I went for a consult, thinking I had a cosmetic issue only, but it turned out after a very thorough (and free!) ultrasound exam that I had venous reflux. In the last year, I've had EVLT (laser ablation), sclerotherapy (needles! but don't worry, it's not that bad), and laser treatment (zap!) there. Dr. Schoonover is one of the best MDs I've ever seen---very nice, great bedside manner, listens to all of your questions and never makes you feel rushed. Maggie, the RN, is kind and skilled and always concerned about patient comfort. Natalie and Diana in the front office are always so nice and helpful when it comes to scheduling and billing, and the ultrasound guy, Nathan, is great as well. They're all extremely professional but also have a good sense of humor, which I totally appreciate in a medical provider. I had an evaluation, but found out that I won't need treatment. Although I won't be back for service, I highly recommend this office. The office staff, both clinical and non-clinical, are very professional and attentive. My visit was very thorough and efficient; minimal time spent waiting in reception area and exam room. I especially appreciate the fact that they use laminated sheets w/ dry-erase markers for all "paperwork"...very eco-friendly. I came in for an appointment to get the veins in my legs removed. The doctor said they needed to close a couple major veins in my legs before they could start working on the visible ones. I was not wanting that but I told them ok if that's what's needed. After I had three treatments with the laser they ran all the way through my major leg veins they started giving me shots around the visible veins. After several costly visits totally a few thousand dollars the visible veins in my legs were still there and new ones showed up after they did the laser treatment to close veins off permanently. I was not wanting for it to be a year and a half process that didn't work and cost that much money ! A few small areas did go away but most of them did not and like I said new ones popped up all over after they closed off two of my veins. They will get you in there and give you the big story and not tell you that they like for it to be a major process so they make more money. They will make it a two year process and collect your cash and then it possibly still wont work. It could even get worse afterwards like mine did. I went to the Carmel and Fishers locations several times. read more
