They came to our house to diagnose a minor problem with a breaker. They explained clearly that there was a $69 charge for coming to the house and take a look at the problem. After looking at the problem, the technician said that he could fix the problem and do a general diagnosis of our electrical system for a $500+ fee. Given that he was already in our house and we had several other bids that we turned down, we agreed to this ridiculous fee. The work was done well (probably took 15 minutes); he then suggested that a number of our plugs in the house should be replaced and gave us a bid to do this work for $13K. I will not be using this company ever again. My suggestion: if you use this company, get the pricing up front and be prepared for outrageous fees....even by electricians' standards. read more

A contractor tore up some outdoor electrical lines doing a demo, so we needed someone to come in and sort it all out. Trace E came out for a consult and was super friendly and professional. He explained everything and showed us exactly what they would do if we hired them. We were so scared of what it might cost because we didn't know what he might find, but the whole job was $1600 and now everything is up to code as well. I got a bid from In House electrical and was happy with the quote. They could not fit my work in for a month, but based on how professional, kind, and knowledgeable they seemed I was willing to wait. When it came to the work we needed done they did most of it the way we wanted, but there were some issues. We needed a few new outlet boxes and ceiling lights cut into our existing wall board. The tools they used were obviously not the best because there were a lot of things to patch afterward. It was overall a very sloppy job. I understand that their job is electrical not drywall, but if you're working on jobs in existing houses all the time it would only makes sense that you know how to do the job well. We had an issue with a timer in the laundry room of our rental and asked to be put in their waitlist for a callback. After several hours, my hubby just went to fix it himself. Then someone left a vm asking us to call back to confirm an appointment and next thing we knew, they showed up and we were charged for an emergency call. Steve showed up with a mask. I had to ask him to take off his wet boots as he started in the house. He it was 5 and 1/2 hours late. Planned a day off work to meet with them and had scheduled 3 weeks in advance. Had a call the day before from someone from their administration. They were asking me to allow them to get there the next day instead of 8 am be there at 10 am. I said as long as they finished the punch list. Then I look up and it is 11:19am no electrician. Called the office, they checked and he would not be there between 12 to 1pm. Again I asked if he would be able to do the scheduled work before leaving. Got a oh yes. The electrician showed at 1:30 and I was on the phone trying to work remotely after losing the day of work. I pointed to where he should go to start and when I got off the phone he had stuff all over the floor and water as well. He came where I was on the phone and it said he did not have the parts and would have to come back on Monday. I said no could not be there on Monday because of work. Called the manager Patrick and he said that the electrician could not finish and because it was close to 4 pm. It was not even 2:30pm! I asked Steve to clean up and and put the work areas in order. Of course water and insulation was left on the floor in a trail to the door. Husband cannot believe how I was treated and cancelled the rest of the work to be done and incidentally the most important work necessary. Not sure everything is back in place or working but I will add that later to my review. I will use a reliable electrician and hope that there is someone else that is honest and does good reliable work. Trouble is I had another job done by In House Electric went great and I gave referrals for some of my clients as well as my husband's clients and friends that they did do good work, so maybe this was a bad apple. How embarrassing to have this happen on a referral to someone as well. The biggest issue is I was made to think that my work and time was not important as what they could do to mess that up and do inferior work. Forgot to add that Steve wanted to still do the quote for additional work that my husband had requested in a email a couple of days before the appointment instead of finishing the current work. We recently purchased an older home with ungrounded wiring. We got 4 bids to fix some electrical issues and to do a general rewiring of the home. We decided to go with In House because they were well recommended and had decent pricing. The actual work they did seems fine, however, our bathroom light is no longer functional and they swear that this is not related to the work they did. They were willing to send someone out to take a look, and although they claim that they did not cause this issue the timing is too suspicious. We had a full panel replacement and lots of major work done. The bathroom light was working fine prior to this. At this point they are now recommending a $3000 circuit in addition to the $7000 we already paid. Based on how they handled this issue I would not recommend them. read more

The electrician, John, called and let me know that he was 5 minutes away (early for the appointment) he went over the problem with me and got to work. About 5 minutes later he let me know that my son spraying air freshener in the socket helped kill what was already a dying socket lol he also showed me the faulty work that was done when our house was remodeled before it was purchased. He fixed the problem on the spot which we are very happy about. John was very nice and knowledgeable. We had an overall great experience with In-House. We ended up doing a full rewired of our mid-century home. Before we even started, Lucas was really patient answering all our questions via email and working with us to come up with a re-wire plan that fit our needs and budget. I remember repeatingly asking if they'd be working consecutive days, as you hear horror stories of people coming to start a job and taking a while to finish. In-House worked quicker than we thought and finished the full re-wire in less than 2 weeks and the inspection happened exactly when they said it would. We also really appreciated that when we ended up having to cut a hole in our cedar ceiling (which we were trying to avoid), Ryan went over our options with us before doing any work. He also sent us a picture of the finished work at the end of the day to show us how it looked - a nod that he realized how worried we were about it and did his best to make us feel comfortable. The only con was that there were times we wished the work had a bit more polish. For example, we'll need to do a bit more drywalling than we expected because some of the outlet plates and the panel cover don't cover the holes. We also had to ask to fix a few things, like covering an outside cut a bit more cleanly and adding the dimmer back in that was originally there. With the exception of a knick in our hardwood and fixing the outlet cuts, In-House was very professional and made most of the changes we asked. We were also super impressed when there was an accident with our oven door that they quickly resolved without us even missing it. Overall, we'd definitely recommend In-House. They were honest, quick workers and were the best price out of all the bids we received. We're thrilled to have a home that feels really safe and will definitely contact In-House again in the future. read more

Looks like they have a problem with no shows. My husband had them come out and give a quote on a 240 volt charger for our garage on Jan 10, 2019 and they scheduled the installation for today between 12 and 2pm. They did not show up or call. My husband who came home from work to be here for the appt called them at 2:45 and the person in the office first told him that he had the date wrong. She then agreed it should have been today with barely an apology and no offer to make up for their mistake and his time other than scheduling a new appt a week out. We have the written quote with the appt date and time on it so really poor customer service that they got it wrong or just didn't call us. read more

These guys are the BEST! My wife and I used them to install ceiling fans in two bathrooms and the results were terrific. They recommended the right fans for each bathroom and saved us money while ensuring the fan fit the application of each bathroom. Based on this experience we sent them to check my senior mother in law's house for what she thought were a few hot plugs in her older home. We chose in house among several bids for a complete re-wire of our house. After starting we found out they left off the laundry room from the bid (adding several hundred dollars to the quote). They damaged a piece of siding outside, which they made right and fixed, but the technicians left our house a mess throughout the project and left dirty handprints all over newly painted walls at the end of the work. To top it off it took them over a month to let us know that they didn't charge us the for all the work, and only after we called requesting a final invoice for our records. read more

Their estimate was very reasonable and they were able to do the work on the first visit. We scheduled them to come back for some additonal work which was performed quickly and professionally. On the second visit, I had them look at a kitchen outlet that was not working at times. He checked the wiring and tested the outlet and found nothing wrong with it. It has been fine ever since.
