I knew there was a garage but I parked on the street a block away, which was the right decision as I heard it takes long to exit the garage after the show if you park there. It is such a beautiful space. When I got inside, it was unclear where I was supposed to go. But once I went to the right section,The seat was easy to find. However, unfortunately the people with poor etiquette ruined my experience a bit. Some were constantly talking during the performance, others took out a phone with a bright screen in when it was dark. I think they need to remind the audience to be courteous and respectful, although it is a common sense.

I liked the Jingle Rails special holiday exhibit which featured recreations of many landmarks across the United States with electric train sets moving throughout the exhibit. I shared a few of my favorite sights with this review. There is also a nice cafe that has a pretty full service menu. Since we already had lunch, we only stopped by for a soft drink. You can actually visit the cafe without visiting the full museum, and receipts to the cafe can actually validate the underground parking at the White River State Park!

We came in through The Indiana State museum and walked out on the canal and entered in the back way. We were greeted by the most wonderful volunteer, very helpful and enjoying herself. We entered to music playing and people exploring the grounds outside. Plenty of space to walk and enjoy outside. We walked up the steps to discover the play area and more steps going up to outdoor seating for the cafe. We entered the kids play area. I loved the creative play offered inside. The library and all of the resources provided. My grandson had the opportunity to play and explore for a while. Pose for a few pictures and then upstairs to the exhibit area where some vendors were set up. I always enjoy engaging with the vendors and finding out about their different offerings. I purchased and few things and then we made our way through the museum. It was a wonderful time. Something educational for my grandlove and outof the norm for us. They have made some upgrades ans changed some things since I was here last. Looking forward to our next opportunity to stop in and see whats in store.

Winterlights is an enchanting experience that I look forward to every year along with Harvest Nights and Art in Bloom. This year was extra special because I was able to score tickets to the Behind the Scenes tour. It's truly spectacular to wander around the grounds after dark to enjoy the extraordinary display of holiday lights and decor. I will definitely return every winter to see what changes they make (each year has some variations). The Lily house decorations are always incredible. So much dedication and thoughtfulness put into the handmade displays and attention to detail is unparalleled. Grab a hot chocolate or cider and a friend or lover to celebrate the holiday season at Winterlights as soon as possible. It's a must see!

The Rock the Ruins people turned it all around, though, and spun the cancelled concert into a hip-hop DJ party! That is some quick thinking on their part. We stayed and ate Lou Malnati's pizza from the Lou stand, and got Ice cream at the BRICS table, and there were some other food trucks there, too. All of them take cards. We got the upgraded "silver" experience, which lets you park and enter through the premium entrance by the Nature Center. You also have access to a designated food and beverage tent, climate-controlled restrooms, and some exclusive food options. I'd definitely spring for this again if I attend another Rock the Ruins concert!

A recent fave of mine is The Shake Bar, a Steak 'n Shake brand that specializes in luscious, over-the-top milkshakes. I love to get the Oreo shake as a treat for my game or showtime experience. Some other tidbits - you're allowed to bring in a clear water bottle that's either factory sealed, or an empty reusable to fill up at a fountain. Another alternative is the DD program, where you can get a free soda with a voucher from guest services. You can't purchase any alcohol after that point because you get a wristband that would indicate as such. But if you're looking to stay sober for the evening, this is a great perk!

There are parking garages and metered parking available, if you can find it . If you have your choice of the 2, you will come out a lot cheaper. The place is located downstairs in the Panera Bread building. If you are not paying attention, you will miss it. Masks are required by all visitors, even kids. But don't worry, if you forgot or don't have one, they have some available for you. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. So after you get there and pay your admission they give you a bag with a couple of pair of drum sticks and mallets to play the instruments in the place. The bag also contains some very valuable items, ear plugs. They are worth the price of admission alone. Just kidding the place really did not get that loud while I was there. The place has many percussion instruments that can be played by visitors including a traditional drum set, an electric drum set, congos, xylophones, chimes, timpanis, tamborines, cow bells, wood blocks, marimba, and a gong. The self guided tour starts with a huge wall mounted bass drum. If you hit it and stand near it you can feel the waves go through your body. In addition to all of the interactive instruments, they have displays, videos and information boards throughout the place. They also have two sound rooms with drum sets and other instruments that you can experiment with sound in different type of venues. This place is really a fun place to learn. This fully interactive place teaches children about percussion instruments and gives them the opportunity to try them out. It also turns a grown up to a kid wanting to jam out. The museum is kind of small and we were able to thoroughly go through the place in about an hour. The tour ends, where most do....in the gift shop. My little had such a good time that we could not leave there empty handed. So I got a kazoo (what was I thinking) and a shape drum ( again, what was I thinking). Anyway, this a great fun and either an introduction to percussion instruments or just plain fun for percussion enthusiasts. It is definitely worth a visit and is a must see.

There was lots of signage to keep you informed on what kind of musical instruments you were playing and it was kind of like a museum of musical instruments. It was a great time although my toddlers lasted all of about an hour here smh. Older kids would probably play the instruments for much longer than mine did. I would definitely come back but maybe next time with my niece and nephew who are older.

REV is the event of the year. Ladies, Gentlemen, everyone, buckle your seatbelts because it is a…read morenight full of the best food in the city, great cocktails, some of the best live music, and everyone shows up dressed to the 9's all to raise money Indiana University Health Foundation. The food never fails to amaze me. You walk as much as you eat, and I always look forward to the slippers at the end of the night. The whole night is like 170 miles per minute but I have a few highlights. The Simplicity Bottle Cocktails: First of all, they're delicious, locally made, with fresh juice (so it's like healthy, right). The closable drink is highly welcomed especially as your hands fill with food. Next Tinker Coffee, Rev is a LONG night (in a good way) and I love a little shot of GOGO juice. I'd love for this to be closer to the entrance as a welcome drink. I try to start with the hall with Bluebeard, etc. - this is my favorite (team-savory) section. Last year was a lot of seafood (:( seafood allergy), but there were still enough good options. Last year, they had a whole section of local spirits!!! Poor planning on my part - I didn't find this till the end, it was in the third hall (north hall). Each Hall also has their own band / dj and it's own vibe so feel free to float around and find your fit. The dance party at the end of the night is EPIC! It is the perfect sendoff and last hurrah before the end of the night. The whole night in general just feels magical.
