Dr. Emma Freeze is a miracle worker. I came to Tahoe as pit stop to train for an Ironman that I'm competing in this weekend. After a 12 hour drive & months of hard training my body was pretty wrecked. She did a very thorough intake and instantly knew what to do. She is not only amazing at what she does but she's so sweet & funny. If I lived closer I would get adjusted weekly by her. The office is so cute, clean, & the front desk staff is very friendly. Dr. Emma is a friggin' MAGICIAN! My back went out while on vacation in Tahoe (Tahoe City). It was the first day of my vacation, and I needed immediate relief (figured waiting to get back to my regular chiro several days later would not be in my best interest). When it comes to chiropractic, you're never sure what your gonna get (much like a box of chocolates... ';-)), so I was EXTREMELY pleasantly surprised when I made the trek from Tahoe City to Incline to see Dr. Emma. (She was able to get me in the fastest, which is why I drove from Tahoe City to her office). She was AWESOME! She took photos of my posture and scans of my back, showing me the areas of concern first, and then adjusted me back to about 70% (I wasn't expecting to get much better than 30% improvement in one visit). She told me to expect to feel decidedly better by 4pm (I went in at 11am), and she pretty-much PEGGED IT! By 4pm, I was "back with the living" and was able to sleep SOFA-KING MUCH BETTER that night as compared to the night before. I'm tellin' ya...if I didn't live as far away, I'd make her my new chiropractor...SHE'S A GENIUS, has GREAT bedside manner, explains what she's doing as she goes along...really couldn't have asked for more on this emergency visit!! Dr John is amazing. I have 2 slipped discs. My girlfriend does as well. He is the only practice that has a decompression/ traction machine in the area. Closest other practice is in Reno. Traction does miracles for disc issues. Also his adjustment technique is the best I have ever been to. I've been seeing different chiropractors over the years and I've seen it all different levels of service. Incline chiropractic has a philosophy not only to do manual adjustments but all the associated machine adjustments and a whole rounded set of therapy options. Since they have a traction machine they get a lot of referrals from other associated therapists in the area which speaks volumes to their equipment and professionalism. I was able to squeeze in an appointment while visiting the area just for the weekend, and I was very satisfied. Dr. Shoemaker is friendly and knowledgable and immediately able to give me a diagnosis that I hadn't heard from any other doctors but that matched my symptoms exactly. I wish I was in town longer so I could go for more regular treatments. The spinal decompression helped with my neck pain and overall I felt that the practice was well run, personable, and convenient. The one negative review here mentioned that they felt ignored, but even when he went off to check on other patients or take care of other things, Dr. Shoemaker didn't seem to be out of reach and checked in on me regularly, so I didn't feel that way at all. read more

If I had the ability to rate less than 1 star I would. It was my first time at a chiropractor. The doctor barely bothered to know what was going on and why I was having the pain I had. He adjusted me for maybe two minutes, never once describing what he was doing, just contorting me like a rubber band with no concern of what I was thinking. After two minutes he hung me upside down alone in some weird closet while I heard him accuse another patient of being cheap and not paying his bills. He then told me I needed to come back twice a week till I was fixed but never once told me what was wrong and how he was going to go about treatment. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I was disgusted by my experience. I would rather pay for a decent sports massage then ever be in the office of such an inconsiderate asshole again. read more
