The Westmoreland Arts & Crafts Heritage Festival is in its 42nd year and is always scheduled around the 4th of July weekend. It is located in Twin Lakes Park. This year, it runs from June 20 through July 3. Over the years, it has expanded and attracted artisans from all over the country. The items for sale range from wood crafts, jewelry, pottery, art prints and paintings, plants and other specialties. Also, one can wander through the park and find great food to purchase. Popular choices for many are the fresh raspberries and ice cream, fried vegetables, and wood fired pizza. I tried steak fajitas ($7 for two) and French beignets ($4 for about 8) from one food booth. I was very pleased with both. There are several stages that offer different musical genres. A schedule for performers can be found on the web site. The Island Stage is the main performance area, but check out the stage located a short distance from the boat house. Around that stage are several craft and food booths. If you feel like walking, there are reenactors located on the upper lake. So, there is plenty to see, music to listen to, food to eat and beautiful items for purchase. There is also an area for kids to make crafts and play. CONS: Although, things are spaced throughout, this festival draws a big crowd. Sometimes a little patience and a smile is needed when waiting in food lines. No alcohol is served, but there are water, cola, Gatorade booths. The thing is you have to purchase tickets to buy your beverage. I don't know, why not use cash for beverages, too? Parking is sometimes at a premium but some people let you park on their property for a price. There are shuttle buses available, but riding in a hot school bus isn't something I care to do. They seem to have a good system though, by dropping passengers off at an entrance area of the park and picking riders up at the other end. No dogs are allowed in the festival area. I think this is a very nice way to spend time over the holiday and has something for everyone. More information can be found on their web site.

The one noticeable addition to the festival is that more ethnicities are now involved. I missed last year, so this may have happened last year, but I was unaware. It's a great mix of multicultural awareness. And oh my god, it's a great mix of food to get. The food selection has expanded and you can get food from the churches, from street vendors, and now from food trucks from around the area. I left here this year so full of so many different foods that I could have had the UN in my stomach. My stomach was at harmony. Too bad that this only happens once a year and not every single weekend.

A friend asked me if I would like to go out to get some berries. We got there after berry picking time for the day, which closed around 2 PM, but there was still plenty of time to buy berries in their market, freshly picked by their workers, and enjoy other fun things at the farm! We fed the goats, who were the sweetest, tamest goats I have ever met. (Frankly, they completely changed my opinion about goats, with which I have had some unpleasant memories in the past.) You can pay a quarter for some food and feed it to them by hand, and not a single one took it from me anything less than gently. There is also a super cute feature where you can send some food up to goats standing at the top of the pen via a pulley system. There were several baby goats here when we visited and they were ridiculously adorable. From there it was a stop at the café window where we ordered strawberry lemonade slushies that were an absolute delight. It was late in the day and they were out of several of the food offerings; I was told by my friend that the hot pretzel is fantastic, but didn't get to find out. So I went with some freshly made donuts, and it was only a few dollars for half a dozen blueberry donuts. They are wonderful eaten fresh just like this, but when you take them home you can heat them up for 10 seconds to get that just-out-of-the-oven taste. Finally we stopped in the shop which is full of all kinds of home, pantry and fresh food items. I came home with a pint of raspberries, a big bunch of strawberries (last of the season!), jars of pickled beets and bread and butter pickles, and a block of baby Swiss cheese. Everything has been absolutely fantastic and it would be easy to go absolutely wild in this store. Lots of events here during different seasons, especially apple and pumpkin season in fall which is their busiest time. After that they close for the year at Halloween. Come out and pick some berries or fresh lavender here this summer! It's a local gem.

Paying $20 for such a poor experience felt like a complete waste. What was even more disappointing was how the situation was handled. I returned the box and explained the issue. The employee simply took it back without any apology, explanation, or attempt to make things right. There was no offer of a partial refund, a voucher to come back when berries were actually available, or any acknowledgment that the experience had fallen far short of expectations. I understand that crops and harvest conditions can vary. What I don't understand is advertising a good picking experience when there is very little fruit available and then showing complete indifference when a customer expresses disappointment. Customer service matters just as much as the product. Unfortunately, this business failed on both counts. I won't be returning, and I would encourage others to call ahead and verify conditions before making the trip.

Even with a wide variety of schedules to coordinate, travel time/distance to factor, a fairly short growing season, and weather considerations, we've managed to make it happen each summer, and I hope we can continue for many more years. The farm is expansive and beautiful. The "ready" rows are well-marked, and it's easy to pick buckets full of ripe, delicious berries. There are several types of blueberries grown on the farm -- we like them all and pick whatever happens to be ripe on the day we can visit! Even when there are a good number of vehicles in the lot, the farm is large enough for us to have never felt even slightly crowded while in the fields. We do we see other people picking berries, but there's lots of space. The people who work at the farm are very friendly and helpful. They also have lots of tips for using blueberries! The price for u-pick berries is very reasonable, and it feels like a great deal as well as an experience. The pre-picked berries aren't very expensive, either, and I'm guessing they also taste very good. We almost always leave with "way more berries" than we thought we needed or were going to pick ... and we always end up eating them all. We've even gotten into the habit of bringing a few cups with us. After paying, we wash some of our blueberries in the sink of the restroom near the register. Then we have fresh snacks for the ride home! Overall, I highly recommend Stutzman Farms and their "U-Pick" Blueberries.

As of this post they have not changed their website nor provided me with a refund for their misleading intentional product advertisement and in my opinion if they so blatantly practice deceit about the product size how can you trust they are not doing the same thing with ingredients and processing. Again my personal opinion and the reason I choose not to trust them or their products anymore and write this review for others to have opportunity to know before purchase they potentially are not being honest about what you are getting vs what you paid for. Friendly buyer beware

The whole place is kept very clean, and the snack bar is filled with all the "tterrific but horrible" movie theater offerings you would expect, including nachos, burgers, ice cream, and (of course) candy, pop, and popcorn! But, these prices are much more realistic and reasonable than at the walk in theaters. The staff is wonderfully friendly, and there have always been two working pinball machines when we visit! The audio and visual quality of the movies is always terrific. You'll also get to see some nostalgic advertising - like the countdown in between the movies, which I'm guessing is actually from the era it depicts. (If not, it does a great job at making it seem that way to a modern audience.)

The prices can't be beat: $10 for adults and $8 for students / seniors. Seating is generally first come first serve, so I suggest you get there about fifteen to twenty minutes before the show starts if you want a specific seat. However, the theater is small (about 70 seats) so there aren't really any "bad" seats. Although available, advance tickets aren't necessary for most shows. They usually have limited concessions such as bottled water and homemade brownies at performances. The Playhouse is also available for rental by performers or fundraising groups at good prices. Be aware that this is a cash only establishment.
