Unfortunately dogs are NOT allowed because they want to preserve the nature and wildlife. Plenty of parking spots. Trails are clear and easy to walk along. This is more of a walk than a hike. Trails can get muddy so recommend wearing boots. If you get muddy, there's a boot brush out in front where you can scrub your shoes. Don't forget to pack it in and pack it out! Even with all those negative things Lindenwood still looked pretty and I enjoyed the hike. I was very Underwhelmed by the pond. I expected the pond to be much prettier, bigger and nicer looking but unfortunately it was tiny and very dirty. At least there were visible tadpoles there which was exciting to see. I cannot wait to return to this place again once everything is fully regrown.

Each had its merits, but the group vote for the favorite was the playground across from the volleyball and basketball courts. Some of the playgrounds had retro equipment, which we liked, but the seats were very low and sometimes squeaky. The climbers and bouncers were a hit and the young ones raced to be the first to try them. We even awarded special stickers to anyone in our group who visited all six playgrounds. Finding the geocache and hiking the trails, playing disc golf, doing archery---it was all a great time!

Some longer trails have picnic benches and other seating areas along the way. I used to come here with my dog quite a bit. The staff that work here are friendly and even gave my pup doggy treats when they saw her. It's also fantastic here because they have doggy bags at different stations throughout the area to keep this place clean. You'll see birds and deers throughout the nature preserve. I've also seen a lot of people take their graduation pictures because of this place's natural beauty. Over the years, I've seen that this place has done a great job of being educational with a lot of interactive activities (information about snakes, nets for observing fish, etc.). Whenever I'm in the area, this is the one place I always need to visit. Pros: -Free to enter -Free parking -Different trails -Well-maintained -Good for dogs -Educational -Beautiful all seasons Cons: -Depending on the time of the year, the mosquitos can be fierce! Very cool sight. There were a lot of great trails including a mile long one around the buffalo area, as well as a fully paved bike trail that goes through the woods. It was a lovely ride. The bathrooms left something to be desired as usually 2/3 toilets were clogged and the hardware in general could use some renovation. There are private showers in the back restrooms which were a nice change but having to continuously hit the water button (and it pauses every time you hit it) was a different, not so pleasant experience. Overall, this was a decent campground, fairly busy. A lot of the large buildings were closed or intended for renting out. There was no nature center. There is a lake which offer paddle and other boats for rent. There is also parking for horse & buggies away from the RV sites. Outside of the horse & buggy and a summer camp area, we never found the primitive camp sites but we didn't exactly go looking for them either.

There is a swing set and trails to walk or ride a bicycle. A shelter house is handicapped accessible with a party room and a porch with picnic tables. The view of the river here is one of the best. The river is wide. There's a dam that has a good flow of water for fishing. As a kid Dad took our boat through the canal locks which looks like you can still do that. Don't forget a walk to the village of Grand Rapids. It's only .2 miles and it's a destination with cute shops and eateries. A campground and boat ramp are just to south of the park.

Promenade Park opened in 2019 as the first phase in Fort Wayne's Riverfront Fort Wayne project. Main features include Canoeing and Kayaking, a very cool fountain, games, a pavilion, picnic tables, an amazing playground, a snack bar, a stage, trails and, of course, water. The park is relatively small at 4 acres, but they really have laid it out beautifully and they have quite a bit here. Promenade Park is a KultureCity.org Sensory InclusiveTM Certified Venue. Accessibility features include accessibility to the trails, kayak/canoe launch, main entrance, picnic areas, playground (ground level play features), an accessible restroom, accessible signage, accessible swings, accessible water fountains/bottle fillers, and more. Accessible parking is available along Wells Street (adjacent to the pavilion). The garden area is designed specifically to provide visual and sensory separation. There's tactile ribbon embedded in the pavement throughout the park (this helps people who are blind/low-vision). Pathways are extra wide and can accommodate multiple wheelchairs. Honestly, I was blown away here and so thrilled I took the time to stop and check this out. I'm likely planning an event in Fort Wayne soon, and there's no question I'll be returning to this beautiful urban park.
