Who isn't into trying new buffets, right? I saw someone on here saying the service was bad and the food wasn't great, but I thought, let me go try it myself, haha. Here's my take: the food was pretty much what you'd expect from a typical buffet--similar to King Buffet--but that's not a bad thing! In fact, they have frog legs and coconut shrimp, which King Buffet doesn't. The ice cream was a nice surprise too--soft serve, not that icy stuff you usually get at other Asian buffets. For $17 a person, it's not bad at all. When we went, the service was fast, and they kept the food stocked. I honestly think that other reviewer might have gone on opening day or during a rush because my experience was great. I went on a Monday, and while it was still busy, it wasn't overwhelming. Overall: 8/10. Good food, great service--my only complaint is that it tasted like most other buffets, nothing that really stood out. But I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area! I would highly suggest going during the week if you're looking to go at dinner time. The food was overall good & there was alot of selection. Service was also good, a good amount of seating & I didn't feel crowded, we tried to go on a Sunday for a late lunch and we couldn't even get into the lobby. read more

My cousin and I both follow a carnivore diet so this place was a great place to get the meat that we needed and enjoy a meal together. Because it was Christmas we both admit we cheated had an egg roll some dumplings and couple cookies. The food was excellent I had beef and chicken at the Mongolian Barbecue station and then also had some broccoli and beef and a piece of meat that it said it was ribeye but it was more like brisket. I had to ask for a knife because it was a huge piece I couldn't stuff it all in my mouth at one time. The staff was very kind and helpful drinks were refilled everyone was cheerful and kind. The good was the huge varieties of foods to pick from, the waitress was pleasant, but the way they exchange the food out is very questionable. The guy that changed the buffets really just kind of rearranged the food around instead of throwing it away so I give less stars bc of that. It's hard to throw away food... The service is outstanding, the ambience is new and relaxed dress. I've come here three times. It is an average Asian Buffet bar when it comes to the selections but the food here is hot, fresh, and they keep the place clean. Buffet with drink is about $19.00 per person on weekends without tax but there is seafood on the buffett that justifies the price. The bar includes, sushi, magnolia grill, plus a fruit and dessert bar. If you are in Mesquite and hunger, head over to Town East Mall (on BJs side) and enjoy this Asian cuisines. read more

My husband and I decided to go here to celebrate our anniversary. Upon entering it was pretty crowded. We were told the wait would be at least fifteen minutes and given a number. We waited to be seated and it was more like ten minutes before our number was called. Our hostess was very sweet she attended to our every need. The establishment is pretty big size. I really enjoyed my experience here at Town East Buffet. The food was all fresh, the sushi wasn't half bad for buffet sushi and the place was really clean. My 2 year old son asked for seconds which was pretty suprising. He also dropped his plate and the wait staff came and picked up the mess and got him a new plate in less than 15 seconds. I tried this place last week. They had only been open three weeks. I was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. Nice atmosphere, attentive service and a large selection. The usual Chinese optionsbut also had snow crab, frog legs, wings, fish, ribs and a large salad selection as well. All the hot food was hot and cold food cold. I went in and asked if I could see what they had for lunch on a thursday.. everyone at the front greeted us as we came in and our group was so excited to see a clean modern decorated Asian buffet in mesquite.. there was a buffet off of town east where Ollie's is and it was trashtastic. The other buffet by sprouts is OK but has slowly slipped away over the years. At the new town east buffet, there are a plethora of selections of various foods here and I cannot wait to go back to eat lunches and dinners. read more

The food was not good at all. There was no flavor. Some of the food looked like it had been sitting for a while. There was not enough staff for the amount of people there. The service was not good either. The tables were squeezed in together for maximum capacity. Not ADA friendly. This is not worth any other visits. I'll stick to my regular place. Well today I was at Town East and notice a GRAND OPENING OF A NEW ASIAN BUFFETT. Thought I would check it out so I went in the front door. The place looked new and bright. A young lady greets me and offers me a table. She writes me a check and ask me if I wanted a drink. I ordered water with lemon. About 10 minutes later a male waiter says oh you wanted water with lemon. I said yes and he brings it to me. The young lady told me just to get the food from where ever you find it. Never showed me anything about the restaurant. The had a sushi bar that looked very un appetizing!!! The sushi looked stale and not really fresh and no one acted as though they cared... I asked some of the sushi preparers what was in some of the sushi and they could not speak ENGLISH EVEN IN MESQUITE, THAT IS AMERICA TOO!!! I ventured over to the food line and tried to figure out what some of the dishes were even with sighs on the front. CRAB dishes were very unreal and made with artificial crab meat very rubbery and with no taste. The dumplings were at least eatable but again the food non looked fresh at all. Frog legs really???? They were hard as rocks and wellllll done with no taste at all. Honey chicken was nothing but sweet coating. The chicken wing I tasted was yellow inside and more that fried hard!!!! I looked at the rest of the offerings and stopped even thinking I would try another item. Many folks were eating there and an Asian family sitting next to me said this food is terrible and I agreed. I am so sorry I even stopped and tried this place and BJ's next door should be having much more business for this place is terrible!!!! I will not be going back!!!!!
