This is one of the coffee places i would go out of my way for! Prices are comparative to any coffee place. My go to is the Java chip coffee based. It's delicious. The drive through before work is my place but i enjoy going in the smell of the fresh ground coffee. The staff is always very friendly and courteous . The place is comfortable and clean. Pulled over yesterday to finally try here after years of passing. Wanting to support more local businesses. The drive-thru line was multiple cars deep, so I went inside. I waited a few minutes while the men in front of me ordered and got their drinks/food. There was a small staff of two working that I could see. Not sure if that's normal, or just the times as everywhere seems to be understaffed at the moment. It's still a million degrees out, so I got an iced caramel macchiato. The coffee flavor was fantastic and the drink wasn't as sweet as many others who offer macchiatos. I am excited to come back and try their hot coffee and lattes. The coffee aroma exudes from the drive thru window and it makes you want to purchase 4 bags. The customer service is A1 each time and my coffee always touches my soul. The muffins are just as good! I was hanging out in Melbourne as I've done a good number of times over the past 27 years visiting family... craving good coffee. And, Starbucks is all I knew to be around.. they are okay when in a spot. But I don't consider them "good coffee"... anyway, I yelped and found Indian River Coffee Co. I used to get Mochas to judge a coffee shop, but don't much anymore because of the quality of chocolate used in most places. I have allergy to soy lecithin and it is hard to find it without. Indian River has some yummy dark chocolate! No soy lecithin. I was impressed when the guy stopped and read the ingredients it for me-- wasn't his favorite thing because they were busy.. but I was craving something other than my usual and had the courage to ask him to look... he took the time to answer my questions and still accommodated me, despite the line... and he was fast!! The mocha was delicious with alternative milk . The espresso used perfecto. My drink had just the right amount of dark chocolate and my tastebuds were happy. I found them again two days later heading out of town. The window girl was super nice and friendly and helped me with my breakfast request -- no bread but eggs and bacon-- they have great bacon! The extra few minutes it took to make my way to their shop before I headed down I-95 was worth it. If I had more time I would explore their offerings of in-store beans. The space is good and it's nice to see a local coffee place that has a drive through, but I may just try one of their plain roasts next time. They do roast their own beans and have several different flavors you can buy by the pound and also have 3-4 different options to choose from for your daily coffee as well as all the standard barista offerings. But I drove around the parking lot and there it was, in a small standalone building, right in front by the main street, exactly where I should have seen it the first time. Not too sweet but still got the chocolate and caramel in balance with very smooth coffee. I loved the clean, black-and-white decor that reminded me a little of Art Deco and a little of an old-style malt shop. So support your local barrista awesomeness! Really, does your bucked mega-chain have White Fang and Aloha/Scrump Lattes? I think not! Left with a little sealed "gift pouch sized" bag of ground coffee, going to bring it as a little present for my coworker in town. Perfect size for an impulse buy. Pretty impressed with this purist, no-frills coffee spot. The in-house roasting gives it an umph. I've only had the cold brew, which I like (bold/dark roast) and my co-workers liked their hot pumpkin lattes and iced lattes. The drive-thru is a bonus. Helps that they open early! This review has been a longtime coming, but I really LOVE Indian River Coffee Company! I have been coming here for years! First at their location in Suntree, then when they moved to the shop near Home Depot in north Melbourne, and now at the Sarno Rd. location. Bomb diggity java baby! :) I often have their coffee scrumpacino with no whip cream (I am not usually a fan of whip cream because it makes things too rich for my taste). It is not too sweet (very important in my book!) and very robust coffee flavor from their fresh roasted coffee beans, awesome! I love a good coffee shop, and Indian River Coffee Company really delivers! I am not a fan of Starbucks AT ALL, plus I really like supporting local businesses. I have had other things from them as well, including their hot chocolate, which is made from really dark, bittersweet chocolate and I love that as well for a treat.
