At one point, we got a letter from the IRS asking my husband and I to provide our proof of employment, our last 3 paychecks in 2024 and 401k info. We provided all this info to them. Then the last letter we got from the IRS, they basically said the federal withholdings don't match what they show and that we will owe money, plus penalties & late fees and that we will get another letter in the mail with the details of what we owe!! I've taken all these letters to Johnny and/or Mark and they've done absolutely nothing!! They don't respond to emails or phone calls. Not sure how they are still in business!!

Where to start .. single most difficult bank I have ever dealt with opening a new account. Wanted…read moreto change from Independent Bank (just down the road from NCU in Anna) because Independent Financial just got bought out. I've been thru a prior buyout and wanted to avoid another to avoid potential problems like I previously encountered. Anyway, process started online Monday, fairly straight-forward. Then problems ensued. First got emails saying application was still pending, did I want to complete. Followed within minutes by another email saying I needed to upload IDs (which I already did). I emailed the online accts email (OnlineNewAccounts@MYNCU.COM) about concern that their process seemed flawed and perhaps insecure. Never received a reply but 3 hrs later another email came in, this time from Griselda (an actual human) requesting that I needed to unfreeze credit reports. No mention of IDs. Plus this is a first for me .. a credit report check for a bank account .. can't recall that ever happening. So I unfreeze for what should have been 2 days, but Griselda didn't try to pull until right before 4pm and it failed (I can only assume TransUnion thaw ends at 12am the unthaw date??). So I unfroze again, this time for 3 days and re-notified NCU rep of the thaw. No word from them the first day, but at 3:30pm the second day, I received vmail from Griselda asking if I unthawed them. She didn't read my notification email nor did she attempt to pull them prior to calling. So when I called back asking why she hadn't pulled them after being emailed, she then pulled them and all was good and accepted. Until .. I get notified that the IDs I had attached to the app were no good .. they do NOT ACCEPT scans of ID, but wanted me to take pictures of them and send to her. Again this is a first .. never had scans rejected by anyone else. I suspect its the younger generation where EVERYTHING is done on the phone. Last straw was when the excuse she gave me about pics vs. scans was flimsy. I have other many options, including the new Texas Bank very close by. She really didn't care about my concerns or the fact she lost a potential customer, showing me that NCU probably doesn't care about their customers, especially if they show such apathy to a potential new customer. Their loss. I'm sure others are happy with them but these were big red flags for me that I'm not willing to take the risk with so many options available.
