He struggled in public schools. We met at times monthly with school staff regarding IEP Diectives and goals. The paper looked good but the learning environment could not achieve the goals. We were met in public school with multiple obstacles including unbelievably that public school teachers were not required any special training for learning disabilities. The pain we all went through included student and parent shaming amd other atrocities. Thankfully another parent recommended MARBURN ACADEMY. Right away they took our son to much better learning and social environment. We saw our son blossem and gain self confidence. The teachers are incredible. Indianola is an alternative school that allows kids to be kids - you start each day on the "carpet" as a group and then go to work stations around the classroom depending on what you want to pursue. Age groups are mixed, diversity is omnipresent and creativity ensues! I was mapping constellations in 3rd grade and did a project on Kwanzaa in 4th... not your run-of-the-mill elementary school experience. And try finding a better school motto than "friends are like rainbows." Can I go back to school here now? Please?

When I went to the boys restroom inside, they had no hand dryer or paper towel dispenser. The metal detector is for students, staff, and visitors. However, during the event is where athletes and coaches did not have to go through the metal detector during the Andrus Classic. I immediately noticed that most of the staff did not smile or interact in a happy way with the little toddlers . They constantly barked out corrections to the kids and someone was always in the director , Traci's office being talked to . They eventually kicked our little girl out of the school because she had occasional accidents in her pants. No consideration given to the fact that she might be somewhat behind because of her extreme prematurity. She was very upset to leave all her friends and cried when she couldnt return to class. The staff atDCA are very impatient unless your child is perfect and few are. They really shouldn't be in the childcare business in my opinion. They really put the " Christian"in Delaware Christian academy..... not. Save $200 a week on go elsewhere! The playground is huge and fantastic, and it is located in close proximity to Sunny 95 Park, creating a really nice large space for play. The playground features a large merry-go-round, several traditional swings, seven different slides, an obstacle course that includes climbing, jumping, and strategy to complete, and this neat large net to climb and explore. There is also a Safety Town type set up that's very cute, featuring things like a fire station and police station play areas, and tiny streets with signs that kids can ride their bikes and scooters on and practice the rules of the road. We actually stumbled across it during a visit to Sunny 95 Park, so we had parked over there and walked over, but it looked like the school also has parking available. There are benches and picnic tables available around, and the picnic tables have some wonderful shade under the trees.
