I had her euthanasia scheduled for Saturday morning at 11. She chose to go on her own, she had no fight left in her. She was 19 years old (Oct 2). She had advanced heart disease and was in kidney failure due to the medication she was prescribed for her heart. She was on the medication for over 3 years, we monitored her at her primary vet as well as her cardiologist. She fought hard. Such a tough little girl. But Friday, she was done. I have thought and feared this day since the moment I got her. I wish I had gotten that one last night or taken the day off but there was no way I could of predicted what I came home to. As I sat there with her, watching her last breaths and having my hand on her last heartbeats, I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I was sobbing and saying the words that she had died were impossible . I called the vet back to cancel my Saturday appt assuming they would have a plan for her body. There is not a plan for this circumstance. The call taker just said to call around and find a place that does pet cremations. I had to google places . Only 3 places came up. 2 being closed til 9am on Saturday and the 3rd, Dear Pet Memorial Park, OPEN 24 hrs! I thought this can't be right but I called and Keith answered immediately. I don't even think it rang twice before he answered. Through my tears, I briefly explained what had just happened. No hesitation, he said, I can be there within the hour. Sure enough, he was here in 45 mins. His presence brought some kind of peace to the situation. He gave me the choice to hold her for a little while later or take her out when he arrived. I did have him take her right away. I kissed her little cold nose and handed her to him. After she was settled, ready to be transported in his car, he came back in to discuss the process. I was going with a private cremation instead of communal. He went over the timeline and said he would have her back on Tuesday. He wasn't pushy with the add ons ( paw print, jewlery, urns) he just gave me the options he had to offer. I chose a clay paw print in a shadow box , with the rainbow bridge poem on the other side. I also got the basic wooden box with her name on a gold plate. The box is not sealed which is what I would of requested anyway because I'm going to have a piece of jewelry made from her ashes. Sure enough, Tuesday is here and she is back home. The paw print is amazing, I was never able to push her paw into clay or ink and get an impression. I'm so thankful Keith was able to get it just as imagined it would be. I would recommend this business and Keith to anyone in the area. He is compassionate, and caring. The exact person/personality you would want helping you at the worst moment of your life. I can't say enough good things about him and his business. Telling him "Thank You" is not enough. To have someone , a complete stranger, come to your house and comfort you so quickly is just amazing. I will remember his kindness forever. Thank You Keith!!! I am posting a few pictures of Cady during better times.

My son and I had the best experience with Pet Meadow. Well beyond 5 stars…read more We received an email the same day of our dog passing and others with updates. They also provided us with there contact phone number and also an emergency number after hours which I used. My call was returned in less than 10 minutes and everyone I spoke too was so nice, kind and accommodating. The inside of the facility in Carlstadt was nice, neat and clean and very presentable. Eddie was so caring, gentle, respectful, and just amazing in every way. He made us feel warm and welcome when we came for our appointment. He explained the process and answered all our questions. He then brought us in to see our dog "Valentine" who was so beautifully laid out. Eddie gave us all the time we needed in private to grieve. He was so very kind and made us feel very comfortable. Eddie called us a couple hours later to inform us the ashes were ready. They were presented so beautifully and the engraved label was perfect. Eddie exceeded every expectation I had for the entire process. I feel so grateful to him for showing us such kindness in our final goodbye to our fur baby. Thank you Pet Meadow and thank you Eddie for the best possible experience in such a difficult time.

The cremation of my pet was put on hold because I looked at the keepsakes items on their pet portal…read morebut did not purchase any. Three weeks after they received my pet's remains they called asking if I wanted any keepsakes. I returned their call saying I did not want any keepsakes and asked when the ashes would be ready. I was told 10-14 days is their timeframe. I pointed out my pet has already been there for 3 weeks. I was told they would prioritize my pet. The only thing worse than having to euthanize your pet is learning their remains have been hanging around the crematorium for three weeks all because I didn't purchase any keepsakes. The lack of sensitivity is overwhelming.

My cat, Jasper, was very ill and hospitalized there for 4 days. The emergency room veterinarians and technicians were amazing. One ER doctor called me multiple times over the course of 2 days just to keep me updated on my baby. How amazing! Then Jasper was transferred from emergency medicine to the internal medicine team. This is when we met Dr. DiBenedetto- our hero. I cannot say enough amazing things about this man. He showed true compassion towards me and Jasper, he worked extremely hard to determine what was causing Jaspers illness, spent a great deal of time providing me with all the details of his illness, treated him appropriately, and SAVED HIM! Nine days after discharge, Jasper started to feel unwell again. Luckily we already had a follow up visit scheduled, so off we went to Redbank again. Dr. DiBenedetto promptly determined the diagnosis, explained to me in detail what we could do to help him, and provided me with honest and empathetic options. We decided to treat Jasper at home, as funds were tight after a 4 day hospital stay. Now two weeks after that last visit, Jasper is THRIVING!! He saved him for 2nd time!! Jasper turned 9 on June 6th and I owe it all to Redbank's amazing staff- especially Dr. DiBenedetto, his tech Liz, and the rest of the internal medicine team. The empathy, compassion, thoroughness, respectfulness, and intelligence that Dr. DiBenedetto possesses is truly exceptional. Thank you!!!! PS- I also love that they have a coffee station, water, tea, and a vending machine. The establishment is always very clean and the front desk staff are polite. All the techs have always treated me and my pets with respect and compassion.

She said if he wasn't better over the weekend to bring him to the hospital for an ultrasound. We were able to go to Red Bank this morning. He was breathing heavily, so the tech brought him right back to take his vitals. The folks up front were very kind and supportive while we waited to go back. We were very nervous, worried the news would be bad and it was. bandit had a lot more going on in addition to the mass--fluid around his heart, lungs, and belly--in just the 2 days since we saw our vet! We knew we couldn't let Bandit suffer. The doctor's and all the techs' kindness and compassion for us helped us. The doctor and techs were very gentle with Bandit and gave us all the time we needed. Highly recommend!
