This isn't your every day thrift store. It's more of an antique store thrift store collectible store all in one. There are things I personally am not interested in (coins, knives, sports cards), but I do love that they have such a variety of items - both rare and hard to find as well as things you just need (western cowboy cowgirl hats, vintage and modern fishing gear (took pics of reels, fly fishing items and wood lures), off-road gear (motorcycle boots, helmets, etc), modern and vintage gaming (I saw Atari and Wii), books, hiking gear (backpack), etc.). Ok here goes - I'll try to include everything I saw (in pics and words). Automobilia, vintage license plates, die cast cars, vintage military items (Vietnam, WWII), crystals and petrified wood and rocks (my favorite!), vintage and maybe modern ski gear and sleds, antique bottles, Coca Cola/coke collectibles, tribal/Indian items - arrow heads and kachina dolls (?) and pottery, jewelry, artwork, glassware, on and on and on.

What I really love about this store is that the owner has an eye for collectables; there isn't one thing in Rogue Wave that isn't cool and interesting to look at. She also carries clothing but again, nothing boring. Cool stuff you won't find anywhere else. Seriously. If you're passing through or visiting the area, you need to check out this store. Nothing anywhere in the Eastern Sierra comes close to her merchandising and vision. Yesterday I had the great experience of buying something I collect that will be in my family for EVER. The owner, Bill, is a great guy, a class act, patient and knowledgeable. His store offers a wonderful mix of coins, jewelry, antiques, and curiosities. My hubby wound up purchasing a coin for himself and a poker chip for his dad's collection. He bought me two beautiful pairs of earrings -- one pair is notably of an older era, detailed and gorgeous. I bought myself a shark tooth fossil (I have a fascination with sharks) and a sterling silver dish to display it. The shop has endless browsing opportunities, and chatting with Bill made the visit even more memorable. Bishop Coins will now be our Eastern Sierra tradition.
