For background, Metro is a STEM school that also pushes a very strict mastery agenda. You need to have a 90+ on all assignments to be considered passed with them. If not, you must remediate asap. My experience, as I said, was hell. One of the things I noticed, is that they do absolutely nothing about bullies and people saying slurs. I had this one kid on my class, constantly saying the n word and the f slur. Nobody did anything, they just scolded him and loved on. The school does nothing but maybe give them a suspension, even if it's a repeated instance. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, this is not definitely the school for me, and might not be the school for your child either if they suffer from chronic anxiety/depression aswell. Deadlines are deadlines at Metro, even with my 504, I would only get an extra day to turn assignments in. I understand they can't give me a week, but my teachers wouldn't even care for my 504. I was supposed to get guided notes, only got 1 packet out of the two teachers I was supposed to get them from in my second semester. If you cannot keep up with getting all A's and turning work in on time, I would NOT recommend Metro. I would also say's Metro worsened my anxiety. I had a lot of things going on outside of school aswell, and everything between that and the school got so bad I had to get on antidepressants antidepressant. I had friends who suffered from chronic illnesses, and they would have piles of work to do when they got back. If your child is apart of the LGBTQIA community, they WILL get bullied. I had a trans friend and he would constantly get called by his deadname and the same guys would constantly ignore his pronouns. There is also another trans student and she constantly got made fun of and talked about behind her back. I practically had no free time outside of school, it was all studying and homework. Sometimes on weekends I'd also have homework. Over the summer, before your child joins high school, they have to do a research project. Made absolutely no sense to me. The bathrooms, disgusting. I've heard stories form the boys bathroom, pee all over the walls. The girls bathroom, bloody tampons, pads, shit in the toilets. It may be the #1 STEM school, but that does not mean it is good. Please do further readership and read more reviews. I would only send my child here if I truly knew they could keep up. If I could, I would definitely give it a 0 star rating.

This schools classes is basically AP And Honor Classes and isnt worth any time with work .24/7 and extra things like needing service hours or roundtables to graduate. Its really not worth it because some people think its extra college credits but it could be done in a regular school by taking AP,Honors or classes above grade level and in Junior Year you should be able to go take colleges classes so really its not worth it

Well, one is for older kids or even adults, just climbing and exercise equipment. In a fenced area is a small playset for little kids. Baby K liked it fine, but with a huge one next door she didn't stay long. It's good-not-great, and the great one wins. But, nice for a break or variety, or if the big one is busy.

A lot of us have been eating here daily, or avoiding it, for most of our lives. We decided it was overdue for a proper review of both the fare and the atmosphere. Open Monday through Friday, its limited breakfast and lunch service only at most locations. Seating is rarely an issue, unless you intend to sit at the cool kids table. Then reservations are required. Everyone else is on their own. The hum of fluorescent lights, neutral tone walls, and stifling heat are certainly a mood. If the din doesn't overwhelm you, the absence of deodorant might. The menu changes daily, but repeats often, keeping things fresh. No, not that kind of fresh. The shelf life on most items ranges from almost expired to zombie apocalypse proof. Brown bagging it is a better bet for those with low threshold gag reflexes and/or weak constitutions. But for those who rely on school lunches for basic nutrition everyday, it's no wonder teen angst, self-loathing, and nihilism are so prevalent. We have to give it one star, only because zero stars isn't an option. However we definitely recommend that Superintendent Talisa Dixon and the Columbus Board of Education check it out for themselves.

