The only chiropractor I trust. I've been to chiropractors since I was a small child due to professional equestrian sports I was thrown countless times and never taken to a hospital by my own parents. Too many concussions to count, ripped pants and bloody knees always, broken ribs, the whole 9 yards of injuries. I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Viland for over 3 years now. I have a herniated disk in my neck and my orthopedic doctor recommended I have surgery to cure the weakness, muscle fatigue and pain I had. With the help of Chiropractic care and particularly Dr. Viland that has not been the case. The combination of muscle stem, ultra sound and the adjustment through his care has proven to work great. I work on a cruise ship...and was in desperate need of an adjustment! So I google mapped chiropractors near the port for my upcoming stop in San Francisco. I e-mailed Dr. Viland on a Sunday about the possibility of getting an appointment on Monday and much to my relief he wrote back that night and was able to fit me in the next afternoon! His office was literally a block away from the port and I was welcomed with open arms in for an adjustment. Dr. Thomas Viland has changed my life and I have only known him for 3 months. I started seeing him and his wonderful wife Yana in July of 2015 with horrible lower back and left hip pain. I am only 29 years old and have been dealing with lower back pain/sciatica problems for over four years. This last year, the pain got tremendously worse due to falling on my hip in March. I was in constant pain. I was getting stuck in bed and couldn't roll over without my husbands help and I couldn't even sit or lay down without being in excruciating pain. I felt like my entire body was out of alignment and I was completely miserable. I was seeing another chiropractor and going to acupuncture once a week. Both of those would give me relief from pain for a bit but it would always eventually come back after a short amount of time and I never felt like I was healing, just getting rid of the pain for a while. I also did cortisone shots which were extremely painful, did not help and actually ended up making me worse. I was recommended to Dr. Viland because he had this amazing machine called APR Wave Therapy that is supposed to help people in horrible pain. I signed up right away without even asking questions. Im my eyes, nothing could be worse than the everyday pain I was experiencing no matter what kind of treatment it was. And boy was I right. After my first ARP Wave treatment with Dr. Viland, I felt immediate relief in my hip. The excruciating pain was gone before I even walked out of the appointment. I was astonished and so happy to not be in pain for once. He had also figured out that the ligaments in my hip were deteriorating which is why I was so out of alignment and had so much pain. Dr. Viland then gave me a brace for my hips that has helped a ton and instantly made me feel stronger. Fast forward to 20 treatments later and not only am I pain free but I am so much stronger in my lower back and hips than I have ever been. EVER! I can get out of bed without pain and without limping around for hours until everything loosens up. There is no more stiffness and the inflammation has decreased dramatically. He has also helped my upper back by getting it back in alignment by adjusting my shoulders. Best adjustment ever and I feel wonderful! My life has changed and it is now hard to imagine what my life was like these last 5 years in pain. I am now back in the gym working out and cannot wait to go skiing this winter. After arriving in San Francisco from Philly,PA the evening before for the purpose of packing up my daughter's apt., I woke up with significant back and hip pain..Clearly, the pain had to go. Dr Thomas was wonderful. He made me feel like family. He did a though history and physical. Dr Viland also explained what my issues were and his assessment and treatments made me feel so much better. I'm not a fan of manipulation, but his manipulation was very gentle. I did not need a second treatment but Dr Tom was willing to work around my schedule if I did need a 2nd treatment. Dr Viland and his office manager are so warm and welcoming I wish they were in my area. After I returned home, I even call him about an issue my younger daughter was having with her shoulder.
