This coffee shop is located right on Route 30 and is rather large inside. They have their coffee roaster on display, as well as a small area near the cash register with items for sale and a display case. They also have plenty of seating and the inside has a warm feel with high ceilings, colorful walls, and natural light coming in through the big front windows. One wall features coffee themed artwork, and another area has stacks of burlap coffee bean sacks labeled by origin, which gives the shop a cozy roastery atmosphere. For my coffee on this morning I ordered a large oatmeal cookie latte. My drink ended up being pretty good because the coffee flavor was present and it really did taste like an oatmeal cookie. There was plenty of oatmeal flavor combined with a lot of sweetness. My wife also enjoyed her iced coffee and liked the rich flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would come back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees, and the shop itself was a nice place to stop.

And finally, check out the story about Bittersweet's roots, its commitment to addiction recovery/support, and the owner's son's story/passing. The same Iron Star that owns Coffee Tree shops. If this coffee is any indication, I think I need to visit Coffee Tree again. It's been a while. Anyway, I had a really good cup of coffee and a peanut butter and jelly cookie. No complaints on the cookie, but I wish they had some breakfast sweets like scones or cinnamon rolls. Next time I'll try some real food. Just be aware that things are a little pricey here.

Props to this new business for organising the first ever Latrobe Italian Festival! Held on Saturday…read moreand Sunday September 10-11, 2022. Based on Thompson Street next to the beautifully restored Italianate home of 512. I wanted to support him by buying something during the festival so I opted for a salted caramel ice cream in a cup. They sell Korber's ice cream but I don't think they turn it over fast enough to prevent freezer burn. Every ice cream I've tried here has had ice crystals in it. And so did this one . I think the coffee side of the business is more robust than the ice cream side. I'll keep trying because I want to support the local entrepreneurs like Mike. I hope he finds a way to keep that ice cream fresher.