This school district, every school in it, is an absolute nightmare. Unfortunately I have no choice…read morein schooling for my daughter. I can't afford to send her to a private school. I can't homeschool as I work full-time as a single parent. So a low class public school gets to scar my daughter, and fail to actually teach her anything other than misery, hurt, and heartache. From the age of 6 my daughter has been bullied, by the staff. In Kindergarten she was forced off the bus at the wrong stop 18 times. One time, the sitter called and said that she was not on the bus. It took 22 minutes for the school to find her, she was 6. When they found her, took her to the correct bus stop and dropped her off. Then called me (her mother) and told me that they dropped her off with her mother and they wanted to let me know. After being bullied by 2 different teachers in her school by 2nd grade, we switched to one of the other elementary schools within the district. Things didn't get much better. She was actually sent home with no shoes one time. Her shoes were stolen by another student, she reported it, the office told her to finish her day at school and then go home. She was a walker at this point, and had to walk 1/2 mile home with no shoes in 4th grade. The school never bothered to call me and tell me what happened. By middle school she was being bullied and having sexual rumors spread around the school. After several attempts to meet with teachers, counselors, and principal failed I contacted someone for legal help. School still didn't do anything except to tell me that 'students just do things like this to get attention. If we leave it alone they will stop picking on her'. In 9th grade, she wanted to do classes in the summer school program to get them out of the way. These classes were supposed to be online, aka she didn't have to attend a school building. I verified this - called and asked specific questions and was told that the only time she had to show up to a school was to take the tests, that she could do all of the lessons online at home. Wrong! After the first week of working from home, completely all the lessons for the first 4 chapters, she went to the school to take the first test. Only to be told that she had been dropped from the class because she had not shown up the first four days. No attempt to contact me was made to find out why she wasn't showing up. They just dropped her. Also in 9th grade, during a parent teach conference I was told by a teacher that she was doing great in class. Homework was all turned in on time, she seemed to be getting all the concepts, "One of his best students". Since he would not use the online grade book required by all the teachers I couldn't know any different, until I got her report card 3 weeks later. She had a 19% and it was noted that she had not turned in any homework. After trying to contact this teacher 4 times I finally got a call back, at which he told me he didn't know what I was talking about that he doesn't recall me even showing up to parent teacher conferences. All in all, the teachers don't care, they treat the students like crap - even worse than crap if the parents try to be involved (God forbid). They let students ride what ever buses they want, get off at any stop they want, even sometime refuse to let them off at the correct stop. Students can skip school, and the parents never get notification. Now that she is old enough to stay home alone I am trying to switch her to an online school. Because of the school district I am having trouble even doing that. They refuse to give us a transcript, have refused the new school even a verification that she was enrolled in this district. This district bends over backwards to make every moment spent here an absolute nightmare. If you have any way what-so-ever do not let your children walk through their doors. You will regret every minute.

Teacher after teacher told me my son had attention issues and suggested medication. You can imagine the emotional heart ache for both of us. Now, as a 5th grader we have transferred him to St. Joe's and we are sending my younger son (3) and step daughter (7th). I can't say enough about the teachers, the staff and the community of parents. They have welcomed us with open arms and we look forward to many years ahead. In his initial weeks at summer camp my son came home exited to learn for the first time in his life! So, my research begins, and I call St. Joseph Montessori with high hopes. They are happy to meet with us so I schedule a visit. We toured the school, met with some of the teachers, and discussed some of the differences between the Montessori we came from and their program. They even met with the kids one on one and talked about how sweet they both were. Now, let's keep in mind some things - this school is a) a MONTESSORI...founded on principles of Maria Montessori who famously taught those who were cast off by society. Her methods were meant for EVERYONE. And b) this Montessori is affiliated with a CHURCH. "Love thy neighbor...well, not THOSE neighbors..." After I explain to those I had met with that my son is Autistic, the vibe changes. My child, who 5 minutes ago was "so sweet and funny...really creative!" was now getting pity eyes and the stare. Then, the decision... "Well, now that I look at our enrollment, we are already committed to too many kids in your [Autistic] son's grade and sometimes make exceptions but in this case we just wouldn't be able to accommodate him. (Interesting...you had room when I called to set up the appointment...hmm, that's a mystery) But, we would be happy to take your typical son." I think y'all need to read that Bible again.
