I had a little bit of sticker shock from the first quote so decided this would be worth getting multiple quotes on. And Home Build was one of them due to their stellar Yelp reviews. I called them and they were able to send Oscar out right away. They told me to save 60 -90 min for the consultation, which seemed like a lot of time considering every other company just needed 5-10 min of my time. However, i was willing to invest the time for the right doors and right price. Oscar and i met for over an hour. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about all my door options. He brought along a presentation (via his ipad), as well as materials so we got it all done within that hour. The other companies took a lot less, but resulted in a few trips to my house and lots of back and forth via email. I honestly probably prefer the latter since less time all at once. It's a builders grade glass door, so the lower quality of the door made it more difficult to repair. All of the other companies we obtained bids from said it couldn't be repaired and quoted 2500 to 3000 for a replacement. Peter came over on a Sunday morning and repaired it expertly. Our front window had a broken sash and required a complete replacement. The replacement cost Peter quoted was a reasonable price and he took out the old damaged window and replaced it with a new one, spending time caulking and finishing the job.
