Incompetent! Dear lord. Three times have we brought in the bulbs we need and had them order the wrong item. We schlep over with the bulb, are told it can be ordered, then get the call that what we want is in. Come back and: wrong again! Are you kidding me? If you aren't competent in your business, how do you have one? No offer to do anything for the multiple wasted miles, wasted time and frustration. Not a great business model. Too bad this seems to be the only place to find rare bulbs. This is why people switch their business to online vendors. read more

Decided to visit Indiana Lighting looking for dining room lighting. Walked in, walked around the store, checked almost every fixture without an employee to greet or ask if I needed help. After about 10 minutes a lady asked if I had been help, I replied "No". She asked for help, sending an older man who asked me, "What do I need help with??". I told him I was looking for lighting....so he walked back to his office, sat down and continued whatever he was doing on his phone. Never again. I called into Indiana Lighting Center to see if they had lamp shades available and she said they did. I drove in there thinking this was going to be the perfect place. As I walked in no one greeted me or said hello. As I was wondering through out the store looking for the lamp shades, I finally found them by myself after 10 minutes or wondering around, and no one seeing if I needed any help. Multiple employees walked right past me and said nothing. I am in customer service and sales and I would never walk back into the building. I did not purchase anything because of the lack of customer service. read more

We had a wonderful experience at their store today. My husband and I went there near closing time, yet they were extremely accommodating to us. Even though they appeared very busy, we were interested at looking at a particular light that wasn't turned on and several staff jumped in to try to help us. They had to get out a ladder to get up to the light to successfully get it turned on for us! We interacted with two or three different staff members, and all of them were patient and understanding while answering our questions. read more

No skill in customer service is unfortunate... I will be taking my Interior Decorating Clients and Home Staging clients elsewhere to spend their money. This business has staff who really know what's available - and who will help you design the right lighting solution for your home. We did a major remodel and the options are a little overwhelming. But the staff asked good questions. Once they knew my constraints and how we were going to use the rooms, they helped us make the (much shorter) list of what would work without breaking the budget.
