Dulceria Socami - Entrance

I came here in hopes of getting a "Lightning McQueen" piñata for my son's 2nd birthday. Not just…read moreany Lightning McQueen piñata, the 3D kind, not just a photo of the car in a circular shape, etc. It was a long shot, but it must've been my lucky day because the lady that worked there wasn't sure if they have it but she went to their upstairs stockroom, looked for it, and found one. It's not the highest of quality, but decent for its price. For $35 and for its size (see photo - it barely fit my trunk), it was a deal! I found something identical in Etsy for $75, but I was not about to spend that much for a piñata! You won't find the 3D piñata right when you enter the store, but you can ask them if they have it and they'll look for it in their stockroom upstairs. They're very helpful! The place looks very overwhelming in the beginning with the amount of piñata hanging on the ceiling, but you feel immediately hopeful that they might just have the piñata that you're looking for. They also have a ton of Mexican candies and party supplies. With party city gone, it can be challenging to find party supplies with a certain theme. Thank god they're still here! Will be back for sure for my kid's future piñatas!

It was…read morehard to find using Go0gle Maps because it took us to the backside of the plaza and we drove in circles looking for it. The place is actually located on the left side of the furniture store. The entrance itself says a lot.. grand, decorated, colorful, tall and huge. Walking in I was overwhelmed. Dulceria had everything! Rows and rows of candies, extra things hanging off shelves, fridges with queso and other perishables, sauces, dried goods, statues, piñatas hanging on the ceiling, so much stuff! It's a one-stop party supply. I walked around several times and each time I saw something new that I missed the first time around. There is TWO stories here, although you're not allowed to go all the way up the stairs. Prices are hit or miss. I got a really affordable piñata, but thought the box of tamarind candy was a bit pricey. Still, it's convenient and has everything in one place and it was fun walking around seeing all the items they offer. I'd recommend going here over Party City any day.

Which I understand that happens, but some type of acknowledgment like "I'll be right with you" or something would've been nice instead of continuing his conversation like we weren't there. That was my first impression which I was willing to put aside. Then once he started helping us it seemed like he knew what he was doing. I showed him a photo of what we wanted and he reassured me it wouldn't be a problem. However, on the day we picked them up they looked nothing like the photo and it felt like they were trying to over compensate the corsage with baby's breath. Plus It had a long stem sticking out which made it uncomfortable to wear and you could see the twisted ties they used to hold it together. They didn't even try to hide them. I've never seen them so exposed before when buying corsages in the past. Unfortunately it was big and bulky and not very pretty. We really had no choice but to take it since it was the day of prom. The boutonniere only had the rose and baby's breath and no matching ribbon. We had requested gold ribbons for both. They refused to add any ribbon to his boutonniere. They said they don't do that. Which was annoying because when I placed the order I wasn't told it couldn't happen. We did still use them since we paid for them and it was too late to go anywhere else. The corsage did end up falling apart and didn't last through the night. We were extremely disappointed with that. They do have other beautiful floral set ups there so I'm sure they know flowers. However their corsages don't work, they need a different corsage arrangement. The one they used is not very well put together, it's bulky, it's flimsy, it's uncomfortable, and it's not as pretty as other corsages we've gotten in the past. The flowers were put together like you could put it in a vase with a stem sticking out at the bottom, supposed to the flowers facing flat on the wrist while looking beautifully put together. I would not recommend this place unfortunately and I'll be definitely looking for a different flower shop for our next event. They were too expensive to not get what I had ordered or had expected.

We also picked up a few for drinking our tea and cocoa, and of course we walked out with some snacks. Truthfully, I went there for Mexican candies and treats because 1) they're good, 2) they're better than a lot of gas station treats. The place is a little bit of warehouse and a little bit of store, but a whole lot a bit of everything we love. Be ready to parous through the thin aisles with a few other shoppers, but don't let that stop you from missing out on quality cups, vases and other décor. One of the workers there was a huge hand when we needed some of the heavier, larger items to be brought down from its top racks. Everyone is friendly, and willing to help. This place is a bit of a drive, but it is worth it. Whether you are looking for a gift for a loved one, party materials for your next birthday celebration, or something to make your own home a little more lively, consider visiting and supporting this business.

They have amassed a large collection of costumes and costume accessories. Deanna was the most helpful on Halloween Day nonetheless. With so many people coming in for last minute needs she kept a smile on and kept serving the customers to make their day memorable. The prices were half of what you would see at a Spirit Halloween store. With much better quality and selection. I wish more people knew about this resource in our community. My son lost his pirate hat at school the day before Halloween. I drove around to 10 Stores. From Goodwill to Spirit. Elk Grove, Sacramento to Carmichael and Rancho Cordova looking for the type of hat he wanted. I came in here and they had 4 or 5 different styles. From the inexpensive to the highest quality. While spending 15 minutes in the store I saw many procrastinators come in looking for help. And they did just that. Helped them find the perfect costume. This store truly had it all. Lastly stop asking for white contacts in the store. This is done online. You must have a prescription (It's the Law) and they get shipped to you. This was something I heard asked many times and even a couple phone calls about them. These are costume people not eye doctors.
