Dreary weather meant going out to have a cocktail and decided to try Indian Creek's new lounge, the Sand Room. If you have been to this golf clubhouse in Elkhorn in the past, you will not recognize it now. They have completely renovated it and it's beautiful! The Sand Room just opened less than a week ago and is open to the public. It's on the lower level of the clubhouse and just feels right when you walk in. The lighting, seating, and friendly staff will definitely have me coming back. They have a menu with small bites, sandwiches and pizzas. (A restaurant upstairs is scheduled to open at the end of the month with a separate menu). We chose the traditional deviled eggs as a snack although everything comes highly recommended. There were 5 on the plate, which is kind of odd because what do they do with the other half of the egg? Just include it! Anyways, I felt they were very salty and lacking in flavor although we saw quite a few orders of them going out. They have an awesome patio, furniture and fire pit outside and tv's to enjoy in nicer weather. They obviously spared no expense in furnishings, every nook and cranny had very contemporary chairs and sofas, artwork adorned the walls, just creating a very comfortable and laidback atmosphere. Excited to come back and try the new restaurant, but in the meantime the Sand Room is a great place to stop and relax for a cocktail, whether you're a golfer or not.

LOVED our time at approach. I'll be crossing my fingers to get in again soon before it takes off. Stopped in for a quick bite after running errands. Our server/bartender Carlos was top notch! Awesome recommendations, SO knowledgeable about the menu and how everything was created. There's a lot of craft and flair going on in those walls. It's a must try for everyone.

This course is so beautiful and very well kept. Came on a weekday and there were not a lot of people, which is nice. There are two putting areas before starting the course. It's very quiet and peaceful.

Another year at Indian Creek for the Korn Ferry Tour professional stop. It's another hot day, and the weather looks great for decent golf conditions. The pavillion on the 18th is outstanding from the food and beverage selection. The staff aren't the best organized with dealing with the barcodes and entrance logistics. This is the only reason why this review remains at 4 stars.

The clubhouse is a lot smaller than I expected. It looks pretty standard, nothing fancy, but there were quite a few people eating lunch when I popped in to get a gift. If you want to purchase a gift certificate, go in the main doors and then head to the pro shop off to the left. The pro shop itself is very small and quite cramped. I understand they wanted to make the most of the space in terms of retail products, but it feels like everything's on top of each other, and there's not a lot of room to stand if there's two or more people in line at the cashier. When I told the employee that I wanted to buy a gift card, he audibly sighed and said "oh boy, OK"in a negative tone. Right off the bat, this did not give me a positive impression. I asked him if everything was OK and he just said "yeah I can't really remember how to sell these." His attitude was just negative overall throughout the transaction. He did get it figured out, but it took him a few minutes, and while I was waiting a few people stacked up in the line behind me. There was another employee behind the desk and it seemed like he should be able to help out somehow, but he just stood there and didn't do anything. It also struck me as not the best customer service as if you're coming into pay, I know tee times are very specific and waiting a long time could make you late.

2 Stars - Scheels is great overall, but not for hockey…read more Scheels is a great store for a lot of sporting goods, but if you're looking for hockey equipment, I would honestly recommend going somewhere else. My son recently started getting into hockey, and we went there hoping to get some help with skates and gear. Unfortunately, it was clear pretty quickly that the hockey department just doesn't have staff with much hockey knowledge. Whether it was skates, sticks, or general equipment questions, there really wasn't anyone who seemed confident or experienced enough to help. The most frustrating experience was when we purchased skates and were told they had been sharpened by the Scheels staff. After my son had a very negative experience on the ice, we took the skates to a rink, and the staff there confirmed the blades had not actually been sharpened. That kind of thing makes a big difference, especially when someone is just starting the sport. If you're serious about hockey equipment, save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that specializes in it. Prices are very competitive elsewhere, and the staff actually care and know what they're doing. Pure Hockey on 72nd is absolutely worth the trip. Scheels does a lot of things well, but hockey just doesn't seem to be one of them.
