Always hot and fresh when picking up dinner from here when craving delicious sweet and sour chicken. Even our two-year old devours her meals from Yen China Cafe. I'm simple with my orders, sweet n sour chicken and lo mein noodles. They're the best I've had in the Garland area so far! Be sure to call before placing an order to confirm they're open.

one order of Fried Wontons (8) in a very small box for $6.80 !!

This will be my last time ordering food from Yen China. I ordered egg drop soup, spring rolls, shrimp with snow peas, fried crispy noodles, and an appetizer of fried wontons. Everything is fine EXCEPT the fried wontons! I paid $6.80 for a small box of microscopic little wontons filled with maybe a half teaspoon of meat? These fries wontons are about 5 or 6 times smaller than the size they used to be! They probably used about 1, maybe 2 regular sized wonton wrappers to make this pathetically small amount of fried wontons! if I can figure out how to add a photo, I will. Do better, Yen China!!! You have lost a customer.

Recently changed to new owners but the food is still good still a same chef. The food size is less and they also cut off some delivery companies too.

I have visited Yen China Cafe three times and the food has been pretty good on all three visits. Their cheese wontons and shrimp fried rice are delicious. I will be back to try other dishes. The egg rolls weren't memorable at all. This place stays busy with customers so if you're in a rush, order ahead for pickup or have it delivered.

We tried Yen China delivery for the 1st time. Shared pepper beef and sesame chicken with fried rice also shared steamed dumplings and cheese wontons. Tiki Hubby and I both agree the food was okay.

General (Tso's) chicken, fried rice and egg drop soup

This place is absolute FIRE. This is my go to spot on my lunch break. Me and the boys are out digging trenches in the Texas heat and absolutely crush some of the crunchiest general Tso's chicken I've ever had in my life. Under $8 for a meal with entree, rice and soup!

8 pieces of shrimp for $12....

While it was good food, for $12 you would call this highway robbery. Will not order the sesame shrimp ever again.

It's not special, but ok price, decent taste and quality, but I,m thankful compared to so many crappy Chinese restaurants.

This restaurant has existed for as long as I can remember over the past 30 years. It was one of my…read morefavorite restaurants growing up, so when I recently visited home in DFW, I had to go back. And wow, the taste is the exact same. The decor is the exact same. The people are the exact same. It was truly a feeling of nostalgia that's hard to describe. My favorite dish has always been, and still is, the bamboo shoots with pork. It is so fragrant, umami, and simply delicious. The west lake soup is also a classic done so well - pro tip to add white pepper to give it a little kick. The steamed pork belly was okay - sauce is flavorful (a touch salty) along with the preserved greens but the pork wasn't as tender as I had remembered it. The fish filets are fried to perfection, full of salt/pepper flavor, and pairs well with the jalapeños. If you don't like fish, you can get the same flavor with the pork version of this dish, which I also really like. The service can be a little slow because it's just 1 chef and 1 waitress who own the restaurant - same people that have run the show since I first came here probably almost 30 years ago! Incredible to see them still working so hard and serving delicious food. They'll never know how much their restaurant and food means to me!

Tried this place because I saw Sam's video. Ordered the Jalepeno shredded pork and my friend got…read morethe tea smoked duck w/pancake. Also ordered 1 egg roll. The jalepeno pork was delicious! Great flavor and the pork didn't have that weird pork taste some Asian places have. The crispy smoked duck pancake was awesome and worth the steeper price. I wasn't a fan of the sauce alone, but in the pancake was excellent. The eggroll was a decent eggroll and the duck sauce that came with it was the best sauce I've had with an eggroll. The lady working was sweet and was working her butt off with the 5 tables she had. Felt great to support a local business. The restaurant itself is out dated but the tables and utensils were clean. The atmosphere added to the experience and the background music was just perfection.
