Food was not disappointing. My husband and I tried a beef samosa (with chickpeas) which was a really good starter -- it comes with 2. The butter chicken was our favorite (very good and flavorful)! The chicken tikka masala was decent. And the naan was pretty good. The chicken wasn't the best quality, portions were a bit small, naan was slightly dry, water tasted weird, and chicken tikka masala tasted more like a spice base than tomato sauce and cream. After asking for recommendations from a few Indian colleagues in my office we decided to have dinner at the Indian Palace this evening. Simple decor but fabulous food! We ordered the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Massala, vegetable basmati rice, a variety of samosas and some various Naan bread. The entire family enjoyed it. Also want to give a shout out to our waitress. Super friendly, polite and not overbearing. I felt a 25% tip was well deserved. They've won us over as repeat customers! Have been there several times. Curries: Healthy style of cooking indian food, not a lot of oil. good overall Naan: i found their naan less traditional.. look like white bread roti instead Biryani: Healthy but not traditional again.. it was more like indian pulao or middle Eastern biryani. definitely not indian/Pakistani basmati rice biryani. I've tried Indian food in many different places, including ones in Toronto that people claimed were "the best" Nothing touches the food here at India Palace. All the lamb dishes are incredible, naan bread is fresh and tasty and rice portions are huge (order 1 per two people at most) There is an incredible variety here as well, several speciality naan breads, and tons of vegetarian, chicken and lamb choices as well as desserts, appetizers and more. The place is kind of a hole in the wall, so come as you are. Don't let that deter you though, the food here is absolutely incredible. I've turned a lot of friends and family on to Indian food with this place which is now a popular destination in my circles for lunches and birthday dinners. read more

Food is amazing but service is brutally slow. Waiting over 15 mins for soup and half an hour for entree, the restaurant had 4 customers so there is no reason for the food to have taken so long. I usually never give bad reviews but I was totally disappointed by how long it took, we ended up just taking it to go by the time we got the rest of our food we were full. Again. Ordered delivery because I was seriously craving for Indian food and it was too cold to go out. The order did arrive within the time they specified so that made me hopeful. Dishes ordered: Meat samosa: good portion for price. Too salty. Saag paneer: not sure if it was paneer. Wayyyy too salty. Butter chicken: strong garlic flavor which I didn't mind. Too salty. Garlic cheese naan: no flavor. Too salty. It's as if they tried to mask their lack of flavour/spices with just plain salt. And more salt. And even more salt. Incredibly disappointing. My other regret was not realizing that your tip isn't included if you order from just-eat.ca. I may order online again just to give the tip I had intended to. I ordered online and was told the food would be here in 45 min. They called me back a half hour later to re-confirm the order (they already confirmed with me online) because I was paying cash. They told me then, the food hadn't been started yet. Once the food finally got here, I realized the mains didn't come with rice. Given the prices and the general practice for Indian spots I assumed they would; my fault I guess, but I think it may be prudent for them to clearly advertise this on their menu. I asked for the highest level of heat when they ask how I would like it spiced, but there was almost no heat in either dish. Lastly, the naan was quite small and thin. All in all it came to over $40.00 for 2 small portions of sauce (for which I had to make my own rice), 2 small naans, and 3 pops. The food was pretty tasty, I'll give them that. Food is excellent. I got Lamb Korma & my son got Chicken Curry & husband got Palace Biryani (rice w/lamb & chicken). Everything is a la carte. We have to order breads & rice separate. The medium spice level is not to hot and not bland, so to me a true medium. The platter of rice is enough for two& the naan & roti are fair sized. I found my lamb well cooked & spiced. The biryani got rave reviews & the chicken curry was great to a teenage boy. The kitchen is either disorganized or they were understaffed. The one waitress was working as fast as possible but finally joined by another. I know it's family run, but need to step it up. The stars are strictly for the food. read more

I have dined at "Indian Palace" on a few occasions. This visit I tried the Mutton Madras dish with Naan bread on the side. With this dish you have the choice of mild to hot spice, and goes well with the naan bread (what doesn't go well with naan though!). The mutton madras was a change in my usual Indian dishes of choice (tandori , korma, butter chicken) - and I did not enjoy this dish as much as the others. I asked for medium spice, and it was right on, did not burn the mouth, though gave a spicy sensation - though the dish had nice curry flavour , a decent amount of mutton, it is not my favourite Indian dish. The side of naan was also good, but a bit dry. I had naan here in the past and it is usually better. Overall, I have been back on several occasions, the food is always good and service is great! Extremely Disappointed with the quality. Had Chicken Biryani for lunch.. Only thing which was fresh was the Food Poisoning I got after eating it!!! Yikes with the water.. They keep the water in the fridge open and I could taste the dirty fridge in the water!!! Will never go there!!! Make sure your Health Card is up to date if you want to go there!!! read more

Came here to try tonight because different friends have recommended it. One star is to the food. Ordered 5 items and none of it was impressive: Veggie samosa: not crispy and didn't have that puffy look from freshly prepared samosa. My fingers got that sudden shock of heat only after I was holding it for couple of seconds. I kept hearing microwave dings at the back of kitchen. Ali goobi: no sauce at all. Just cauliflower and potato in yellow. There were spices and seeds but how weird that it's not tasty after all. Chicken with cumin and curry sauce: can't remember the exact name but again didn't have that scent Indian spices give. I mean, even you buy a bottle of $4 curry sauce at grocery you will make better curry than this. Plain rice: good portion. Regular naan: nothing wrong with it. First and last time visited here. After ordering delivery from another Indian restaurant tonight I realized how spoiled I am by India Palace. Although it is not upscale or pretentious the food is always made fresh and is consistently delicious. I love that the restaurant is family owned and operated and you feel welcome and well taken care of. I will not go anywhere else in Windsor for Indian food. This was the worst Indian food I have ever had. I had heard good things from family members and was having a get together for about 10 ppl. I decided to give them a try. The paneer makhani had the same sauce as the chicken tikka masala. It was obvious the sauce is premade , and whether it be chicken or paneer it was just thrown in. The chicken in the chicken tikka masala was no breast meat, all dark meat, rubbery tasting. I ordered baingan bartha which is one of my fav dishes, the spices were not correct....?? Maybe Middle East spices, no tomatoes, bland. Do not recommend to anyone. I asked for 3 types of naans, plain which was fine, garlic which was no where in site, instead the inside of naan was rubbed with red chili powder! I have had delicious garlic naan right from the supermarket freezer!! The tandoori roti was ok. I order lamb curry... the pieces were not bite size, it was 3 big chunks with another premade sauce. Very disappointed. The only thing I could recommend is the basmati rice and maybe the raita. I will not recommend this place to anyone in search of good quality Indian food. I feel bad writing this, as this is a small family owned restaurant and the service was completely fine. However, the food was absolutely horrible. We ordered garlic naan, butter chicken and rice, which was all completely flavourless. I've never experienced dark meat being used at any Indian restaurant for butter chicken. This place used to be great but we purchased takeout from this restaurant yesterday and this will be the last time. Every single item we ordered was beyond sub-par. Butter Chicken and the Chicken special had huge, grisly pieces of chicken and the sauce was bland and flavourless. The veggie byrani was mushy and the "veggies" were clearly frozen stir-fry mix. read more
