished and sealed my entrance foyer at no charge. From start to finish the company exceeded my expectations. For higher end stone tile selection and restoration, make this company your starting and likely finishing point. read more

We worked with Margaret to pick out bathroom tile for two bathroom remodels. She made the process so easy and we love the outcome. We couldn't have done it without her. This is our first remodel project, so we had a lot to learn during the process. Until we met Margaret, we were feeling overwhelmed and frustrated because we couldn't find what we wanted. Then we met Margaret and everything changed. After a few minutes of explaining what we were looking for, she pulled some tiles and it all came together. She was such a great listener and got exactly what we wanted. She talked us through all of the details of what we needed to consider and what to expect. We recently hired In-Home Stone to re-do our kitchen. They were totally horrible from start to finish. The counter tops were installed incorrectly and had to be re-done. When they took the sink apart to install the new one they broke all of the pipes under the sink. We had to get a plumber in to replace them. They did not secure the dishwasher so when I opened the door it fell over. I ordered tile for the backsplash and then scheduled the tile guy based on the store's schedule and sure enough the store was unable to get all that was needed for the tile job. Had to go with plan B since I already had a tile guy scheduled. The problems were non-stop. I HIGHLY recommend that you DO NOT EVER use this place. read more

We've had granite installed in our old house in Arlington VA. and our vacation home in OC by another granite company and was satisfied. When it came time to replace our granite in our new home (new to us) in Annapolis, we chose to go with a local fabricator and chose In Home Stone as they were the one's most positively talked about. Honestly, the total experience was a mixed bag of experiences, mostly good but what really stood out was the customer service in the end. We had a few issues in the beginning such as a distracted saleswoman 'Jennifer' who was seemingly overworked but otherwise professional and ultimately, satisfactory. The selection was good and the urge to accommodate us was very good. A young man came to template our kitchen and while he seemed a bit 'un-polished', he was very nice, knew what he was doing and made quick of his work. Our install was delayed one day due to a manufacturing issue which was a little inconvenient but the installation was completed on time the next day. There were 2 installers, 'Adow' and 'Justin' who were professional and courteous. We did not notice until the lighting had changed later that evening but we found a couple of scratches and some residue near the sink. We called the next day and were told they would send someone the next day to take a look. We got a call the next day informing us that they wanted to send 'their best crew' who was not available for another day and they would have him call us very soon. We got a call from 'Tye' two days later. Not what I would call very soon and we explained to him that so far, every step of the process was delayed or slow but he was nice enough and promised to stop by after work that evening to inspect and schedule a service asap. He indeed showed up very late that evening, '6:45' and began his inspection. He took one look and was able to determine that he could take care of the issue on the spot. He completed his work in about 20 minutes and spent the entire time answering our questions regarding maintenance. Tye is not the average contractor you would expect working as a contractor. He seemed exceptionally articulate, educated and most of all, compasionate about his work. He gave us a very scientific explanation of our stone and how to care for it in unconventional, yet simple, and environmentally ways. He has a recipe for a home made cleaner that work far better than any other cleaner we've tried. In the end, we really have no complaints about In Home Stone, we just wish things were a little more organized and timely. The customer service was good from start to installation and was excellent thereafter. I give 4 out of 5 stars as I do think that being consistently late is a serious issue, however, it was never by much and they were always accommodating. Honestly, I would have given 3 out of 5 but you get the sense that In Home Stone is the go to granite company around town and they are VERY busy. You cant fault them too much for that. Overall, with the personal service, I am very pleased. read more

We have used this company to install our new countertops today and they said they would be here in between 9-12 and it got to 12:30 and they didn't show up and did not call so we had to get in touch with our contact to figure out what was going on and they said they would be here in between 2:30-3 that they were running behind. It is now 3:40 and they just now showed up without calling again. Very disappointed in this company and will not recommend them to anyone! At least give us the courtesy to call to say you would be running late. read more

Tried to get a small slab of stone cut for an entertainment center from IHS and the process was frustrating. First, I was told by a Saleswoman named Amy that IHS could not put my Contractors exact measurements for my slab into the proposal because they use a "special software" that would not permit for manual entering. Amy sent me a proposal twice with incorrect measurements and bulked at my Contractors suggestion to hand write in the correct measurements on the proposal so I could sign a contract and move forward. After much back/forth with Amy, I asked to speak to her boss, and was forwarded to Paul who is a VP. Paul immediately got a drawling to me with correct measurements and said what I had been told was untrue. I ordered/paid a deposit and was told they would call in a week. After a week went by of not hearing if my order was ready, I called back and was told "Oh that was ready for pick up on Tuesday", this was Friday. (No big deal) I went to pick up the stone the next day and immediately could tell the cuts were wrong. The request for a round opening "three inches round", turned into an opening that was about three inches across and was made at the wrong end of the slab. When I noticed the mistake, I was told the person cutting the slab must have reversed the template, they couldn't explain why there was a hole big enough to put my fist through instead of one "three inches round". Even though a man from the warehouse offered to get me another slab, (No additional discount of course) by this point I was frustrated and declined. Not impressed with the Saleswoman named Amy, AT ALL! Paul who I was told is a VP was excellent and once I got to him the transaction was effortless. The crew working on cutting the stone didn't seem concerned/apologetic about their mistake, which was a little disappointing and lead me to believe this happens a lot. In the end, this was an honest mistake, but just kept thinking, if these guys can screw up a small project when provided TWO diagrams/templates/exact measurements, then imagine what they could do to an entire kitchen. read more

What is bad about In Home Stone --- oh customer treatment - that's all. We went to IHS because we had a good experience with them on our kitchen remodel. Now it was our master bath ... we found a granite remnant that was perfect and asked the sales manager the price and were told $700. We said ok and they put our name on the granite ... that was a good price. We then scheduled a meeting with their tile designers ... We arrived two days later to meet with the tile designer and she was edgy - we looked outside and saw our piece of granite being moved. We asked what was going on and were told that someone wanted that granite. We said it has our name on it and were told you didn't put any money down. We proceeded to put half down and the price was now $1000. The granite was moved to another locaton for customer set aside Granite with a deposit. We got a piece of the granite and proceeded to pick out all our tile and order our cabinets. We spent alot of time selecting colors to match the Granite. We left for a winter break to Florida and came back to complete the selection of the tile. Just on a whim we went outside to look at the granite. It was not where it used to be. Turns out they sold it to someone else. I am guessing it was to the contractor that wanted it originally. We complained and were asked to look at some other stone ... none matched. The owner said they would look for a substitute. Having no recourse we went to several other granite fabricators. Atlas Stone had a remnant but it was just slightly too small. They then suggested we go to their granite supplier .... we found just what we wanted and asked if they supplied to In Home Stone, as well - they said yes ... so we had them send a quote to both In Home Stone and Atlas Stone. Atlas Stone got our business ... In Home Stone never called to indicate they had gotten a quote from the granite distributor. Long and short of this is don't do business with In Home Stone. read more

I would absolutely recommend In Home Stone for granite. Their prices are reasonable and the customer service is very good. They did a great job on our new granite for the kitchen island including cutouts for the cook top and downdraft. They were the only contractor for our new kitchen who did not screw something up!! They also did the mantle for my fireplace and a new top for my antique washstand. I'm very pleased with all three pieces. read more
