Each had its merits, but the group vote for the favorite was the playground across from the volleyball and basketball courts. Some of the playgrounds had retro equipment, which we liked, but the seats were very low and sometimes squeaky. The climbers and bouncers were a hit and the young ones raced to be the first to try them. We even awarded special stickers to anyone in our group who visited all six playgrounds. Finding the geocache and hiking the trails, playing disc golf, doing archery---it was all a great time!

A bridge provides access to a little island with a beach, which also has nearby swings and picnic tables. A nice large shelter with more tables and a great playground with slides, swings, climbing structures, and towers is located near clean restroom facilities. We saw a number of boats out enjoying the water and folks doing some fishing. Camping sites are available, as is a dog beach.

Right on the river is this large riverfront playground. I love going to The Market for a bite to eat at The Garden and walking the paths. I have been to so many events here and they are always so perfect and well done. There is so much space and it's all very well maintained. A splash pad, ice skating and rollerblading ribbon, super cool playgrounds, concert area and so much more! I have yet to do the ribbon as I'm afraid some kid is going to run me over (lol) otherwise I always look forward to all of the happenings this park has to offer.

In the spring the park is in full bloom with a wide variety of native plants. The full gamut from sunny trails to forest views; you will see it all on this meadow trail. The W.W. Knight Nature Preserve is a great example of what the Wood County Park District has to…read moreoffer. Located in Perrysburg, this 44-acre preserve features a mix of environments, with woods, prairies, a large pond, and the Nature Center, a modern mixed-use building. Three different trails are available. The short one circles the fishing pond, with plenty of benches for sitting and relaxing. The medium trail goes through the prairie, around the parking lots, and over the southern pedestrian bridge crossing the pond. The longer trail goes through the Wet Woods, often on boardwalk, giving you a good sense for what the Great Black Swamp was like back in the day. In total, the trails are just over 1.5 miles in length. The Nature Playscape was located near the start of the Wet Woods Trail, and gave my daughters a great place to explore nature and play in the woods without me having to worry about them getting lost. Parking was easy at the preserve, with a large paved lot on the southern end of the preserve. The restrooms were clean and modern, located inside the Nature Center.

Some longer trails have picnic benches and other seating areas along the way. I used to come here with my dog quite a bit. The staff that work here are friendly and even gave my pup doggy treats when they saw her. It's also fantastic here because they have doggy bags at different stations throughout the area to keep this place clean. You'll see birds and deers throughout the nature preserve. I've also seen a lot of people take their graduation pictures because of this place's natural beauty. Over the years, I've seen that this place has done a great job of being educational with a lot of interactive activities (information about snakes, nets for observing fish, etc.). Whenever I'm in the area, this is the one place I always need to visit. Pros: -Free to enter -Free parking -Different trails -Well-maintained -Good for dogs -Educational -Beautiful all seasons Cons: -Depending on the time of the year, the mosquitos can be fierce! Watching the falls, especially after a rain or when the ice is moving, is dramatic. I like watching the swirling water around the rocks. The park was established by the CCC in 1932. It's located on a strip of land between the Miami-Erie Canal and the Maumee River. Look for the canal locks when you enter the park. I love this park. As a kid we did Girl Scouts here, church picnics and school dates. You can walk along the river and enjoy the fish jumping, birds and fresh air. Get a piece of slate and skip it across the top of the water. There are picnic tables and a few grills. Take a blanket and relax in the grass. Newer playgrounds and restrooms are along the long road. At the far end of the road is a primitive campground.

Melissa is an absolute rockstar of a manager. She keeps everything running smoothly while still making the place feel fun and welcoming. She also makes the best cocktails and shots every single time. You can tell she actually cares about the people and the experience, and it shows. I love that the food is simple and exactly what you want while hanging out pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks. No gimmicks, just solid bar food that hits the spot. The whole vibe feels like a party from the early 2000s in your best friend's garage or barn good drinks, good people, and fun virtual games. It's way more relaxed and fun than a boring bowling alley. This is a true down to earth hangout where you can actually enjoy yourself without all the chaos or pretense. Great crowd, great staff, and such a cool addition to downtown Toledo. I'll keep coming back.

In the front is a bar area and the back area was filled with simulation pods. One family was playing baseball and the other was playing golf. It was so cool and such a great idea to put a place like this downtown! The bar area was really cool with a large garage door to open in the warner months, 3 different slushy machines (non-alcohol option as well), a claw machine and cold beer on tap. Great spot for a bar and fun activities to do inside.
