I recently came back after Prehistoric Putt's move to its new Omaha location, and it's a huge upgrade. The new space feels much larger, cleaner, brighter, and more modern, with four different courses to choose from instead of the two or three I remember at the old location. They also have party rooms that look like they'd be great for birthdays or group events. One thing I really appreciated was how thoughtfully the courses are designed. Nearly every hole has a spot to set down your drink, and most also have a ledge for your scorecard and pencil. It seems like a small detail, but when you're trying to putt while juggling a beverage and keeping score, it makes a noticeable difference. The theming is also impressive. The dinosaur murals and artwork throughout the building really help create the atmosphere, and several of the dinosaurs are enormous. Some look close to life-size and stretch nearly to the ceiling. We played the course with the seated zip line, which was a huge hit with my son and added something a little different than your typical round of mini golf. Overall, the new location feels like a significant step up from the original. Between the updated facility, the attention to detail, and the added attractions, it's become an even better spot for a family outing or a fun date night. read more

If you see reviews before November 2024 (before 2 years ago) then that's the old location. My niece even told us, "it's not that great." But we took a chance and ended up talking to the owner's mom who was working the counter; she told us this was the new location of the same theme. So here's what I know. They're a family owned and operated business. It's indoor putt putt which just makes sense for Nebraska winters and summers. This location has food and drinks. This location also has some 21+ times. We had a great time (blue course, players aged 16,16,19,45,47). We will go back. We would do the blue course again but will probably try a different one next time. read more

This place is a blast. So much more than I expected. They have different course based on your participants' ages. But no matter which one you pick, you will have fun. The dinosaurs are huge and the experience really becomes immersive. Definitely recommend checking for deals online before going if you are looking for more economical fun. We recently visited Prehistoric Putt with a group of friends, and this was my first time seeing their new location. I had visited the previous one before, and WOW! this new space is pretty impressive. It's much bigger, more spacious, and I love that they now have a full dining area. We went on a Sunday evening, which definitely helped because the place wasn't too crowded. There were only a handful of people there, so it felt relaxed and easy to move around. We started with dinner and ordered a pizza, a chicken sandwich, and the Philly steak. Honestly, all the food was really good. I was especially impressed with the pizza. I wasn't expecting it to be that good, but it totally surprised me! After eating, we played two courses of putt putt. Each course took about 45 minutes, and they were both pretty fun. I was a little disappointed that the hole with the zipline wasn't working since I was really looking forward to it. Some of the holes also felt a little repetitive, but overall we still had a great time. I would definitely go back, though I'd still try to avoid peak hours. You can tell that on busier days it probably gets packed with kids and families. Overall, the experience was great, and the service was amazing. Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful. So I've been taking my daughter here since she was 5 (old location) but boy have they grown. Now with multiple floors and more courses this place is sweet! Booze options for those who want and you can take them on the courses with you. We didn't try any food here so can't speak to it but looked like pizza and burger type options. To start off, this place is very reasonably priced. I was very surprised and impressed, it was only $25 for two adults to do 18 holes. Went here for my son's birthday (not a party, but something to do on his celebratory day). It wasn't that busy but the experience is pretty similar to other putting places ... kids taking forever just swinging and kicking the balls while you wait for them to finish the hole in front of you. Nothing spectalar there but the scenary was pretty cool and they had spinners so you could change up the game a bit. They also have an expensive/normal-priced arcade. What an amazing improvement! I can't lie, it was definitely time for an upgrade and they did it right! With four courses to play this is an oasis for children and adults. I was certainly nostalgic seeing all the quarter machines upon entering. The kids had a blast. Their favorite part was definitely the hole with the slide. The only thing I wish they invested more in would have been the dining. It's very nice they have food and alcohol available but they lost the opportunity to partner with a local restaurant, pop ups or open something new. This place in a new location is pretty expansive. It is multiple levels, party rooms, and a separate bar area. There is an adult only (after a certain time) area to golf in. The adult area each hole is its own enclosed maybe 10x10 design. So nothing too t crazy to goof off on but also not as painful as the entire floor is the playfield. I was onsite for a birthday and we stayed well past that time while the kids played and the adults drank. It is expansive and not clostrophibic-ish if that is a word. The HUGE dinos are pretty cool even for an adult because they feel life size not miniaturized. I will be back for sure!. Also the place is in an old shared mall but had TONS of parking but look at the map/directions first to judge your approach first. 120th and West Center sounds great but that intersection is a bit weird. I think it was an old Nobbies possibly. or basically look for Report Inn Pub and its essentially same lot-ish area to get you in the right direction. I love that the new location has so many different courses! It seems to swallow up the amount of people there a bit better than the original. They have a fun assortment of challenging, fun and creative holes on each course. I enjoyed the adults only course. This was a nice touch because I have felt a little strange as a group of adults waiting for smaller children. Having been to and enjoyed the Fat Putter, my husband and I did a date night at Prehistoric Putt's new location recently after they moved. It's set up similar to Fat Putter where you can choose from four different courses - they all have a rating for "difficulty" and "fun", with one course being 21+ only. They also have a bar area where you can get some food and drinks. They had menus advertising some special cocktails, but when we went to order them at the bar, we were told that they didn't have all the necessary ingredients to make the cocktails, so our options were limited to cans, well drinks, and what was on tap. I ended up getting a gin and tonic and my husband got a beer. We decided to do two courses this night, which I think was a mistake because after starting the second course, we were both starting to feel a little tired and bored - I think we'll choose to do only one course at a time in the future. We did the red course first, which was a lot of fun and ends with a slide down to the first floor! We ended with the 21+ only course, which we didn't enjoy as much. There also weren't as many games within the courses as there are at the Fat Putter. Overall this was fun, but I think I'll give the edge to Fat Putter. read more

