When he arrived (finally!) he went downstairs and my son had to show him where the drain was - right in plain sight. There was no standing water and I did not request emergency service but was told it would cost $649 for the emergency service request. He did not do anything except shine his flashlight around, came back upstairs, got in his truck, and left. All I need is to have a snake run through the drain to be sure it's clear but apparently I'll have to find a reputable company with a service person who is not rude and obnoxious.
