Took my Wife's Honda to In Motion to get inspected at the end of November 2015, it took them almost two weeks to get me a quote. The quote was expensive, $1100.00 I was told it was mostly labor costs, I didn't have the money right then so I started paying In Motion in installments. Paid them in full over a month ago, by the way Still hadn't received my car by the time I finished paying. 4 weeks ago I called and asked about my car, I was told it would be done, "in a few days." Three weeks ago I had to call several times to get someone to answer, finally got a hold of them was told, "the parts are in we are just short handed it will be done early next week. Last week I called and was told, "we are waiting on a part," was called yesterday (thursday 1/28/16) and told my car was having the emissions checked and it would be done later that day. Then later Thursday I was told that suddenly my wipers stopped working and that they were over nighting the part and it would definitely be done today(friday 1/29/16) and that I would receive a call when I could pick it up. Never got that call, my wife and I have been without a second car for TWO FUCKING MONTHS! We are paid in full, and we don't have the god damned car a month later. The only reason it was sent to the shop was for an inspection. I was trying to keep it under wraps so I didn't hurt their business but clearly I don't fucking matter to them so why should they matter to me? Nobody is calling me and updating me, I called and was told nobody is there to talk to me and that someone will call me back, nobody calls me back, I'm given contradicting stories when I do get a hold of someone, and I still don't have a fucking car. Inspection was up at the end of November and that's when I brought it down, it's almost fucking February.
UPDATE
I got my car back, I called again and found out it was done yesterday (1/30/16) and they just forgot to call me. I picked it up and the owner wanted to talk to me. He told me about all the bad things that happened in the shop and why my car took so long, he did not at any time explain the excuses, the screened phone calls or the lack of Customer service in general. He did manage to apologize to me for taking so long, but its not an apology to me unless you take responsibility for ALL the things you did wrong.
On top of all that and two minutes down the road I could tell something was wrong with the car, it was listing to the left and the right randomly, it felt very "Floaty" if that makes sense, I did not feel like I had complete control of the car while I was driving it. My wife was following me and she could see the trailing arm jostling around like it was loose or the Bushing, Which we just had changed, was loose or something. I called another mechanic and ran the scenario by him and he said absolutely do not drive it. Called In Motion and was told to bring it back so that they could test drive it... Excuse me, does that mean it wasn't test driven?
This is the List of Parts Changed out as listed on my receipt.
Lower Ball Joint
L/S Front Axel Assy
LT Front Hub Bearing
Trailing arm Bushings.
In Short I took my car to a shop, at the time that I brought it there it drove in a straight line, and had no problems that you could feel while driving it. Everything seemed to operate as they were supposed to aside from the air conditioning which has never worked for us. Two Months and $1100 later the car can't drive in a straight line, I do have my inspection, but I'm going to need to take my car back into the shop. I am not taking it back to In Motion, I am taking it to another mechanic, Have him inspect the changed parts, first to determine whether they were changed properly and to make sure they were even changed at all. read more