Prehistoric Putt is a great way to beat the heat in Omaha, and is a family-friendly activity with lots of fun dinosaur decorations scattered around the two 18-hole mini golf courses. In my quest to find the best mini golf course in America (Prehistoric Putt in NE marks my 27th state I've mini-golfed in), I would give this place a B+. I love the theming, some of the holes are unique--like the baseball bat off the tee--and the courses are in pretty good shape. But there's little to no room to stand between holes (so when it's crowded, you can't get out of the way), some of the holes don't give you a chance to get a hole in one (which is admittedly personal preference, but adds to the fun of mini-golf in my opinion), and some of the holes seem to be exact replicas of holes at Pirate Putt across the river in Council Bluffs, which seems a bit lazy from a design standpoint (it seems to be the same company running both venues). read more

We would like to work with you to figure out what went wrong and if a refund is due back to you, we will gladly do the right thing. We are going to refund you the extra amount asap. Original review: Pre-Putt Omaha added a 20% tip to my total on top of the charges for golf plus tax. I didn't notice this until I reviewed the email confirmation of my purchase later at home. We did not order any food or drinks, and the only interaction we had was with the cashier when paying for the course. There was no advance notice that this additional charge would be applied. Traditionally, tipping is intended to supplement the income of service staff who are paid below minimum wage and who provide direct service. When a mandatory tip is added for employees who are already earning a standard hourly wage, and in the absence of any direct service, it raises questions about whether the business is using customer tips to offset its own payroll costs rather than setting prices transparently. Adding such a charge without clear, advance disclosure feels misleading. We came here on a Friday, early afternoon. The place wasn't very busy but we waited about 10minutes for someone to help us get started. We had decided to grab lunch here so the same person told us to just grab a seat and she would help us out. It took about another 10-15 minutes for her to take our order - an ordeal in and of itself. Not sure if she was new or not at all familiar with the menu. She had to ask us several times about what we wanted and even came back another time to ask about a dressing that already came with the salad. We had ordered drinks - drink came without requested water. Food order did not come out as requested, but at this point decided to let it go. When we were done, we waited for our bill and a box - finally went up to the counter and waited a bit there while our server was cleaning tables before coming to get us our bill. Food was pretty good but not sure we would eat there again, especially if it got busy. Maybe they are better staffed during a busier time. We then moved on to the golfing, the highlight of our afternoon. There were several courses - some more interactive than others. There were little holders at every hole, which was nice to put your drink, purse, etc. Again, not a very busy day so we were able to enjoy ourselves and the variety of holes. One thing of note - this seems to be a kid/family friendly place - yet the music being played had F*#k and S*^t in the lyrics - not very family friendly in my opinion. And again, this was at 2 in the afternoon. Would have to consider going back. This was a very reasonably priced activity and there were four courses to play. This is one of the best mini golf places out of all the ones I have been to. The set up was great and there were dinosaurs everywhere with info about them too. There is a lot of creativity that was put into this place. On one of the courses, you get to spin a wheel at a some of the holes and it gives you something to do, like close your eyes on your first turn. There are some stairs on one of the courses but it also includes a slide as an option when going back to the first floor. A few kid rides and games are available. There are two restrooms, one is located along the course and was much cleaner than the other one. Tip: We paid for both courses for three adults and two kids. We were there for over two hours and probably closer to three hours. I would recommend paying one course then paying for a second one after the first round. My family and I popped in here on a Sunday afternoon. The place was fairly busy but we were still able to get right in and start putting right away! The facility is well kept, seemed fairly clean and though we had minimal interaction with the staff the young girl working was friendly and helpful. We only did 18 holes and found it challenging and fun. We will have to try the other 18 next time. I don't think my putting skills can handle 36 holes. Today was our first time at Prehistoric Putt with our two kids, our son is a huge Dino fan his jaw dropped as soon as we walked in. The prices for the kids, my husband and I to play were actually a lot lower than I thought. We really liked how there were different courses and levels, it made for a funner experience. After finishing our game we walked over to the Arcade where we enjoyed various games and earned digital tokens, we started with $20 on a card and were able to play quite a bit of games. This is the second putt putt course we've tried, the first was Fat Putter. This one is a lot cheaper, but also a lot busier. There were kids everywhere that were all over the courses. We had a group of four and were dodging people left and right. The holes were really clever and fun! You can play either 18 holes or 36 holes (there are two full 18 hole courses), which is a steal for the price. I really enjoyed this course! If you like dinosaurs, this is your place. It's loaded with large dinosaurs that you play through and can touch. It's $9 for 18 holes and you can select easy or hard course options. Some of the hard holes are actually hard and we found our ball flying into others areas trying to get it over or through something. Pro-tip: Watch your surroundings. What a fun place for date night! We actually went with a small group. They ask you to stick with four, but they let us slide with an extra single who came with us and another couple. The holes were cool- varying difficulties and some twists like using your hand or closing your eyes. They had candy and snacks available, snack shack style.
