Do not get the Goat Curry. I have gotten the Chicken Curry - very delicious and always plenty of meat. But the Goat Curry - was practically ALL BONE. 98% was all bone. Don't bother. Most of it was just sauce and the pieces of meat that were there were the size of my thumbnail. And no, most of the bone pieces did not have any pieces of meat. I was given rice, sauce, and bones. ordered Butter chicken and garlic naan for dinner tonight. I made the mistake of ordering the spicy version of the butter chicken. It was delicious but my mouth was on fire the whole time Next time I would probably get the mild version but it was still very good! The garlic naan was delicious as well. Wowed. The photos do not do it justice. I ordered the combo naan, veggie samosas, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and a mango lassi. All dishes were excellent and it was enough to take home for left overs split between two people. The staff wears face coverings, are attentive but not overly so, and are friendly. They do a great job of social distancing and do not set your table up until you arrive, so dishes and aren't just sitting on the table. This is my third try at getting good Indian food in Dallas and this place hit the spot. I wish their buffet was open (but I am glad it's not and they are being safe) so I could try more food, but I'll be back. Sorry no photos, I devoured the food quickly. read more

This was a nice treat for the end of a very long weekend. I first want to start off by saying that the staff here is very sweet. Everyone seemed to be pitching in to help the running of the restaurant run smoothly. Second, the food is very good. I thought when I walked in that the place would be rather expensive because it was really nice inside, but the prices were very fair. Their Naan is excellent (definitely try the garlic Naan)! Last, the food comes in very generous portions. The containers that they brought the food out in appeared to be "ok" size, but as I ate and kept refilling my plate, I realized just how much food came with my order. I can eat with the best of them, and I left this place ready to pop! I was stuffed! I highly recommend this place! read more

Hugely disappointed. I said I would not come here again years ago but my son really wanted Indian food. He was hugely disappointed as well. We were told no papadam because they could not get them from India. Hmm??? You don't hand make them? Samosa doughy no crisp to outside, inside filling ok. The meat platter was dry and lacking, especially the Seekh kabob. It was burnt and looked like cat excrement. Moving past that we tried it and it was horribly dry, tough, and inedible. When ask for another offering because it was inedible we were given two small pieces that were slightly better in that I could bite a piece off like jerky. Still not edible. The Butter Chicken was fair but lacking. Will not go here again, even if I am craving Indian food. read more

Under new ownership. Even cleaner than before. Very similar menu. Some updates with more non-options. Our old favorites are still our old favorites. The chicken tikka masala is a little redder. But so good still. The tandoori chicken seemed a little creamier in the marinade but again outstanding. Dare I say better than before. The men chat and he was absolutely amazing. And they bring you out free appetizer bread now that was not there before. Can't wait for the Buffay to re-open read more

Omgosh the food is amazing. Love this place. Our first time here. I'm a fan of Indian food and I've tried several places. We ordered Veggie Samosas, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Saag, & Garlic Naan. There are spice levels so we had the Chicken Vindaloo spicy and the Chicken Saag mild. Both were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and assertive. The chef came out twice to check on us. When you think of Indian food in Dallas you automatically think of India Garden. The food is better each time and the variety of Indian food they provide is amazing. It's no surprise that they've been named one of the best places to eat by several magazines and such. I've recommended India garden to several people and they've always said great things. They do provide catering service too and it's vey well known. If you want to try authentic Indian food I would say try India Garden for sure. read more

Love the food! The owner has catered several lunches for my staff. Food is always fresh and flavorful. I tried the tofu for the first time and it was delicious! This restaurant is tucked away in a corner but it's absolutely DELICIOUS! The prices are wonderful for the large amounts of food. I ordered the vegetable platter, butter chicken, and vegetable samosas and it was all FRESH and piping HOT! The samosas are huge and steamy filled with perfectly spiced potatoes, peas, other fillings. The veggie platter was crispy and flavorful. My girlfriend and I came here tonight on a whim thanks to the excellent reviews, and they were not wrong. We got the vegetarian Samosas as an appetizer, which were flaky, savory, and delicious. For entrees, she did the Butter Chicken and I had the Paneer Tikka Masala. Coupled with the amazing garlic Naan they provide, it was an incredible combination. At the end, they even provided complimentary rice pudding, which was also super tasty. The man who sat us (who I suspect is a manager or owner) was very nice and took care of us promptly and politely. Needless to say, we've found our new weekly Indian spot. This spot is under new ownership and is NOT the same quality and taste as before. I have eaten here for the last 25 years and am so disappointed. Chicken Tikka Marsala was boring (taste wise), Naan was smaller than normal and Aloo Gobi was mediocre. New ownership says they took over 10 months ago. Good Indian food but Garland is way out there for me to drive back there all the time. Their Sunday lunch buffet was good, they had salad, a few Malayalee/South Indian dishes like dosa, vada, chutney and cabbage thoran. The dishes were all high quality and tasted great! Solid Indian cuisine restaurant. My family and I beat the lunch crowd and got there at 11:30 before lunch rush came in 30 min later. Plenty of tables available. It's buffet style so come hungry. I liked the chicken tikki Marsala. All the curries tasted the same to me so can't go wrong. If you don't like spices, probably be best to try something else (all Indian food will have some spice). Rice pudding was a good dessert choice. Don't forget to check in to get your lunch discount. For 4 people, you're looking at $12.95 per so good value as well. What a pleasant surprise...an oasis smack in the middle of freeway strip-mall Garland. I felt under dressed! Everything about this place made me food-Zen happy! First let me point out that lunch is an all you can eat buffet. Second let me point out the lunch is an all you can eat...oh wait...covered that one. Okay, well did I say how pretty it was inside. Because when I walked in I went "wow" and then my daughter came in behind me and went "wow." It's the idea of driving up to this cement strip mall and then walking into a pretty dining room with table clothes, water goblets and chandeliers. I will have photos up soon. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Let's get to the food. The buffet consisted of Naan, Rice, Chicken puff pastries with onion relish, Aloo Soog, Dal, Tandoori Chicken, Bakra (goat) Curry, Murgh (chicken) Tikka Masala, Gulab Jamun, and rice pudding. Well, at least that's what all I had. They also had a fish curry and some more vegetarian options. It's very nice that they divide the vegetarian dishes from carnivore dishes. If you are a practicing vegetarian it makes things a little easier. But I warn you, do not smell the Tandoori Chicken or you will falter in your veggie ways. Good thing they gave me a menu or my review would once again sound like I'm eating a box of crayons. The Tandoori Chicken (pink) was some of the best I've had. It was juicy and still dusted with herbs when it came out of the kitchen. The Tikka Masala (orange) and the Bakra Curry (very sweet and spicy) (brown) were both great. I loved the chickpeas too (yellow). I had thirds. The lunch buffet was a steal for $8.95. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was beautiful. I can't believe no one has reviewed India Garden before, probably because it's a little off the beaten path. That path will become a little more often beaten now that I've found it. They also have a nice wine list including some wines from India. The full menu offered a wide variety of great sounding items. I can't wait to go back for dinner. read more
