The comfort stations were meticulously clean and water stations were always just a short stroll from our site. There are 2 shallow beaches that were rarely crowded during our stay. There is kayak and canoe rentals available and we took advantage of the canoe rental to go fishing in the lake. Fishing was phenomenal as almost every cast returned at leave a small sunfish, perfect for young/beginner shoreline angler like my daughter. There are plenty of hiking trails and wild life. While fishing, we spotted some water snakes, giant snapping turtles and many frogs/toads. Only downside was the amount of mosquitoes we had to fight off due to plentiful rainfall earlier in the season. We would definitely return to camp here again and next time, we'll be sure to book for a week as the 4 days just flew right on by!

We did and wait until 10 minutes for her as she stopped to yell at other campers while on her golf cart. After tersely telling us her rules - including a 5 mph speed limit, which we felt was reasonable- she led us to our campsite. As I was driving 5 mph- we lost Pam who was indeed breaking this rule on her golf cart. The Campgrounds amenities were less than stellar. There was a dusty, dimly light game room that appeared to have not been touched in decades. The bathrooms floors were dirty. The coin operated 4 minute showers was something that I will never forget. The pool was very nice but we were told that we could only use it if there were two adults in there at all times. Our "campsite" was in the middle of an open field with other campers. There was no septic hook ups which we knew about in advance. I had to leave with our son for a few days. My wife and daughter stayed behind. That night, lights flickered in our camper and our AC went off and circuits were popping. My wife called for help and Pam's husband, John, showed. Up. He rudely accused of having a poorly wired camper- our 5th wheel was a new 2025- only on our second trip. He also rudely told her that she shouldn't have requested a 30 amp. She emphatically denied as she knows our 40 foot camper runs on a 50 amp. This was requested multiple times with as we had previously made our reservation over the phone. Pam admitted that it was her mistake and she also admitted to moving our site. John pointed out that no other campsite would help people in "the middle of the night".... It was only 9:15 PM at the end of June! We have been at Swan Bay as well as several KOA s in New York State, and had wonderful pleasant people help us well after his "middle of the night" time. John continued to insist as he yelled inches from my wife's face (witnessed by my daughter and reported by my wife) that our RV was wired wrong and he boasted that he had a degree in electrical engineering from Penn State. He stated that he knew what he was talking and that my wife needed to listen to him. My wife and I have several degrees but we both know that no degrees are needed to be kind to people. He kindly hooked a battery charger to our (labeled) Deep Cycle battery. My wife called me and said that nothing seemed to be working and I asked if the charger was on regular or derp cycle. It was regular so my wife switched it over to the correct setting. Unable to have any power, my wife and daughter, fleed early and paid for a Vrbo in the area. We had made arrangements to keep our RV there and John was nice enough to help us move it. The price for the unoccupied camper stay increased from the quoted $50 to $100 which I found out about when I arrived. It seemed reasonable at that time. Pam said that for our troubles that she would reimburse us the $100 with a check since we were taking it back home to the Finger Lakes area to have our RV dealer look it over. When I arrived for pick up - Pam indeed handed me a check - only made out for $50.00. No money was offered for the day that we had to leave. After a thorough check from our RV dealer- it was found that our camper was fine. We have enjoyed using our RV to its fullest capacities at other campgrounds the rest of this summer. We were greatly disappointed and are still aggravated by our experience this summer at the Riverside Acres campground in Clayton, NY

This place is beautiful and extremely well-maintained. The staff is more than happy to help you with any and everything you may need. For our family, our site was located perfectly next to the bathrooms, showers, and playground. The kids have been playing nonstop on the playground while the hubby and I enjoyed ourselves. The site has an angle which makes leveling your camper fun but not hard ( just have your blocks ready) Each site has a fire pit which we just added our camp grill over it. The site has water and electric. Non of them have sewer. There are primitive sites. Made some awesome food while watching the kids have fun. We took a short walk to the 1000 Island beach to see the beauty which takes you under the giant green bridge. This is be a tradition for our family for now on.

We had some unexpected visit from some friends who decided to stay over . So we put up a tent for them on our lot. They loved camping they decided they wanted to stay for a few more nights... i seen nothing wrong with it since our site was paid for.... boy i was wrong. Turns out 40$ a night for the tent.... did i mention then tent was up for 5 days before we were informed. I should have went and checked if I would have known it was 40$ extra on a site that was already paid for. I may have chosen another camper site. Awesome news until you have to get any form of work done. It was rumoured that the Lighthouse had WiFi and I had no choice in the matter. Found between the bridge to the US and Mallorytown Landing, the Lighthouse has long been a place that campers and locals would come to for necessities and the elements of civilization. The WiFi isn't the only indication that they've stepped up their game. Firstly, there's a gas station if your car or boat happen to have been caught out. You're also able to camp there. They are a registered campground and you're more than welcome to stay over. They have all the tuck shop faves such as cold drinks, snacks, maps, newspapers, and probably the tastiest coffee in Mallorytown (which admittedly may be the equivalent of being the best hockey team in Dubai, but it is good stuff and it isn't Tim Horton's). You're also able to grab a sandwich that's made daily (or made to order if you ask nicely) and homemade soup that is also made daily. Not hungry? They also offer a movie rental service that is as current as most independently owned movie stores. Oh, and if you're thirsty, they're also a fully licensed LCBO that has for its size a great selection of beer, wine, and sprits. After I was done stealing their WiFi, I was able to buy tins of Sapporo, Grolsch, Gösser, and a bottle of Casillero Del Diablo's 2007 Shiraz. Not bad at all for a campground.

This used to be a great campground, but it has gone down drastically in the past few years. There…read morewas a change in ownership just prior to COVID and the current owners have done e very little to maintain the park. Basic maintenance is lacking. The previous owner used to ensure that plant growth never got out of hand. Now you can't even use the eco trail through the woods because it hasn't been cleared in years and the overgrowth inside the pool area is getting out of hand. The waterfall in the hot tub area is no longer functional and overgrown with vines. The emergency call button by the smaller pool is hidden behind bushes. There are weeds everywhere. Speaking of pools, the smaller pool has a small hot tub attached to it, but the jets stopped working and have never been fixed. The solution was to just remove the jet timer. The pools are supposed to be heated, but nowhere near where they should be during the cooler months. We used to enjoy swimming right up through to closing weekend (Thanksgiving) but the water is much too cold now. Even the adult hot tub is no longer hot. The facilities are supposed to be cleaned regularly, but the mold in the showers and bathrooms says otherwise, as do the cobwebs in the main hallway. The playground equipment is starting to get run down and has had only one update in 5 years. There has been no paint added, no new swing seats changed out (there's not even an accessible swing available), and has never had new sand brought in. The owners themselves are rarely seen and only interact with guests when absolutely necessary. That they haven't updated their own KOA page with a little biography of themselves since they bought the place shows how little they care. The previous owner was always out and about, socializing not only with the seasonal campers but with the transients too. Right now the campground is mostly run by the seasonal residents. The only good thing is the dog park. The poop bags are always available and the grass is always well kept. Too bad it's not the case for the rest of the property. It's such a shame. This campground used to be one of the best. Now they just keep raising the prices while the quality plummets.

Sites available with electric, water and sewer hookups (no cable TV), and WiFi is functional (at least at the site we had that was close to the main building). Private shower stalls, clean bathrooms, recreation room, small pool, playground, etc. make this a good location for families. Lots of sites have shade, and there are wooded tent-camping sites within the facility. RV sites are typically close to one another, but not alarmingly so. A marina is located across the 1000 Islands Parkway (rental boats available), but access to most activities will require a short drive into Gananoque.
