I needed to book inspection really quick, and when I contacted them they came back to me with a quote right away, and their email was very informative and thorough so I had a very good understanding on what I needed to do and what to expect. They were able to inspect the house the next day which I was impressed with. He was there early in the morning and was done with it when I arrived there for the consultation. He explained everything thoroughly and answered questions I had, and I thank him for catching signs of roof leak and some other minor stuff as well. Very thorough. He also prepared the report for me a few hours after that and this helped me tons to get the process move forward to beat my aggressive timeline. I hired Christian when needing to have an inspection on a home here in Indy. I was impressed with how thorough he was, and received the complete report within 24 hrs! He arrived an hour before we got to the home, which was nice so we didn't just have to sit around the entire time he was inspecting. He then took his time going around and showing us the major issues, and pointed out some other areas where we should keep our eyes on. He was extremely friendly and told us we could reach out to him at any time with additional questions. Due to some issues at the home I am using them for a reinspection and have no doubt that he will let me know if everything has been completed correctly as asked. At this point, we've received a cease & desist letter (via email) from this company's counsel, asking us to not only remove our original review, but also provide a written retraction -- which would, in essence, be an admission of dishonesty. We continue to stand by our original review as an accurate representation of our experience and feel it's unfortunate that a company, in response to a negative online review, would go immediately in the direction of threatening legal action instead of working towards a solution that could appease both parties. Again, we our original request was for a partial refund, not a full refund, because we believed it was fair the original inspector be compensated for his time. We later increased our ask to a full refund due to our frustration with not being able to connect with the company directly for a number of days. I would've considered increasing my review by a star due to the likability of the original inspector, but I can't just say "meh" to an experience where a company has attempted to bully my wife and I into silence. I am not disbelieving of others who have left positive reviews for this company, so maybe this was just an anomaly for them, but it's also possible they've bullied others into removing negative reviews. That said, I feel it's important that my personal experience remain on here for their potential clients to weigh against other reviews. read more

This is the company you want. Christian went above and beyond! Found many issues that the seller (a new flipper) did not disclose or failed to properly disclose. While we loved the home, the defects were enough for us to question the workmanship of the rest of the home. Not only am I thrilled with my experience, but it even left the seller in awe. Craig was fabulous to work with, he left no stone unturned. His attention to detail was almost unbelievable, and he has a keen ability to calmly explain and walk through issues while not alarming you as the buyer. I had a very similar and wonderful experience to what others have mentioned below, however Craig did find a major defect at the house that was causing a slow carbon monoxide leak. He made sure to let the sellers know so they could have the problem remedied while they continue to live in the house. Iron Gate Inspections surveyed my home and wrote a report for a client. In this report they made comment and recommendations that were not to code and in error. They were unaware of the code differences between electrical and gas appliances to name just a few of my professional concerns in their work. It seems their recommendations in the home inspection is designed to support contractors in the local area as apposed to consulting the new home buyer with viable recommendations which reinforce the structure and value of the home. Too many comments layer other parties to give an additional expert opinions--this group seems to lack confidence and expertise to comment as experts on home structure and systems. I recommend you seek an inspector with broader expertise. read more
